Are you comfortable using an MMO mouse? 12 buttons

I've owned several of the Naga and the Roccat Nyth. In my experience, the quality of Razer products has gone down hill. $80 mice, dead within 1-2 years or less. I have switched to Corsair and could not be happier. My favorite mouse is the Corsair M65 Pro, 8 programmable buttons without getting in the way of your fingers. Also, the software is pretty decent too.

I use something Ike that but a generic keypad I like the button layout better. If not for the mouse, I'd prefer a controller

I have the Logitech G13 too. Lasted me 10 years. I'd love a new one if they still made them. I've seen them going for over £250 on eBay

Yes I am mostly comfortable using a mouse with the 12 buttons on the side. It is not perfect but it is pretty darn good.

Logitech G604 user here. 11 buttons is perfect for ESO:

6 thumb buttons: Skills 1-5 and 6 for the ultimate
2 index finger buttons: Weapon swap and synergy (or anything else that uses "X" such as WW feeding)
Scroll wheel push down: Bound to "Q" for radial selection while holding it or just press to use, typically a potion.
    Scroll wheel Left: Crouch toggle
    Scroll wheel right: Mount/dismount

    Works great.

Uses an naga but only the 1-6 button for skills and ultimate, scroll wheel tilt left for weapon 1 and right for 2.
Tried putting stuff like potions on 7 but this ones hand is to large for it to be effective.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

i have a razer mouse and razer keyboard, but both of them are from roughly 2012 (and surprisingly they both still work considering how heavily i use them lol)

I'm left-handed so most MMO mice aren't an option for me because the buttons are on the wrong side. But I also think the way a lot of them are laid out I'd end up pushing the wrong button frequently.

When I recently replaced my mouse I decided I wanted one with at least 5-6 buttons and eventually decided on the Corsair M55 Pro, which I've been very happy with. It's got 4 extra buttons, 2 on each side, so while I can't do everything one-handed I can bind some of my most used actions to it and the buttons are all easy to reach.

I strongly recommend trying out mice in real life if you can, not necessarily while playing but at least get them in your hand and get a sense of how they feel and how you'd hold them. There were a few I was considering which I decided against when I held them because while they looked ok they felt uncomfortable or the buttons were hard to reach.

Yep. Have two of them myself. It's not so much the number of buttons but the smart placement of them that make the Tyon so good. Down-press thumb buttons should be on every mouse as should at least one secondary left and one secondary right. I also feel the top mounted paddle that sits between your finger is also an inspired design.

You can tell they really thought about the design and usability of the Tyon.

100% agree. I think it is still one of the best designed mouse ever. It's a pity they don't produce it anymore. The down-press thumb button is absolutely the best designed and most comfortable to use button I've ever found in an MMO mouse.
I also own two of them, the second is a spare in case the first one will fail someday, because i could not play on any other mouse. Anyway, so far so good on the first one, even after many years of daily usage. Not only a very well designed mouse, but also absolutely rock-solid and reliable.

No matter what control scheme you try, Muscle Memory is a process. You have to start out slow and deliberate in your button or key presses. Spend a few minutes going slow. Then slowly increase your keystroke or press rate as you get comfortable. Dont start increasing the rate until you can press what you need to without looking at the controller.

Trying to learn and using the same speed as your current controller will not be as efficient. Because you will learn the wrong muscle memory, then you have to unlearn it.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

for other mmos sure, for this one, nah you have like 10 keybinds which you can easily just use your keyboard and 1-2 standard mouse side buttons for, no need for such an abomination of a mouse

I'm stuck wishing for input devices that no longer exist.

The official MMO mouse buttons with so many buttons on the side did not work for me. What WAS perfect was the Logitech G500 with THREE (not two like almost every mouse in existence) thumb buttons, with one in the middle indented so I could perfectly reach and differentiate between them all without having to change my hand position. I so much want another mouse like this.

I have the same problem where I use the Orbweaver and I like the old one with the extra button. The newer version doesn't cut it for me.

Both of my hands are sorer and my gaming skills are not as good as they were when I had my ideal devices.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.
