"gg" is quick and people know what it means, pretty much across the board, on console. I dunno, a quick way of showing appreciation to give players encouragement to keep doing the good things they're doing, is all it is. Doesn't need to be any more complicated than that. And if they don't get a gg, I tell them exactly what they can improve upon.

Unironically, by the way. If I say or type something facetiously it needs context. "gg" by itself isn't context.

I type the words "thanks all!" at the end.

Abbreviations feel insincere to me for some reason. Also, it's not always a Good Group, but I can still say, "Thannks all!" and mean it even if they stunk the place up.

Start of the dungeon: "Heya. o/"
End of the dungeon (doesn't matter how the run went): "Thanks all."

Typing a few letters at the start and end of a dungeon takes only a few seconds. For those who think typing is hard, or simply wish to save time, you can also use a script with the Bandit's UI "Custom Bar" feature and set keybind (I'd probably suggest Home and End).

/script CHAT_SYSTEM:StartTextEntry("/g [Put your greeting here].")
/script CHAT_SYSTEM:StartTextEntry("/g [Put your farewell message here].")

When you press your desired keybind, you can hit enter immediately after to post the message to chat. So at the start it would be Home ⇒ Enter and at the end it would be End ⇒ Enter. It's just like any addon which can post stuff to chat. WPamA, Code's loot request, etc.

tyfg = dungeons
gg = particularly good match in Bgs
gj = said after each boss fight in training runs when people listened to mechanics.

I make a habit of asking if anyone is new whenever I'm in a DLC dungeon-- I usually get silence, or a player or two that says they've done it before. About 30% of there's someone new, but they don't say anything--until they die to an avoidable mechanic at a boss. THEN they *might* say something. I'll quickly run down boss mechs from then on, and cheer the group on when we defeat each one. aQ

I only ever group with guildies and we're in discord, so I say "thanks" and all that verbally.
