Here we are again , you really need to seriously rethinking the Whole thing .
29 scheduled maintenance to launch the 1.06 8 hours down and nothing then again maintenance on 1 may (holyday) and maybe again scheduled maintenance friday 02 ? I bought 30 days with the release now i'm at 20 at least we can live with the maintenance but some free days will be a good thing.

All due respect to your religion/faith, but scheduling maintenance downtimes that incorporated every religious affilliation/national holiday/similar type of event would probably result in near 100% uptime of the server (i.e. no repairs or patches or new content).

During holydays you should be focusing on prayer and stuff, not gaming!

Far as I know computer games don't faith and therefore by extension they can patch whenever they want.

If you do not like the scheduling then cancel your subscription. It's your only way of protesting.
Let me guess, someone stole your sweetroll...
Everything I say is just my opinion. Like it or not - that's all it is.

@AngryNord I agree Labour day as a religious holiday does seem funny but don't forget it is also May day in some countries...and the only thing I can take from the OP was his/her use of the term "holyday", which I can only interpret as being related to religious aspects, unless it is an interchangeable term for Public holidays . Of course it might simply be a case of language differences.

05/01 is the international workers day (labor day). In many countries across the world it's a legal holiday. Except the US, not surprisingly...

I know what the OP means though, I was thinking I would have all day May 1st to play, as maintenance was scheduled for Friday when I'd be back at work and inevitably, check today to finalise my holiday plans and clunk! server down at 1 pm (HK time). (EU server) Ah well, get up nice and early, play all morning, then go cook something nice and have a siesta midday when the server goes down.Think of it as repetitive key pressing injury therapy. And when it comes back it will be a new, over-achieving, patched game to play away the rest of the day. (Maybe!?) And yes, I do have a partner and family, who have to work that day.

I call it Mayday in UK n I believe it's bankers bonus day / first day of new tax year. It's just a bank holiday n don't mean *** :)

Australian. Labour day scheduling is weird in our neck of the woods as per wiki:

Celebrating the Australian labour movement and specifically the achievement of a working day limited to eight hours, the Labour Day public holiday is fixed by the various state and territory governments, and so varies considerably. It is the first Monday in October in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, South Australia and, since 2013, Queensland. In both Victoria and Tasmania, it is the second Monday in March (though the latter calls it Eight Hours Day). In Western Australia, Labour Day is the first Monday in March. In the Northern Territory, it is called May Day and occurs on the first Monday in May.

But as I said in a followon post - the OP used the word "holyday" which has just suddenly occured to me is a badly misspelt "Holiday". I has egg foo y(o)ung on my face

I just created a ticket and mailed to admin to postpone the maintenance for an earlier time, not again morning, but for an example early morning, because the legal holiday. I am wondering, what I receive as answer. Do this also, maybe we can be successful.

The 1st of May is a "holiday" in many countries, though to be more precise it really is not as much a holiday but an "official strike" in memory of the original event. Except, it is a "strike" everyone participates and also gets paid fully, contrary to what happens with real strikes.

In any case, it is still a pretty bad decision to schedule several hours downtime on this particular day (it will probably last until early afternoon or so - ah yes, talking about freaking Europe, if you didn't notice yet). Makes one wonder... are they really that much ignorant or just don't care? Since for many people the 1st of May would be an opportunity to spend a bit more time online in ESO.

Well done, and I was starting to hope that their management skills were improving a tiny bit, and downtimes were being moved to a more realistic timetable...

Stop bitching, if they didn't take down the servers to address the lag issues, you would be on here bitching about lag, let them fix it, a few hours off the game will do you some good anyway.

    Exactly!!!

The server lag issues need to be dealt with regardless of what today (or any day) means to someone.

Unplanned maintance due to server lag issues.

Reguardless they seem to do maintance for eu and na at different times, I'm guessing this will apply for certain holidays as well, the maintance right now is for the strange lag people are getting though.

When are the fanboys and apologists going to understand that it isn't the taking down of the servers in itself that's the issue, but the TIMING of it?
