I didn't like the new jabs animation on PTS and it hasn't been reverted, but then I didn't imagine it would be. I've played my 250CP and level 13 (different server, no CPs) templars in overland content including delves thus far and apart from the animation haven't noticed any difference.

Easier content like overland or delves you won't really notice a difference because the relative time to kill is already so short. If it took you 4 seconds to kill an overland mob before, at a 20% damage loss it will now take you 4.8 seconds. Pretty tough to notice any difference.

But if a boss in VMSA took 2 minutes to kill before, it will now take you 2m24s, which you will likely notice. Or those enemies that take a second or two longer to go down now get in an extra hit or two, you will notice in any "race against time" scenario.

If you were in a Vet dungeon, or trial that has a DPS check, that extra 20% can not only take noticeably longer, but even make the content impossible.

The point is that these changes were heralded by the doomsayers from the outset as impacting adversely on every single player regardless of playstyle and including casual players of overland content. The fact is it hasn't, in part perhaps because of the changes made in response to feedback but also perhaps because of scaremongering on the part of those who were previously calling for the game to be made more difficult and then got upset when ZOS actually delivered on it.

As with most such changes, and I was as opposed as anyone on the PTS to the previous changes on achievements, some will quit over these changes and a few of them likely won't return, but others will adapt as they always do, and as I have done with the achievements albeit by abandoning two longstanding accounts and playing a bit differently on a single replacement account. Life goes on, as does the game.

My magblade went from 31k to 26k on an unbuffed normal trial dummy as if I forgot how to play overnight. As a casual solo player, this is discouraging. Less damage means less healing for me.

Only vet bosses (not arena bosses mind you) got their hp reduced by 10%. My dps went down ~15%. Dummy parse dragged on. Boss fights will take even longer because there will be more time for repeating mechanics.

If by an unbuffed dummy you meant 6m or 3m one, then your dps is just about fine. You can still hit for more (I think 40k on such a dummy was a limit before the update, if you're really into soloing, not just overland and arena stuff), if you adjust your build (and skill?).

Ok guys I have to say i like this update.

It's more the way i'm playing, regarding heavy attacks, empowered buff, and with my restauration staff i get more sustain it's excellent.
I like the new animations for dueal wield spam & jab. The fact jab gives major brutality/sorc is great and i can use another skill than rally in my bar. I dont know why exaclty but my sustain is excellent with my templar, I dont know why ATM but I will check
NB surprise attack "nerf" isnt really one for me since in pvp, the skill is always combined to cloak so it's always 100% crit, doesnt change anything.
MagNB are up and it's clearly a good new.

Some buff are only for pve (against monsters). I don't know if we're on the way to separate pvp/pve, It's my only asking about this update.

I think in general, it's more balanced for all classes, considering all nerfs & buffs applied.
And the fact in PVE the whole dps has decreased is a good thing. I mean, when we started playing in 2014 best players were at 30k dps. Now there is a pit between average players and good players reaching 110k. It was time to do something.

I like this patch. Thx zos.
Combat team did a good job.

From a these days casual, mostly solo player, after a few hours in-game I don't see that much of a problem for myself when it comes to the damage nerfs.
What is however a major problem is how they gutted HoTs. I mean cutting the Spirit Mender's heals by half?!? Basically every class I tried today got its healing over time severely nerfed in real gameplay. Talking about a sledgehammer approach...

I meant the dummy with 26kk health, without optimized buffs. This one. I don't see myself getting back to where I was before. Also, my motivation to redo my build again is gone because it's likely that by the time I'm done, everything will change again.

It takes longer to beat a boss, but otherwise fine. I don't see any issues with that.

The issue is that there are dps checks in this game that threaten achievements or even clears themselves if you take longer.

Your portal dps don't do 42k average per person on the Eternal Servant? No vSS HM for your group, and obviously no Godslayer.

That 42k just got 15%, 20%, however much harder to achieve.

Objectively it has, but subjectively it will depend on the content you run, and how much of a difference a 10-20% decrease in DPS will affect you, as I tried to explain in my post.
The fact is it hasn't, in part perhaps because of the changes made in response to feedback but also perhaps because of scaremongering on the part of those who were previously calling for the game to be made more difficult and then got upset when ZOS actually delivered on it.

Was increasing game difficulty on ZoS list of stated goals for this patch? I missed that. In fact I am pretty sure it was the opposite goal in particular for newer players and casual players who were hoping to make the jump into more difficult content.
Yup. But one must ask, as we did with achievements (I'm with you on that one), was it worth it?

Yeah I feel that pain. This is why ... about one week prior to U35 being confirmed to drop I did all my remaining Trials that I care anything about. I can only ... imagine what fresh hell awaits anyone else trying to farm places like vDSA for leads or gear, among other places as well. So thankful I did not wait any longer.

However, the problem now is they are messing up other things so even though the runs are done, the rewards are lackluster because they're killing animations and performance. What a sad ending to this once amazing and one of a kind experience.

Was doing 50k dps on the 3m dummy before the patch, now I'm at 35k. I can't crack 70k dps anymore on a trial dummy (adjusted), when I was hitting 95k before the update. This is on my secondary. My main is no longer playable and my third is also gutted. All in all, since these changes went live, I'm going to take a break until they're addressed. Don't really see a point in playing at the moment.

I've had a heck of a time getting logged in at all. The first three accounts (on PC EU) went fine, got the riding all done on each of them. Then moved to PC NA (was about an hour later) and had enormous issues, getting Error 303; server timed out over and over. It took me 4 to 5 repeat attempts to get one character on each account logged in, and over an hour to get the four on my third account logged in to update riding training.

I followed the troubleshooting steps for Error 303 on the support site, except for port forwarding (my satellite modem doesn't allow for port forwarding), then repaired the game 3 times (because the launcher refused to pop the Play button until I'd completed the third repair), and finally was able to get logged in the first time on my 939 CP main.

I'm not noticing much change on her - stamden, in crafted gear with Oakensoul, and overland is pretty much all I do. By that time, it was time to get off for the day - so I hope the issues I had today are gone tomorrow so I can figure out what to do with my sorcs, if anything.

    I'm a magsorc.
I used the 3M dummy for testing, since the trial dummy was given additional debuff.

    I was at 40k pre-patch (90k trial dummy)
I stand now at 35k. (didn't test on trial dummy)

Not so bad considering I use the same rotation as before patch, and I thus have a lot of redundent casting for skills that now last 20s instead of 10, and I still use the same gear, so, there's room for improvement.

However, I'm not convinced it will raise the floor having all dots of different length. It's doable, but certainly harder for someoone inexperienced.

I'm also annoyed by the maelstrom destuction staff not working on frontbar anymore. It's totally in opposition with what this staff always was.
