People are terribly ungrateful. ZOS releases a hotfix almost immediately after noticing a rather serious bug - oh no, I don't want to reallocate my CP again. ZOS doesn't fix something immediately - oh no, how can you delay fixing something so important for so long!

Despite the fact that I will have to reallocate CP on 18 characters I appreciate their promptness in fixing bugs. Thanks! @ZOS_Kevin

For people who were on break for a while and wanted to come back, this just turns them away again. Especially those of us with more than a few characters. Did we not just have 5 weeks of pts?
So much inconvenience lately, the game is hardly worth my time anymore.

Ungrateful? This bug did not affect me in the least as I'm not using the new thingamajig they want to sell me. The fix DOES affect me, and there are ways to code it so that it doesn't punish the whole playerbase. A fix in a humongous spaguetti code like ESO is not something you can do quickly, and quick fixes are done exactly this way; just rollback the whole damn thing and that's it.

I'm not thankful, and I'm not their friend. I'm a paying customer and have been a paying customer for many, many years. I expect some efficiency, not a pat in the back for a job I, as a developer myself, consider inefficient and sloppily done. You don't push a code update without sufficient testing, and this was not some obscure thing that was impossible to test. This is a huge failure from the whole developing chain.

Why should I be grateful? That they fixed something they broke, and the fix broke something that was not broken to begin with? That I log in to have a bit of fun and find my 9 characters without their CPs?

I'm not going to be grateful because they fixed something they broke. I expect them to fix what they broke because it is their Oblivion be damned job.

And that's all I'll say about it.

Yeah, I have one character, and while that’s not as bad as people that have a large number of them, I still have no idea where most of the points I have even were! I also didn’t even use the stupid armory! I collected it, but I didn’t put it anywhere or anything! Now, I have no choice but to put everything back to some semblance of how it was, and just deal with it, but it’s certainly not going to be exactly the same and may end up being worse rather than better.

Happy to see they're resetting, it was suggested there be another Champions Reforged event as part of this rollout - they didn't do that, and perhaps are now seeing that might have saved some headaches.

Not ideal but to save some time 'thinking' about where to put points, I often reference Alcast's guides for CP distribution.

Choose a role and class and it's pretty much supposed to be the mathematical best options for different CP threshsholds. Then you can tweak later.

At least reallocating the CP isn't too hard. At least on PC anyways. Not sure if consoles have a similar system but by holding shift and clicking on a star it dumps the amount of CP to bring the star up one level. So like just a few clicks and the star is maxed out. Can see it getting tedious on multiple characters, but it's not as crippling as skill points.

On PC at least you can save all your skills and CP allocations with addons, and I tend to keep mine backed up because.. Zenimax.

There are addons that will just blindly assign the official gospel according to tank club/alcast/whoever so if you don't care about CP or customise them per toon it's nice and simple.

The other thing on PC is that it's much more sensible to save a single slot with no skills, no attributes, no CP assigned. You can then (barring vampire/werewolf) customise as much as you want as many times as you want for free by using an addon to assign them all, and when you need to reassign restore the blank build, and use the addons again.
Too many toons not enough time

This is so annoying. I have little enough time to play, so now we have an extra maintenance, and have to redo all our character CP AGAIN.
It would be a very easy coding change to make it simply check if a character's CP allocated added up to what it was supposed to, and if it didn't, then reset only that character.

    I have a proposal.
It seems that ZOS made a bug on their new armory system and used us as beta testers (again)

Now somebody is responsible for that, is it ?
    Some developer/tester/manager, maybe.
So let these people check and respec all CP for all the players in his the time (unpaid of course) to learn a lesson and to do their job properly.
Maybe they will end sooner then the next century :)

I've got 9 characters. I dont remember which CP I used for each build. Its going to take me at least few hours to get everything right.
After a long day at work I want the game to be ready to play, in the same state I left it.
You're making a huge mess and we're suppose to fix it? How about saying sorry at least.

A friend said he heard if you save your loadout, then load it right back up .. it'll work .. I tried that and all my CP got reset again .. so got to reallocate them all again.

Personally am done with the armory until when/if its fixed ...

Heh. While saving my CP build, I discovered that one of the characters that I did Witches Festival with still had their CP cleared from the last reset.

I never bothered to redo the skills on any of my alts after they were cleared last year, nor distribute CP on any of my alts-- which I never do on below-L50 alts, anyway, and only 1 of my alts on each server is at L50. I did invest in some of the crafting passives, since all of my alts do daily crafting writs, and I invested in at least one weapon or class fighting skill on each alt during the recent Blackwood event, but I really need to spend time building my alts so I can start playing with them.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

I am sorry but this is total [snip] I used the Armory as it should have saved them. Since that was the bug that was fixed then that SHOULD have been specifically noted.

I am really pissed I used the tools and got screwed.

I feel like such an ass hat for not being MORE proactive. If the game just allowes other addons to do this and players are using them then just get rid of this tool.

Complete waste of developer time and energy

And does notghing but upset plYERS.

Forced respecs are entirely unnecessary and, frankly, should never happen when they can just as easily allow you a free reallocation on all your toons instead of clearing all of that data. They did it with skill points. They can do it with CP. Just give free reallocations and stop messing around with people's builds in such a Draconian way!

My 6 at CP level are back together - I had enough time after I found out about it to save their CP in Caro's addon. My alts will get green tree redone as I'm on them for other stuff, no big deal on that. I play different ones each day, so it won't take too long even considering how many there are....
