Ember's Companion Perk

So Ember's companion perk, "hidden wallets," completely replaces the pickpocketed item on any of the 3 loots (pick, pick, AND poke). Surely this is a bug and not intentional as the wallets aren't worth nearly as much (100-200 gold) as some of the things you can loot off people (the dunmer motif styles, skooma bubbler plans, and throne plans come to mind...). As is, collecting Ember's achievement permanently nerfs your account if you ever pickpocket.

IIRC she’s actually added an additional ‘pick’ before you have to reset with the ‘poke’.

I spent a decent amount of time pickpocketing this morning with her, definitely counts as the stolen item, and can even proc on the poke.

No, I mean with her perk you should be able to pick, pick, pick, poke instead or just pick, pick, poke, with the wallet being the extra.

After a lot of testing, it's only extra if you pickpocket 3x and then poke. However, it can proc on ANY poke, and overwrite the normal poke drop. This is actually a pretty big drawback if you're trying to farm out a pickpocket specific drop, since the poke is still in the pickpocket loot table and is much easier than trying to RNG a pull from a 50% pick chance.

As is, if you pickpocket regularly, it's actually detrimental to your account to max out Ember and unlock her passive permanently since you're running the risk of making farming pickpocket drops much much harder.

All I'm suggesting is add Ember's bag in addition to a drop instead of in place of a drop, that way you can get the bonus bag AND the normal drop. Or confirm that the drop can only replace like a white or green drop instead of a purple or better.

Yes, thank you for reporting this. I know I'm a bit late to the thread, but I'm so glad I tested this out before getting Ember to max level. I assumed this perk worked just like Mirri's where you get the extra loot IN ADDITION to what's in the chest. But no. As someone who pickpockets a lot, I will never use Ember again as a companion until this perk is fixed. Which is a shame because she is probably my favorite. The hidden wallet really needs to be in addition to what is pickpocketed, just like Mirri's or Isobel's perk works with chests and bosses.

I've just got Ember companion, and I'm now disappointed by her perk...

Is there any hope that it will be improved, so that the bonus gold pouch is not a replacement for normal loot, but an addition to it? Because as it is, this perk seems rather useless

Or maybe this perk replaces some less valuable loot? If a developer might answer this question and maybe confirm it, then I could accept the perk in it's current form.

I hoped to use Ember as my permanent companion instead of Bastian, because during my gameplay she never gets negative rapport and I don't have to put her away ever (I rarely fish nowadays). And she is even more evil than my characters; she laughed maniacally and said "I hope I helped!" after I used Blade of Woe on a poor citizen

But I am afraid of finishing her achievement for this account-wide perk if it can reduce the value of loot with pickpocketing

I'm just proud that I know what you all are talking about with pick pick pick poke.

Also, thank for the information about her, I only recently started bringing Ember along on the adventures.

I really hope this is fixed—Ember's account upgrade is a downgrade!

The only way it wouldn't be would be a downgrade is if it only replaces white/green drops, not blues or purples. But we don't know if it does! Best case, the Ember purse should be an second drop in addition to the normal loot.

Also, I'd prefer if the purse contained a second drop from the mob's pickpocket loot pool, and not just a bit of gold.
