Also went through one of the unknown secret portals (the butcher one) and my team mate was stuck on a platform and unable to participate, while I was unable to loot the chest at the end of the secret level.
I was also unable to loot the chest for the next boss afterwards so definitely still a lot of bugs going on in the EA.
As for the difficulty level, I do think they should just leave the Trial bosses out of Arc 1. Otherwise many players will never be able to really participate. Oh and they need to fix companions to not stand in AOE's it simply isn't fun having to disengage them, move them, then re-engage them, only for another AOE to instantly land right on their new position again. Who has time to do that every few seconds? You may as well not even have them.

for serpent in the archive, you have to kill the green totems he spawns which gives him very high dmg reduction
and when he is about to explode you have to pick up a purple orb
trial bosses can also only spawn in cycle 4

Yeah a lot of these mobs have healers and healing mechanics that have to be stopped if you expect to damage the boss.
Would be interesting if they add Walks-Like-Thunder to the boss pool at some point.

Maybe I am just having really bad luck today, but since the patch I am finding arc 1 even worse with the bosses than it was before. In three runs today (none of which I have even made it to Tho'at to complete the daily) I have had
Molag Kena
The Endling (twice)
Nazaray
Taupezu Azzida
Where are all those nice easy overworld or base game dungeon bosses everyone keeps talking about? None of these are even trial bosses and even worse I have had all of them at some point before the patch and didn't have this much trouble with any of them then.
ETA: And on attempt 4, The Endling appeared on arc 3 again!

IMO this is definitely aimed at people who want to group and/or Vets with overpowered characters. So, not for everyone I don't think, unless they make it a bit more manageable for other players. Personally, I can see myself getting too frustrated to enjoy it, so no thanks.
When the boss goes into his invulnerability dome and spawns the oblivion gates, stay on the outside of the arena. If you are outside of the oblivion gates, you will not take damage from the AOE dot.Necrotech_Master wrote: »i would actually say one of the worst bosses to do is ghemvas the harbinger (based on the blackwood WB), which has a similar attack to magma incarnate, but in like arc 5 each pulse tick does like 9200 dmg, if you dont have a good healer with you or magma shell, that is incredibly hard to sustain against and try to kill the portals at the same time to stop said mechanic

I don't expect this boss to be easy but there is an enormous increase in difficulty from the other bosses of the Arc. I'd like to see the final boss adjusted to be more in line with the rest of the Arc.

I want the mount and the pet. Usually, when I am not having the bad luck I had today, I can get to arc 2 Tho'at, but can't solo her. Might be able to in time but it takes so long to get to her it's not like I can properly practice, especially if I have already lost threads to the arc 3 or 4 bosses like today.
With another player we have made it to arc 3 Tho'at a couple of times but not reached arc 4.
At this point I think that if I have not got the arc 4 reliant achievements by the time I get the mount and pet, I will just do arc 1 to keep enough currency for any leads that I need that might pop up in the shop.

Now that's a kind offer, especially for the solo folk who can get to Act 3, maybe Act 4 when the wall of "you really shouldn't be doing this solo in medium armour as pure DPS" comes in.
Necrotech_Master wrote: »running a full tank that nets about 7-10k dps will easily clear arc 4 without having too much difficulty, but it does take longer if dont get a lot of offense verses/visions (ferocious support and scorching support are great dps carries for a tank)
That is a very kind offer, though since I appear to be on a different platform I can't take you up on it.
It may be that I can make it to through arc 4 eventually, though I am not sure it is going to be any time soon. It took me nearly a week to get arc 1 completed to unlock the daily. I only managed to solo my first marauder this week (whirlwind guy - arc 2). I am getting better, but Tho'at 2 really does seem to be blocking me right now.
I have been working on a tank build as opposed to my squishy DPS one, as well as a hybrid one that has decent DPS but isn't likely to get killed instantly. May be that I go in full tank mode to solo (as opposed tanking for a DPS player) to see if that helps.

Maybe you do not enjoy it at this time, but you may later on. That’s what happened with me and PvP.

if i want to get through arc 4 pretty easy, ill use one of my tank toons and get more offensive verses to help dmg (the one character i have been using to good effect right now is a warden with nearly 40k hp, but decent dmg)
on my medium armor arcanist, i have almost cleared arc 4 solo, the biggest parts that usually end up killing me are the marauders
a tank companion can maybe, maybe tank the arc 2 marauder depending on the marauder, but almost anything after arc 2 the marauder will nuke the companion, and i can only sustain for a little while using sanctum of the abyssal sea ultimate
running a full tank that nets about 7-10k dps will easily clear arc 4 without having too much difficulty, but it does take longer if dont get a lot of offense verses/visions (ferocious support and scorching support are great dps carries for a tank)

I am considering updating my Oakensorc build to run a max health and health recovery setup, something like Alessian + Juggernaut. Or a passive healing setup like Crimson + Leeching. With heavy attack and pet damage being my only damage sources, with the rest of the bar full defense.
Want to play around with my normal setup a bit more as I think I can clear 4 solo, but I've hit a few bad RNG spots with the marauders and bugs.

No, I severely doubt it without changes to difficulty, even with my best and strongest character I can't figure out how to get past Tho'at, and I've tried with four different ones, I don't even know what the f... is killing me. It pisses me off that they feel it's necessary to make some enemies so stupidly hard. As I say, it's targeted at groups, overpowered characters and experts, not the average player.
SilverBride wrote: »I've only gotten past the Arc 1 final boss one time solo and was only able to do that because I had a verse that was a giant green eye or orb that kept aggro off me so I could do damage. That is a lot for Arc 1.
