Exactly 10. The number needed to form a guild bank.

4 of the 10 have over 1800 CP and are capable of doing vet DLC content.

The other 6 are just mules and are not really playable.

Two here, only recently decided to get a base game key for dirt cheap of a key site after cancelling ESO+, my exodus begins!

Though it does come in handy for events as well as mules

I didn't realise there were online games which limited you to 1 character. If ESO did that I'd definitely have multiple accounts as even without a character creator I'd want to try out different things (I made a second profile on my Switch to restart Breath of the Wild without deleting my save). I have 9 characters in ESO and the only reason I don't have more is because I know I wouldn't get time to play them all.

(I'm also very surprised Red Dead Online limits you to 10 horses, considering RDR2 is consistently recommended as one of the best horse games and many people play the online version just for that, I'd expect them to want to encourage it.)

I have 10, but 7 of those are mostly so I can have a private guild bank. The other 3 I play regularly. I love making alts and hate to delete them.
Back when I made them all I needed the space because I couldn't afford ESO+, but now that is not an issue. I would happily give up the bank and other accounts if I was allowed to combine them into a single account.

Yeah, it surprised me as well. You get one character on your account and while you can modify the face afterwards if you don't like it, you cannot even change genders if you decide you'd rather play a girl or a guy after you made the character. Your only option at that point is deleting the character (and anything they earned/own) entirely or make another account.

And single player is worse as far as horses go. Online, 10 stalls feels like a lot when Arthur in single player can only own 4 at most.

i have 2 accts, i decided to make a 2nd one in 2016 to basically help my main acct farming/dungeons

i dont really ever play my 2nd acct separately, its usually running on a 2nd desktop i have on my desk so i can monitor, or still chat with some people while im playing a different game entirely

all non-bound things i trade from my 2nd acct to my main acct, i do all the crafting from my main acct so no need to craft on the 2nd acct

the 2nd acct does really come in handy for events (especially the witches festival)

In the past, I bought an extra account in the MMOs I played. But I never ended up using the second accounts much and eventually abandoned them. So I've not bought another account for ESO (I still have plenty of spare slots on my one account).

if anyone is surprised about how many accounts people here have then just remember that if someone stops by an official forum to do anything but ask a single question that has already been answered and could have been easily searched, then they are probably pretty dedicated to the game and are absolutely not a "normal" player

There was a time where it was helpful to have multiple accounts, after stickerbook, I rarely log in to my two alt accounts, which are primarily for storage.

This event though, if I hadn't had those alt accounts, I would have ZERO minstrel cloth, all of the ones I've gotten were on alt accounts, I'm 0/8 on my primary.

Just the one. I used to run games with multiple accounts, but it ended up feeling too much like hard work. Now I play in a more relaxed way, and now struggle to run multiple character not accounts.
