This is a new game. Very new. As such, people have made mistakes and specced into skills that they regretted.
The skill reset shrine is ridiculously expensive. That's just too much gold for a new player to have to put out. You guys should offer one FREE respec per player character. That would be a decent and sensible thing to do for people to repair their mis-applied skill points.

I think perhaps 1 free respec is enough and if they should give out more than that, then perhaps 1 free respec at lvl 25/50/and then each 5 VR ranks
And then we shall also think about if it should be possible to save up multiple respecs.
To draw a simili to another game, in Eve Online you get 1 free respec of your stats each year, but you can only have 1 active at a time ( at least if I remember it correctly )

No, just one every 10 levels. Not 6 at VR 10 but 6 chances on the way to VR 10.
I'm not sure why you want to limit it to 25/50? Where is the harm and letting people try different builds every ten levels for free?

I have wasted way to much gold on respec, they should make respec more flexible, give us an option to at least only respec one tree at a time or something like that. For instance, if i test out a skill in Two handed or something, and I find that this skill was no fun, I should be able to respec only the two handed skill tree.7 -
Hyperventilate✭✭✭If you're early on and have a couple skills you've misplaced, why worry about it? You get so many skill points that eventually it won't matter that one or three are misplaced.6 -

Call it elitism/whatever, but I mentally can NOT handle wasted skill points that would otherwise improve my performance at endgame content with my guild/parties in dungeons. If that's the case, why do they even offer respec at all if we are supposed to not "worry about it?"

However, I don't think the current price is reasonable. That's just oppressive. I also don't think a free respec every 10 levels is restrictive enough. Point placement should be a pretty firm decision, and I think that ONE free respec is totally reasonable, but that the skill reset should be 100 gold per point rather than the insane amount it is currently. What, 250? 350 per?0

I would love to be able to spec out of it considering how gimped it is, in comparison to the other 3 classes. Oh and before someone says,"Well just roll a new character" I already have this guy at VR5. And seeing how lazy, boring and flawed the current leveling system is, I'd rather slit my own wrists than level up another character in this game.2 -

Yes. You pay for your mistakes...or change of heart. Either way its on you and you need to pay the gold. Seems like a fair system to me that helps keep gold valuable.

✭I'm good with leaving it as is. The mechanism is there to respec, it should be something to work for. In the long run, as much as it seems oppressive at the time, it will be good for the game to keep this kind of thing non-trivial.
Now--what I'd like to see--is some kind of way to alter your appearance via the character creation tools somewhere in game. Don't care if it's expensive. I hate the way my wood elf squints, and really don't want to live with it forever. Yeah, Eve lets us earn SP when offline, but I guess it would be hard to make a fantasy MMO/RPG doing that

I'd be happy if they just separated crafting and combat.With nearly 100 points in crafting atm,it's a real pain to reapply all them just because I want to try a diff combat tree.2

Well, I can see how that is a good rule to go by in real life, but this is a game that shouldn't be taken so seriously as all of that. Respeccing ALL skills at once based off of having applied 1, 2, 3 that I regretted is silly. I would even be ok paying 1000 gold but just for that ONE point I applied wrong... The all or nothing approach isn't fair.

that is the point though. If you misplace them at like lvl 30 you are not at endgame yet. By the time you are you could easily have a skill point on every skill essentially in every tree almost.0 -

Just wait until you have to earn 2.28 million XP for VR6. Then take into consideration that the mobs get much more difficult, more HP, better resists and stronger spells/attacks. But that stuff doesn't scale for you. Then take into account that NB is basically a single target DPS class, cause it doesn't have access to the powerful AoE abilities that Sorc, Temp and DK do. It's probably the most underpowered class there is.1 -

When a boss cant be snared and theres no player around i have to kite like a pro and i still die several times to some bosses.2 -

I have dual wield maxed at 50, bow maxed at 50, 2h maxed at 50. Whirlwind is a joke of an AoE unless your target is below 20% health. The bow skills SUCK at higher level PvE. They can be nice if you're going against a melee boss, that can actually be snared and/or rooted, but other than that it's pretty worthless. You'll see once you get up into around VR3. How powerful the npc's become versus your diminishing power/abilities.
Like I said, Sorc, Temp and DK can do EVERYTHING a NB can.....and do it better. I think a once per character respec is warranted. Maybe add it in once you hit VR1. So you "earn" that respec......."hey you played through 50 levels, if you're not enjoying your class choice thus far, here's a free once per character respec."

Ouch.
Now I am regretting my class choice. I don't expect to be able to solo endgame high VR bosses, but I do expect to be doing better DPS than other classes as a fragile melee class.

But you should. The grouping mechanic in this game basically forces you to do everything solo, unless the person you are grouped with is at the EXACT same part of the quest you are. But, it remains that as a NB, you should get used to the idea of carrying at least 5 grand soul gems around with you at all times.
