I'd like to see more cosmetics added to the game. Drop-chance based mounts, random cosmetics like costumes or personalities, and things of that nature. More boss drop cosmetics, achievement based ones, more holiday ones. Like in WoW, why do you think WoW is still alive and thriving? Because all (or most) of the cosmetics Blizzard releases are able to be obtained in game through playing the game. It increases retention time. A new player to WoW will take hundreds or thousands of hours just hunting for cosmetics alone. ESO doesn't have that kind of grind at all, and has no real systems that keeps their players playing this game. I leave and come back to the game frequently, but they never release retention systems that make me want to keep playing this game. Endeavors? That's just another daily and weekly that takes months to get anything good, and you need to do it every day. This increases retention at the same rate that it increases burnout. Adding things to the game to make players work for them, things that add excitement and make players want to continue working towards something, that's what is in the best interest of the company to keep people coming to their game. Players that want to play are also players that will pay.

This in conjunction with the removal of the Loot Box system. Loot boxes are nothing but exploitive and preys on people's addictions. I and many others have gone deeply into why this system is bad for the game long-term, and why it's something that shouldn't exist in the gaming industry as a whole. Many countries are in the process of banning loot boxes, so it's in ZoS' best interest to figure out something else before the biggest countries, the US for example, ban it as well.

Skill splitting to balance PvE and PvP in an economical way in both time and money spent by keeping parity between modes when possible and splitting when not feasible.
Just like the added lines from morphing a skill in the tooltip some PvP lines would describe the changes in PvP. Some exclusive skills for PvP or PvE would have to be considered too but in the most limited fashion.

Edit/Addendum: People with no interest in PvP could disable the display of the PvP lines on the tooltip by checking the related checkbox in the Combat Options.

Also I'd like this "dream" to become reality:

    Saint-Ange wrote: »

I want to run a dungeon for the first time and ..

I open the brand new Dungeon Interface, select the place and pick among many options: Questing, Exploring, RP Welcomed.

I precise my role, the size and composition of the team to modulate the difficulty. It can be for example:
    • 3 members to make things harder (recommendation says 3 at least due to dungeon mechanics).
    • 5 DPS despite the recommendation specifies it's better to have a tank and healer.
    • Adventurer Mode: random roulette decides of the composition respecting the team size I've specified thus giving an element of surprise .. it's cool to run a dungeon multiple times while it feeling different each time.
    Last option:
    • Open group: anyone who picked at least one of the options I picked (Questing, Exploration, RP) can ask to join.
    • Private: only Friends or Guild mates can ask to join.
    • Closed: until I decide to open it.
Now I can wait for some like minded players to join or I can go with AI driven companions.

I decide to start straight away but leave the group open.
I'm a Healer/Range DPS and I've picked a Tank and Melee DPS companion, I've took the quest and we're going through some trash packs.
Suddenly a player wants to join (he saw I haven't killed a boss yet nor finished the quest), he's a Tank and has picked Questing + Exploring. I accept and he pops near me while the tank AI companions fades. Greetings have been exchanged, on we go:
    • All is fine? Cool! The guy is even making the effort to light RP a bit. 3-4 emotes, some short says in character. Once we're done with the dungeon we both add a name on our friends list.
    • The new comer can't bear me an my antics and decides to leave. He is teleported in a different instance of the same dungeon with the options, size and composition of the team he picked earlier just as I did. He can choose to reset or continue from the same point with same mobs and bosses killed .. nice safety in case you get kicked by a troll.
I'm alone with AI companions and a mechanism requires 2 or more members to be activated? No problemo I'm a pro, suffice to point the crosshair to a companion, press F and pick an option like Stand here/Go there and click on the ground or Activate the lever (at the same time an other lever will be activated, by me or an other companion).
"That new stuff is really well done, Kudos Zo .."

Suddenly an alarm rings, I fall off the bed. Five minutes later I'm searching for my glasses while filling a sock with hot coffee. Good point, the keys are on the door! Like Travis in Taxi Driver, I'm getting "Organizized".

For me, I'd like to see Leads shared account-wide. looks like this is already in-game, I just never really noticed because they lock you out of viewing leads if you haven't gotten the scrying line.

So I guess Vampirism stage 4 locking you out of vendors rather than increasing service cost or reducing what they'll offer. I hate seeing this happen especially since all players are recognizable by NPCs- you could be a regional hero and they'll still turn you down even at stables.

Luckily there's at least one easily accessible stablemaster who doesn't care about your vampirism stage, but for all the others you need to reduce your stage.

I'm not much for pvp in this game, but I like the idea of PVP and I often enjoy PVP in games that are built better for it.

That said, I think I'd be more interested in PVP on here if Cyrodiil or even the open world had some kind of player-funded bounty system wherein which players could place gold bounties on other characters and would-be bounty hunters could take quests off a bounty board to track down and defeat the character with a bounty on their head.

It could be a very easy system to allow people to opt out of with a simple option in something like Gameplay Settings to Participate/Not Participate in the Player Bounty system, and the reward for finding and defeating someone with a bounty would be to get the gold that's been put on their head.

The fiddly details could be worked out in good order I think, and I can't help but suspect that it would add an element of drama and invested interest in duels and small scale pvp engagements.

Basically, I envision that it could be a great framework by which PVP enjoyers could be given a tool by which to foster engagement for duels and smallscale engagements that could feel meaningful and perhaps even storied on their own terms within the existing systems.

This is a tough question... there are tons of things that I would love to see ESO add! ESO has been really lite on content this last year and we need new content that isn't specifically targeted for new players (Companions) or fringe interests (ToT); High Isle is pretty boring mechanically. I think we need someone big that all players could be interested in to really re-energize the player base.

With that said, I would like to see one of two things:
    1. New PvP content. Perhaps a tournament style, bracketed, 1v1 competition structure with limited potions, punishing debuffs, agility courses? Or maybe just a revamp of Cyrodiil to add much more content and fill out the zone? I think Cyrodiil is awesome, but kind of simplistic and, while vast, pretty empty!
    2. A new monk class. I would like to see this new class focusing on unhanded combat with grapples (stuns), kicks, punches, throws. Base the concept design on Pyroturge Encratis and incorporate elemental powers (fire spinning, earth-based physical attacks, electrical agility)

An overhaul of the Guild system

This part of the game has been neglected since its launch. I'd like to see mechanics introduced that let all guild members work toward goals as a guild, along with some QoL updates, for example:

Guild Levels and Skills (alternatively a system like CP with many points required to unlock a skill)
o Gained through (A LOT) of member exp
o "Normal" Skill point on level up for skills like:
    - exp bonus for members +5/10/15%
    - general gold drop bonus +5/10%
    - etc.
o "Special" Skill point every 5 levels and through guild achievements for things like:
    - Housing Slot increase +10/20/30/40/50 Slots
    - Cyrodiil Speed Bonus +10/20/30%
    - Battleground Crit resistance +3/5/7%
    - Member Trading Slots at Guild Trader +5/10/15
    - etc.

Guild Achievements could be things like
    - Defeat every Dungeon End Boss on normal/vet/HM
    - Defeat every Trial End Boss on normal/Vet/HM
    - Have 5 (former) Emperors in your guild
    - Sell 50/100/300/500m gold worth of items at your guild trader in one week
    - Have a full guild hall (e.g. 60 people in there or something)
    - Hoard 500m 1bn gold in the guild bank
    - etc.

    A PROPER GUILD HALL

Yes, that means a house that is more than the primary residence of a member. It belongs to the guild itself.

    Features could be:
    - 800 max slots
    - High player capacity for events
    - Guild Trader NPC (crown item ofc)
    - Ability to merge all possessed atunable stations of a type into a single one (expensive crown item :p, same with mundus stones)
    - Door item for guild halls that teleports you to a linked door at a member's house (crown item ofc)
    - Door item for members that teleports you to a linked door in the guild hall (crown item ofc)

I'm sure there's a lot more that can be done. Even something where guild fight for areas in some realm of Oblivion as part of year long story thing.

As others have said use Mesmerize to get the NPCs to talk to you. Also the writ voucher venders will talk to you and repair your gear and buy things without needing mesmerize.

Mesmerize also works when you have a high bounty and basically is the ultimate way to get any NPC merchant that wouldn't talk to you to talk to you.

Can also carry those drinks on hand to reduce your stage, the Purifying Bloody Mara. It's a pretty potent max Magicka max Health drink to.

1 A party finder including WB, dungeons including pledges, trials. Basic everything in ESO that is based off of group gameplay.

2 Make roles important again to a degree, where they are necessary to compleate group content of any level/difficulties.

Ideally? Crossplay and cross-progression. To merge all the players into one place for the overall health of the game. Rich says it's impossible, not because of the tech, but because of the way Sony and MS are with revenue and wanting to retain their share of the pie. I don't believe it. Not in this day and age where there are tons of games from much newer, smaller developers pulling off crossplay and progression over multiple systems and even phones. They're working out the payment breakdowns with even more companies in the mix; I can't imagine it's impossible for ESO to do this.

That's a huge one, though. So here's a more realistic one. A customizable party finder.

They've got this in FFXIV and probably countless other games. Steal the idea. Let me put up a request for group into a system where I can say exactly what I want to do and who I need. And make sure it can be seen by anyone that checks it across all instances. If I want to run vet DSA or an unpopular trial or WTFever, let me put it up for everyone to see. Let me choose minimum CPs and whether I am okay with 3 or 4 DPS. Hell, make it so that I can subscribe to certain activities other people might want to do, so I get notified whenever there's an opportunity.

The dungeon finder is perpetually broken, and there is no finder for trials and arenas. Rich says the latter doesn't exist because there aren't enough people to populate those requests at any one time. Well.................1) crossplay would solve that, but 2) Fine. Give me the tools to find them, then. It is absolutely idiotic to have to sit in Craglorn spamming zone chat to try to put together trials and then having to do all the group assembling manually. And, as a member of the only two 4-man content guilds I think are out there, it sucks just as bad for finding people to do stuff with that way.

Anything would be better than we have now.

P.S. If ever it were possible to create a situation as described above where people can actually find each other to do stuff together, a bonus request from me is an Intermediate difficulty for content. The chasm between Normal and Vet in most DLC content is waaaaaaaay too wide to cross for people trying to learn, especially if they're getting paired with complete randos just trying to bang out their pledges. Normal doesn't require any mechs and conscientious playing, so it teaches absolutely nothing for Vet content.

I will never understand why ZOS puts so much incredible time and effort into making creative new dungeons (and they do a great job of this, IMO) but then makes it nearly impossible for anyone to actually want to or be able to play them.
