Hi all, your friendly Khajiit Warden here, J'hattee the Geek!

I just wondered if you all would be up for joining in this thread and sharing something about the game that you love, like, or are grateful for?

I know the Devs have been going through a tough time currently (justified or not - personally I think not - but I don't want this thread to be about that) so I thought it might be nice to have a thread where we can pop in, and just mention something that has recently happened in-game that we can say something positive about..

A bit of positivity and kindness goes a long way, so in spirit of this, I thought I would start this thread. Here are some simple rules:

1. Try and put something positive every now and again. Maybe you've visit a new place and you think it's really beautiful, or discovered a part of the story (try and keep it relatively spoiler free, please) that took your breath away a little bit. Maybe a positive experience or a first experience with a new aspect of gameplay or dungeon.
2. Start the post with "Today, I am grateful for..." (or 'this one is' if you are Khajiit, like me!)
3. Give a bit of explanation or short anecdote around your first line.
4. Post as many times as you want! - I am personally going to try every now and again as I explore more through the main story line and discover new areas, and put a new post.
5. Try and keep it positive and constructive.

Don't let the influential web of the pesky Daedra win! We can all be critical of the devs, but there are some truly magical things in the world of ESO and it can't flourish if we are just bashing them all the time. Together we can keep their spirits up and remind them of all the cool things they have done, so that we are motivated to improve!

So anyway I shall start....

Today, this one is grateful for Coldharbour!

I visited this place for the first time last week whilst I was off sick with Covid, and wow what a place! When I first got there I expected it to just be a small Solo dungeon type thing! But it has it's own map and everything! The place is really cool - I love the atmosphere set by the music and artwork. Plus I love the fact that it seems to have an empty city that we have to populate, it's got me hooked

Today I am grateful for ZOS_Kevin because his addition to the forum has improved my mood more than once and even if he can't fix everything over night at least he seems to be putting in genuine effort. Not that the others aren't, but we rarely see that of them, while ZOS_Kevin is very much out in the open.
I really tried thinking of more things, specifically recent things, but sadly ZOS hasn't done anything for me in recent memory to be grateful for. ZOS_Kevin has been around for quite a while now too. I think the second best thing was the timing of the most recent ESO+ free trial, because of the event that was going on, but even about that you could say that it came way too late compared to prior years...

Maybe other people have some more positive stories.

The housing.... there this one said it. I like decorating the houses. And to make it worse, I like doing the larger houses. I usually have at least one housing project going on always. So in between killing and looting, I take breaks and move furniture around to relax. :)

I'm grateful for a variety of things: all the fun I've had in the game for the last 5.5 or so years; all the people I've got to know from all over the world (even though I'm nothing like "social"), getting to see places in Tamriel I'd never seen before over the years; housing (though I wish there were some things that were more like housing in RIFT); and the Oakensoul ring, which even nerfed will help me out. I love the pets, the mounts, some of the gear (not tassets and front/back flappies), and a lot of the costumes.

And thank you @chattygeekHD for a positive thread! I hope it stays that way.

I'm grateful that the new chapter is in a beautiful place and that the quests (so far) are entertaining. Before it was announced that is was going to be nerfed, I would have said I was grateful for the Oakensoul ring, for it is letting me do some more content that I my fibromyalgia wouldn't let me do before.

I'm sorry, but I have to say (or write) this: "Today I'm grateful for Coldharbour" cracked me up. I like that place too and I tip my metaphorical hat to Molag Bal's aesthetic choices.

Today I'm grateful for the little (not in the sense of size) details the devs added to the game. The whale skeletons scattered over High Island and Amenos (told you it wasn't about size), some of the new zone's random encounters, like that woman who wants to ride a vu'kesh, and even the critters. About the latter: there's a coral bear's corpse on a ramp at the cave in Coral Cliffs that's being eaten by several hermit crabs. The little crustaceans scurry away when you approach, but after a short moment they cautiously return to their feast. I actually spent some time there going back and forward and giggling as the crabs did the same.

Things like these make this a charming game and the devs responsible for those deserve kudos.

Agreed, @ZOS_Kevin is who I am grateful for!
He is the only one that listens and responds to us as adults in a sane and calm way. Even though he isn't the one making the bad decisions he does his best making things right for us where he can. His statements have put out many fires and calmed many people down on these forums. He is even beloved by the forum trolls, the Pvp community, and the pve community.

Everyone else who communicates with us either has dread inducing or disappointing news, is censoring us, is ignoring us, or mocking us. Kevin is a blessing and I am thankful he is here for us.

I'm really grateful for how super alt-friendly this game is! Being able to share everything with the bank and craft bag, lots of character slots, being able to use collectables account-wide, being able to gear and level a companion on a 50 and then being able to use that same fully decked-out helper on a fresh character who needs it a lot more, being able to have different crafting professions maxed on different alts so I don't have to farm a bajillion skill points on just one...

My altoholism will never die. I've bounced between several MMOs through the years and, while there are SO MANY things about FFXIV specifically that keep nibbling at my nostalgia and trying to coax me back, every single time I end up going "Nah, I'll stay, because whilst that MMO is more to my tastes in almost every other way, they make it inexplicably, incredibly painful to have even ONE alt, and I just can't do that anymore."

(For reference: the only way I could move even a single item between characters in that game was to mail or trade it to my husband and then have his character mail or trade it to my alts. No shared bank like here, and you're not even allowed to send mail to your alts like you are in WoW.)

I am very grateful that even after many nerfs and bad changes, ESO still can provide some fun gameplay for me :)

From hilarious harmless glitches (trying to swim with my mount)...

    bzst5kd.jpg

...to some nice rolepaying (there is finally a dog pet in ESO which I absolutely love!)

Last time I was in Imperial City... I don't even remember :( And after Zenithar event, I just went there to quickly use vault keys. I noticed the player using banner emote, and I could't resist as well:

When I was looking at Bastian and a dragon accidentally landed behind him (and looked at him too):

    XzKKyH7.jpg

Recent free ESO+ week was very helpful to manage huge backlog of surveys, materials and containers with transmutation stones :)

I stopped renewing my subscription last November, and it was rather stressful to play inventory management since then. During this week, I could also explore two new dungeons from latest DLC pack. It takes me few hours to do a dungeon solo, cause I explore every corner and do many screenshots if I like what I see. I also talk with every NPC after every quest progress. I had few fun moments in these dungeons, and I absolutely loved the creepy atmosphere of Shipwright Regret :) The way to discover secret bosses in that dungeon is perfect!

Shrouded Axeman's place and fight was very atmospheric as if I watched a short horror movie!

    xkhpnBR.jpg

I loved his rhymes, they remind me of Hollowjack motif books.

    56DwKUV.jpg

The little story itself was scary, and for full understanding I needed to read the note. Sadly, the lorebook near that boss was bugged for me (could not interact with it), so I had to read it on the wiki. The whole picture gave me creeps then :o

As a Griffon lover both in ESO and in GW2, I loved to find one to pet <3

    68nIcam.jpg

I also really loved there there was no mechanics to require grouping, and all secret bosses were available for a lone player.

Such solo dungeons might not be possible after next patch and many nerfs to damage/healing, but this ESO+ week I had fun anyway.

    Thanks! <3

Reading through all these brings me big smiles!

Got to jump into the game yesterday - still battling through Coldharbour.

So today, this one is grateful for the details!

I like how as I've gone through the CH map and saved the villagers, the town has slowly become more populated. I was getting worried as I like to do my writs when I first boot up the game and at the crafting area there weren't any people that I could buy crafting materials off.

So I worked through and saved a few more villagers and slowly they started appearing in the shop.

I am also grateful for learning that when I'm working through my research - there are some items that have 4hrs and some that have a few days - and that it is better to go through the shorter times.. This has made my inventory management much easier!

Today, this one is grateful for the 3nr instant all research tokens I got for logging in this morning!

This helped me with my crafting research and eased my inventory fullness a load!

I've currently got my blacksmithing up to be able to make Calcinium stuff now, but it's harder to get a hold of this stuff to be able to get my writs done.

EDIT: To elaborate, DC put up a nice defence, check the ballistas, lancer and catapult on the wall, invisible, but behind the wall more catapults lunged their meatbags at EP, Sometimes the defenders perform a deadly sweep from behind as well. This time we had the numbers and reconnaissance. Regardless of alliance, I really enjoy the good fight and tactics. (EP by heart though).
