i wouldnt say they entirely ignored it, PTS week 1 was still way worse than the live notes (with 2 sec ticking ground dots that lasted 20 sec needing lot of recasts lol), but they definitely didnt walk back as much as they should have

i still see almost the entirety of the next update focusing on the combat fixes than the actual dlc release in terms of a players perspective lol

Ignored almost all feedback and straight up broke or rolled back certain things incorrectly for several weeks when they pretended to pay attention as well as not giving us the full ending patch to properly test even in the last week?

I'm on the verge of canceling my sub. Only reason I'm not is because I'm waiting for U36. If it's worse or doesn't fix this... Mess I'm done. Not even going to update ESO on September 6th.
This last month has left me feeling terrible. I left the first guild I ever joined. A guild I was in for 2 years because I was berated by senior members to shut up about the changes and to quote "just trust the devs."

Haven't been able to even stomach playing the game because all I felt was what's the point? Everything I'll do will be wasted effort in a few weeks. I'd cancel my sub now if it was monthly, but as it is a yearly sub that renews in December we'll see if U36 is worthwhile enough to keep my sub around.

Still can't believe that after 4k hours, making several friends, and meeting my girlfriend through ESO this would happen. :(

I'm not happy at all with what has gone live, this is quite likely the worst update to be released, but they are doing their best and not intentionally trying to destroy the game.

Even though people hate it with Halo Infinite, maybe having bi-quarterly releases for these updates would be better. Every 6 months release a dungeon DLC and zone DLC. Gives plenty of time to test things.

I had a chance to try my frost (magicka) warden in overland. She isn't killing anything faster, but she isn't killing anything slower, either. But...I HATE the 3s/9s on shalks. The 9s is too long. Nothing survives that long.

Also, I had to fight an NPC in town as part of a quest. I fired off shalks. The 3s shalks surfaced. Baddie down. Great. So I start to move. Oh no, the 9s shalks (which I forgot about) fire and hit a bunch of neutral NPCs. Not what I had in mind.

Later, I was in a delve that had mobs situated quite close. You know, kill one mob, move three inches and the next mob is there. Well, the first mob is down well before the 9s shalks fire. So I start to move. Oops, the 9s now fire and aggro the second mob before I wanted to fight them. So are we supposed to stand around waiting for the 9s shalks to fire before we continue moving, or what?

9s is insane. It's an eternity in combat. I shudder to think about people who PvP and have to use this skill. If ZOS were to change it to 3s/3s, like the stamina morph, I'd be happy. At least I'm used to that.

Apart from that irritation, I didn't notice much of a difference. But my frost warden's build is, um, creative. I fill my bars with skills I find fun. For overland and normal dungeons, I can do that without a problem. Maybe I'd notice an increase or decrease in DPS if I played the way ZOS expects me to, but I don't.

pts isn't meant to major changes, it's really meant to just shake out some issues and maybe find a few things that were overlooked.

this update was clearly a disaster from the development and project management perspective.
they spent 3 months implementing all these changes only to find out after all the work is done with only a few weeks to go that it's a complete mess and serious chunks of content were unplayable.

My favourite bit is the bit where they said they'd go through all of the health of the elites and bosses in trials and dungeons and "[t]he reduction in health for each boss will vary from encounter to encounter", but then just slapped a 10% decrease on all of their health and dusted their hands like they'd actually achieved something.

I guess it depends on what they meant by "from encounter to encounter." A 10% decrease in health on each boss is going to vary in amount depending on each boss's original health; and each boss's original health varied depending on whether it was in a normal or veteran dungeon.

Normal bosses did absolutely not have anything reduced, so why are they even mentioned here? Only veteran trial and dungeon encounters had their health reduced, nothing else had.

Here's the fun bit: dungeons and DLC zones on their own are plenty fine.

It's ZOS deciding to "spice up the combat" every step of the way that's making people wary of anything called an update.

Who the hell even cares about PTS at this point. LOL. I certainly don't even bother testing anything anymore. I deleted my PTS a while back after figuring out it was not worth my time--and apparently not ZOS's time, either. The PTS is just a CYA.

But we all know (or SHOULD) by now, is that only when things go live and go bonkers, do changes happen.

I also completed two new dungeons on normal mode with my friend for the sake of quests. It was harder here. I noticed that I have to be distracted by the skillbar more often, as the timing of dots and effects has become very different.

Welp, the husband's main is a Templar. He mostly pvps. He got wumped in cyrodiil this evening. I offered to duel him to compare, and I also wumped him which doesn't usually happen. He only has one main, so he will likely quit the game if the Templar nerfs stay in place. Or maybe he'll switch to full heals. Who knows. Tonight, at least, he's talking quitting.

I hate most of the changes, Templar especially. But I have a bazillion characters, so I'll find something fun to play, if there is such a thing in 35. I'll probably end up scrapping pvp and pve to decorate for a bit. I'm apathetic at this point. Realistically, if the husband quits, I'll stop having fun, and I'll also eventually move on with him to other games.

Inventory space should honestly just be QOL update free for all at this point, considering all the sets that have been added into the game throughout the years. We shouldn't be made to pay for them with these tiny unit increases, they should be made free and standardized as free per each new chapter - meaning you would get more of them with each chapter purchase.

Just did vMA and it took me 46mins longer to complete then last patch, I usually do it in 32mins so thats 78mins in total to complete. Its not harder, content is the same but I feel WAY underpowered compared to before... in fact in my 8 years of playing this is the the most underpowered I have ever felt playing Templar.

I can get use to being underpowered but if content is going to take me 2-3 times longer to complete then I wont be playing a lot of content anymore, sad truth.

Hopefully qtr 4 DLC contains fixes, either boost damage or reduce mobs health to compensate.

this is the thing people defending the update keptt trying to say "it makes it more challenging" , no it doesnt it just make it take longer as long as you can pass dps checks because of the merfs (week 1 was a heavy indication that this was not possible for some of them). challenge is related to skill , not how well your class does in dmg.

From a main Warden the changes seem ok. I thought Oaken Soul would have been relegated to the depths of a storage coffer but it is still very usable. The extended duration on Fetcher Infection is welcome. The same treatment for Arctic Blast and its focus now being more damage oriented with a great heal is a real win. Mystic Orb restoring Mag and Stam is a nice change too. Testing Deadlands Demolisher, Orders Wrath, 1 piece Trainee helm, and Oaken Soul on a trial dummy rendered 57k dps. I'm sure this could be increased with different sets. It isn't exactly a high output build to begin with but its about 10k more than pre-update. Skill bar is Fetcher Infection, Sub Assault, Power Slam, Arctic Blast, and Mystic Orb. Arteum Broth food. Runs about 32k stam. The passive change to penetration vs 2% damage will come in handy as well. Its 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other really.

Haven't loaded my Templar, Necro, or Sorc yet. Will be interesting to see the differences as they run high output sets. Hopefully get on tonight and check. Not overly worried to be honest. Changes come, changes go, changes stay. I think ZOS are undergoing an identity change. There will always be ups and downs until it is solidified.

After doing 3 normal dungeons today, I can’t say that the game has been slowed down that much for me. I’m sure dps has gone down, but I just haven’t seen my experience and game flow be deteriorated from it.

On another note, I tried one of the update’s dungeon (the underwater dwemer ruin), and I really enjoyed it. I think this is probably one of the best dungeons of the game.

I'm going to have to replace that with something a little more rsponsive.
