Let's say all we get is new battle grounds. No Cyro or IC content. What are your thoughts? IMO highly disappointing!

DirtyDeeds765✭✭✭✭If they added a fixed and rotating vendor (as well as some new maps and game modes and team sizes) like IA has, I would be happy.
Think more leads you could buy, furnishings, style pages, different satchels, etc.
I'd want a new currency you get from battlegrounds to buy that stuff too. Shouldn't be able to spend AP on it because so many people already have millions. And they could spin it like alliance points are for the alliance war and bg is a separate thing.
The BG vendor and the BG updates would get BGs popping

I would like to see a change made to Imperial City so that twice a month or so on weekends one district allows all three factions to rez back to their platform no matter who controls the flag. I think that would bring back some of the big and sustained battles we had in the past. Not sure new content is needed though.and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."0 -

✭The thing with a term like, “Battlegrounds” is that it can be anything, not necessarily more 4v4v4.
It could be team-vs-team, something that I’ve been dying for, and if it’s 6v6 or greater, that could get really crazy…
None of it will matter though.
Until cross-healing, and health stacking is finally addressed, ball-groups are going to continue to ruin any and all PvP for groups of friends that just want to go in and have fun on the weekend.7 -

✭✭I would like a BG revamp since I dislike all but 1 game mode. There's a lot that can be done with BGs. Unfortunately though, it doesn't matter what they add. There continues to be performance issues, 40k health builds, cross healing, overtuned mythics, procs, poor balance decisions, and the list goes on and on. Core combat has gone down the drain along with the game's balance.
People who haven't sworn off the game completely might return to check out whatever gets added, but they'll lose interest after seeing the state of combat. We need meaningful balance changes and overhauls along with the new content. People won't stick around otherwise.

sarcasm and jokes aside, honestly, if the 'PVP Update' was just tri pots for AP, it would exceed my expectations. as would making the game be functional, but lets not get carried away here, thats ludicrous. I would love to see a mini cyrodiil map of sorts... too much to extrapolate on in this response though.
If it was just a new BG map... id be disappointed. if it was a new BG mode that actually focused on pvp and not just being a tank/healbot and running away, id be okay with it. if it was just an option to only choose deathmatch in BGs again like years ago, id be happy.
someone above mentioned a great idea about free rezzes in IC for a weekend a month, id love if they did something like that with a no tel var lost for that weekend (or reduced losses, anything really to get people PVPing and not lurking on platforms praying for a hero).
My real expectations: a duel finder that just randomly matches people queuing for a duel in its own instance, no spectators, a 'ladder/leaderboard' that will be 99% meaningless after day 1. also its broken for the first 2 weeks.2 -

We were told at the beginning of the year that Q4 would be "non-Cyrodiil" PvP features. Why is this such a surprise to people now?
From this interview on January 18th of this year:

Though I personally wouldn't mind that. The game seems to have too little of a PvP population left to realistically sustain three different PvP modes at the same time. If the new content is adding a fourth PvP mode, they will be spreading the PvP population even thinner. The only good thing would be to make some sort of PvP mode that is mainly for PvE players somehow. Because if ZOS can get PvE players into PvP, that population will skyrocket. And will probably result in more love from ZOS for the PvP in this game.
Worst thing ZOS could do is yet another PvP mode that allows the current PvP players to keep flexing their unmatched PvP-power in just another mode. PvP absolutely need a way for organized groups to fight each other in a ranked setting, been long overdue. Not saying other areas of PvP need content (because it does). The problem with the current BG format for groups is that the group finder is malfunctioning to absurd levels (and it´s not because a lack of population, but rather a combination of a faulty MMR system who severely limits who you can fight, and a very poorly working group finder), which leads to group queues in BG´s never happening. I could make an entirely different thread about the topic so won´t deep dive into it in a single comment.
But saying we don´t need more ways for organized groups to fight other organized groups is something I strongly disagree on. If anything it would give those groups strong incentives to seek out each other instead of avoiding one another in Cyrodiil (assuming the rewards for placing high on leaderboards are good enough)Ps4 EU 2016-2020

sayswhoto✭✭✭I'm not sure how this will all work out for a two-sided BG. The PVP in ESO tends to be very polarized, with meta builds completely destroying non-meta builds. And I would think organized group pvp would just be ball groups and bombers.
With the three sided BG format, there is at least a chance to play for second place if one team is dominant.0 -

Also, this isn't about what the game needs, this is speculation on what we are actually getting in the Q4 PvP-related update.6
