Cyrodiil performance is getting worse every day! What is happening?

You said you would not change anything for a year, but the performance is really really bad. Not just for me, but for all players on the server (Playstation EU). Does anyone know what changed?

Pinja✭✭✭✭Hi @Lebkuchen chances are if your experiencing large amounts of lag you are playing in a high-pop campaign on an old system.
Nowadays I play on an Xbox series X in an alternate CP campaign. The performance is so good, I forgot about lag.
If you haven't upgraded to a PS5, try the low pop campaign for now and see what happens.0 -
Lebkuchen✭✭✭✭✭High-pop is not possible, because they changed the max pop, so every campaign is as good as empty, even with 3 bars. I am not interested in taking empty keeps, i want to pvp, so i will not join a completely empty campaign. Of course the performance is better when i am picking flowers on my own with 6 people on the map...
And it's not the "old system" because ps4, ps4pro and ps5 players are having the same issues.

I hate to break it to you, but you won't get a good answer here. The replies from ZOS for the last 5 years regarding this issue have all been essentially identical. "We're working on it". Expecting or hoping for anything else wouldn't be rational.
If you read the latest announcement about PvP....that they didn't even post in the Alliance War forums....you will see that they again have stated "We're working on it", but they've added "...and it will be at least a year before players see any improvements". I guess we can't blame the reps for posting the announcement in the wrong forum. There is essentially no reason to ever visit the Alliance War forums any longer, and over the last year there has been maybe 50 new threads there total.

Everything you wrote is true and will be deleted in a few hours. I am pretty sure the whole discussion will be gone by tomorrow. Like many others before.
BUT i just want to play PvP. Employees and investors come and go, rules change. There are a lot more players than employees and most of us have been here longer and will be here longer than most of them. We are paying for a service that is not working properly, and there should not be rules against us asking questions and talking about problems in this forum.

✭✭✭✭✭The lack of maintenance that involves patching the game recently is telling. Either they are running out of ideas to make things better, or they are taking advantage of the “wait a year for improvements” statement, and putting things off with an excuse.
It is curious how things are getting worse by the week. I’ve set a personal record for crashes and disconnects recently. With no obvious changes, is it possible that the aging hardware is gradually failing before our eyes?2 -

I mean your not entirely wrong, but did you know some of those flowers are worth 700k?
If your looking for an immediate solution to your performance, what I said works.
I had a clip I deleted on my Series X console of me on my bomber trying 2 blow up a 40+ zerg in a High-pop campaign. I just put the build together, and I was like "this is going to be fat". The game wasn't too choppy, but I could only cast an ability once every 10 seconds. Did absolutely bub kiss to the zerg.
Nowadays if players are not on a bomber of some type in a high-pop campaign, they're either a tank or their wasting their time.
Here's why.
Here's a surviving clip of me bombing: Dropped about 6 people, from any where between cp 300-2000 in a high-pop campaign. No assists from any surrounding Daggerfall meaning all the AP was all mine for a whopping 1.8k. Notice how slow my first two elemental rings came out in comparison to the 3rd.
Where as in this clip: I take out two CPs below 810 for a solid 11k that gets followed up by a additional solo defense tik.
One of my first days in their I got a 50k defense tik from Alessia. Crisp and lag less gameplay.
Thing is a low-pop campaign is no place for cannon fodder. There are some real monsters in the campaign I play and you have to be able to hold your own. Like today I fought a warewolf with a 10k howl and nearly 40k health.
In a low pop campaign players have a better ability at turning a fight, only thing is if your loosing fights your more likely to keep loosing to the same people.
Also sadly the campaign I play is non-alliance locked, so someone from another alliance will boost and have like 7m AP on the first campaign day.Edited by Pinja on January 27, 2022 5:35AM0
