Have your cake and eat it too: Anti-Bot Suggestion.

Armies march all over Tamriel, but none are as tenacious and infallible as the bot army. These groups of workaholics appear by day, and by night, laboring 24/7 in the mines and poached wilds. From Betnikh to Bleakrock and the shores of the Alki’r, dressed tattered, these tireless workers deserve a break. I say we teach them to party…

The Suggestion:
Make this year’s anniversary cake special. Add a taste so [stunning] that it knocks players back and has them dancing. This will defeat advanced path macro bots by taking them off route and desyncing their controls. It will also add flare to this 7th cake release.

In implementation it can be used by a player who encounters a path driven collection bot, by placing it on a node they would attempt to collect.

If there's an aware player, they can angle their camera accordingly to avoid the cake, or simply adapt to the situation after dancing and continue farming.

My apologies for delaying getting this idea out. Been sleeping on it since the double collection event.

And when you get pain's in the back side, who put them down on the chest spawn point during the dolmen trains in the Alikir what then?

But you can't use someone else's cake unless they're in the same party, it won't be changed or else people will spam cakes around crafting stations, turn in spots, or close to daily quest NPCs to throw other players off.

As people do with the cakes or stuff like questionable meat sack.

Now having something like this might be an good idea but think real bots will just carry on.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I have a better suggestion - how about ZOS banning the bots instead of relying on players to 'troll' them and mess their pathing?

I can think of a handful of ways to use this to troll other non-bot players..which means someone else can think of various other ways as well.

Interesting idea to throw them off their route. But, as has been noted, we're customers, not bot-curtailing worker bees. I pay to play, not pay to mess with MMO cockroaches.

On PC, this probably would not work. The PC bots can see what they are taking. They aren't blindly grabbing things.

Yup. Besides, don't play with the bots. Even people violating the ToS can report someone else for violating the ToS. It's the whole "two wrongs don't make a right" thing.

An item that bounces people around and forces them into an emote will only be used to troll other players. Not to help with bots. Especially for the rpers, which it will be an absolute nightmare for.

Well I see the general concern. There are alternatives that can be done by the game itself, like adding methane gas and landmines. Pretty much add a 1/100 chance a node knocks you back on attempted collection. The knock back would have to be implemented in a way it would be unavoidable, IE; so that bots couldn't script a block or roll dodge at every collection. It also couldn't be a unique node spawn, otherwise if bots are reading nodes types off the client they'd be able to avoid it.

However, it could add a buff that doubles the collection of the next node so that way farmers would actually look forward to getting knocked back.
