he sounds like a blithering idiot and not at all like himself. Who talks like that? Where's his normal voice? I used to like him but now i am avoiding him if he's going to talk like that. In 55 years of living i have never met anyone who speaks like that. Yah ok fantasy game? Even so, that not how he sounds in EVERY OTHER Chapter or dlc or base game... GROSS!

one of the voice changes that bothered me the most was lyranth

she sounds distinctly different in her appearance in ICP dungeon compared to her blackwood and on versions

the original voice was much better
    plays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

His mistress was possessed by a naughty pirate and poor Stibbons was caught with his pants down (figuratively). That's a whole new world for him! The quest's unusual ending is further evidence of that.

It would be a blessing if we could get a chapter where Stibbons and Clarisse Laurent doesn't show up.

perhaps the creators of high isle are far too cozy with the digits 0,2, and 4?

I haven't done that quest yet, but I can tell you it's poorly conceived anyhow.

Why? Because it got offered to me only at the point in the story that the meeting they're supposedly preparing for has already in some sense concluded.

(Note: I'm phrasing it that way so as to not spoilerishly discuss how things may or may not have gone exactly to the organizers' plan.)

Along these lines it would be nice if there was a standard order for doing quests in each zone. I forget now which zone but in one an NPC as part of a side quest was telling me about a problem he was worried about that I had already taken care of.

I'm thinking something along the lines of when the main quest line takes you into an area the NPC giving you that main quest tells you there are local problems you might consider handling while there. That tells you for continuity of story do that side quest first. Would of course be optional if you take the NPCs advice or not.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

It's another Sibbons quest, just not as brilliant as the Blackwood one or as odd as the Murkmire one. If one cares about order of things it's better to do the zone side quests before zone main in general.

I always enjoy the Stibbons and Lady Laurent quests and I did enjoy this one as well.

Perhaps Stibbons seemed more upset because this time it was Lady Laurent that was in trouble. It’s usually him.

Depends. I feel a little responsible for him since that little soul swapping incident that my character decided to carry through. I have a feeling that "sort-of-but-not-exactly-Stibbons" is still experiencing a little "dealing with a more modern Tamriel" thing.

This quest is available with absolutely no story quest progress in high isle, as I just did it this week on a character who hasn't yet done the high isle main story. It's definitely out of the way though, I only knew it was there because I found the quest arrow while doing the side quest at steadfast manor.

Personally I always enjoy the Stibbons quest, much more then Rigurt the brash. At least each Stibbons quest is a little different. Rigurt always seems the same to me.

    Stay safe :)

PS, It would be funny if "My Lady" had a big belly next year ;)

Honestly I don't know why people care about Lady Laurent and Stibbons anymore when they appear in every single chapter/DLC it feels like. This time it was an inversion of the tiresome comedy sketch at least, but they are still way overused along with several other tropes like Rigurt, Narsis Dren, and the Vanos Siblings (Akatosh forbid those two annoying peeps appear again).

At this point it just doesn't feel like Elder Scrolls it just feels like generic story recycling. It used to be that characters fit into their world narrative making the world feel more alive. I miss the cross-zone development of minor characters we have impacted like they did with Zhasim across Wrothgar and Southern Elsweyr, or seeing Tirwin gathering seashells on Summerset after you freed her from Vvardenfell. It's little things like that which make the world feel alive and makes the player feel like they actually do have an impact on the world. On the other hand, no matter what absurd foolishness happens to the likes of Stibbons or Rigurt and they'll just be back to their usual selves as if nothing happened by the next dlc; Not exactly exciting.

Hahaha. So it wasn't just me that noticed some of that wording.

Btw I think the WHOLE schtick with Stibbons is that he seems ordinary and subservient but somehow isn't. I think it's great and I always like his quests. And to a certain extent I imagine that Lady Laurent is different behind closed doors, and that's the point of both of them.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

The Stibbons quest in High Isle was okay. Rigurt's was disappointing. Not very amusing at all. Now the Elsweyr one (which I think was his last appearance) was great.

Wish they'd lessen the obnoxious manner of a lot of quests. The other day I noticed that it feels really weird how both Ember and that dude near the wayshrines both call the green orb things "stupid thing."

Maybe I've just grown really cynical about writing ever since I started learning how to write better for my own work. But I'd expect some effort put into dialogue that doesn't make everything feel like a joke. The disconnect is especially weird because of how serious the zone quest is, and how every quest giver I run past just sounds either like they're being silly or just bored.

Not saying funny quests shouldn't be a thing, but maybe make them fewer so they will be more memorable. I went back to Skyrim recently and it feels weird how serious the game takes itself compared to ESO.
