Queue'd for game, board didn't open

I queue'd for a ranked game and clicked to enter but the board never opened. I tried to requeue but it said I couldn't queue while in a match. I logged out but when i came back I had the deserter penalty.
Is there a way to get the board to open if this happens again?

milkbox✭✭✭✭✭This has happened to me twice, now. First time, I waited it out (not too long) and the other person left. Just now, I got the blank board and decided to leave. Got the penalty and lost rank.
Now that I know this can happen, I guess it's a standoff when it happens again.
Going to file a bug report & check back here to see if someone has a workaround.1 -

✭✭✭✭✭this seems to only happen when playing against other players through the queue, ive only been playing against NPCs and never had this happen yet
its possible it could be related to that weird de-sync bug that happens and you dont port into a dungeon and shows your group as offlineplays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

✭Most of the time when I accept a game after queue on game finder I get stuck on a screen with no cards, no options and no player (like shown in the screenshot). It takes around 10 to 20 minutes until it returns to the game.
I also reported many other problem with the activity finder for ToT. The game is great but the activity finder seems to be very broken.

Which is terrible, because I queue for the next match as soon as I los... err, the previous match ends, and after a few seconds, the rewards arrive. I open my mail to get the rewards, and the match approval popup happens.Edited by cyclonus11 on June 19, 2022 12:38AM3 -

I'm guessing this was the "exploit"? Glad I figured it out after only a couple of occurrences or I might've been banned?

Paulytnz✭✭✭✭✭I just had a game that didn't even take me to the card table, came up with an instant defeat and deserter penalty. I can't help but think there is still an exploit or 2 happening.
Also a guildmate of mine told me that anytime he is in a party with someone or tries to join a party with them, somehow his game invites that player to a game of TOT when he tries to whisper them. I have a feeling this may be related to that exploit or perhaps another? Maybe if you invite a friend to a game while you are in queue, it auto kicks that person out of the queue when their friend accepts the TOT invite or something? Unfortunately, it is not uncommon. I consider this a bug, as i get deserter penalty FOR NOTHING.

Ginge✭This has happened to me twice. Both times I waited about 5 minutes then left and took the rank penalty and 10 minutes in the sin bin.
I really don't have a problem with people resigning if the game is going badly. I play a lot of chess and always resign if I lose a piece. To keep the game going wastes the other player's time.
This does not get exploited in chess because the ranking system in chess means that rank gained is dependant upon the relative rank at the outset so winning to a low ranked player may not gain them any rank at all. By the same token a beginner losing to a high ranked player will not lose rank - if anything they will stay the same.0 -
