They use BST as european time zones, prime time, holiday maintenances. If they bother to put the european server where it should be, none of these mistakes would be happened. Why the hell on earth we still call it "european megaserver", have no idea, it is NAtest megaserver.4 -
Bromburak✭✭✭✭✭Thats right i got the message and 2 minutes was a real surpirse because i was checking the forums before and only found the status saying EU Servers will go down tomorrow at 6 am. They might do it today instead tomorrow cause someone recognized the holiday. That would be a great move but unfortunately no message in the forums.1 -

Masadi✭✭As I have stated, there was alot of lag going on and the staff were asking if were was still being effected by it, hence they taken the eu servers down for maintance to address the issue.1

When are the fanboys and apologists going to understand that it isn't the taking down of the servers in itself that's the issue, but the TIMING of it?

Yeah probably. I was referring to US not having Labour Day on May 1. Ours is first Monday in Sept and usually marks the start of achool years/end of summer. Huge barbecue thing.
Our May holiday is last Monday, Memorial Day(military rememberance).0 -

I didn't misunderstand you, you seem to of misunderstood me, even if the server is based in the US (for now),
They still do eu and na maintance at different times, this will also will apply for unquie holidays for regions, hence why both servers only get maintance at early hours or late at night normally.

TigaloSoul ShrivenJust change the maintenace times to 0200-0600 BST, when "most" people are sleeping and a lot of people would stop moaning. I have played a lot of MMOs over the years, and almost all of them scheduled the downtime to night/early morning, and had the server back up in time for people to get out of bed. EOS goes down when most people start their day (although, most of those people start the day by going to work/school, not to start gaming

From the beginning there has been lag issue. No matter your connection in EU you will never get better ping then a min of 150 ms to a US located server and any gamer will notice that trying to go for optimal play.
Skill queing, unresponsive cast (at times), weaving ect ect. Anything that any semi serious gamer will notice. "You" may not notice it or care but it's there and have been there from the start and will result in worse tanking (response times) and lower dps/hps no matter if you notice it or not.
Besides those things that have been there from launch as it was falsely adverticed of an "EU" server lately it has just been utter crap with latency freezes of upto 20 sec or so on a regular basis.1 -

On Monday you are hungover and get to work and have worst day of your life. Once you get back home to play some more you notice all your money and items are gone and worn items have totally broken. And someone has created 7 more characters to your account with funny names.

As I said, I wasn't getting any sort of lag since release until now, though only started 30 mins before the servers were bought down.
Some people were not hit by it, reguardless what you say but a major amount of EU players are effected,
trust me if I as lagging at all, I will notice it but all my abilitys are instant and I always seem to be able to do things before my fellow eu players, I'm based in UK btw.

Thats the point but not only regarding the ignored european holiday by Zenimax. Having the server down Tuesday, Today, tomorrow and Friday is not acceptable, at least not for me and many other morning players ...
