That being said, depending on gender and on which race of ESO character you pick, there are a lot of good names in many games. Isn't Kevin Smith's daughter named Zelda?

Well, there is a difference between giving a name according to particular tradition, religious custom or in recognition of family relatives AND naming girl Khalessi before 8 season of GoT
I chose to ignore the last episode...it was so terrible that in my headcannon it does not exist.

This just creates the problem of the child having to correct the spelling of their name all the time.
Customer Service rep: "I can't find that account. The name is Karen Smith?"
Person with alternate spelling: "No, it's Cair'in."

I don't think there's any way to avoid that.
My name is Katy, and I still have to spell it out for people. And I can't even just say "Katy with a Y" because that's resulted in 'Katiey' or 'Katey' before.

OP would not have asked if he was considering a more normal name. And he ended up on Vestige.
I am somewhat serious my son is about to be born and we don't have a name. The wife and I very much enjoy playing ESO and were just wondering.

ESO has a lot of normal and not so normal but nice sounding names. With all the damn weird names I've seen people name their children the latest decades, naming them after a character in Elder Scrolls might actually be less so.
Even children with very common names gets bullied for them. Kids will find a way somehow. Can be a rhyme, can just sound similar, the name can appear in a song, story etc and the kid will then hear that song, story whatever a lot.

Lol, I believe that's called satire.
I always suggest naming people by names that already exist but with different spelling if you wanna be somewhat more creative. You won't get to see the name you wanted to name your kid because society would have to get used to strange names without it first sounding like an absolute elaborate joke. Your kid might not even see it either. Another thing you could do is give them a normal first name and the middle name you want.

Robin Williams named his daughter Zelda. Kevin Smith's is Harley Quinn.
