What’s an OG boss that STILL throws people off?

We all know that DLC dungeons are killer, but where’s the love for the OG?
Let me ask the community, start a little discussion while I’m working.
What are, in your opinions, OG bosses that to this day, after years of release, STILL throw players off?
For me, and my experience it’s these (in no particular order)
1. The Whisperer (w/ scroll) - Spindleclutch I
2. High Kinlord Rilis (HM) - Banished Cells II
3. Praxin - Spindleclutch II
4. Mezeluth- Crypt of Hearts II
5. Horvantud the Fire Maw - City of Ash II

The Cursed One - first (mini)boss in vet Vaults of Madness. Pugs never care about mechanic and happily kill their group member  I had to group up with guildies to get VoM no death achievement, it's impossible to do using dungeon finder

Kragh the Dreugh King. Every single time i go and do that dungeon on veteran, someone dies to his highly telegraphed AoE attack. Doesn`t matter what CP they are, i have seen people from 100-1000 die to it, sometimes several times in a row.

This right here - people never learn.

I sometimes see people continuesly die to it. I guess getting one shotted by it one time doesn't register "Get out of red".

This, so much. I've even asked in pug chat for them to slow down and explained the mechanic, but it still never works. From the same dungeon, the Mad Architect. Not a difficult boss at all, but people coming into vVoM from normal sometimes don't know he has two big attacks since they're used to him being burned down so quick.
I saw one poor person who didn't recognize the telegraph for the dome and assume they needed to get away from him. Dead. Then he did that ghost pillar and they, thinking it was the dome again, tried to stay close. Dead. It wasn't a no-death run at that point so I was able to laugh at it.

Depending on the group, there are many base dungeons bosses that can make the fight harder:

-Tempest Island, last boss in HM: can cause a group wipe, even with players that know mechanics
-CoH 2, the second to last boss: the one fight that if people die, it's better *not* to rez :D
-FG 1, Shepperd boss: if the spiders die, the fight can take a while, with a low damage group
-DC 2, netch boss and final boss: these fights still give new groups trouble, there's lots of environmental damage, and both bosses have different phases in their fights that players must get the rhythm of
-Blessed Crucible, last boss HM: the lava srpinging from the ground has claimed many a soul, and contiues to do so
-Arx Corinium, last boss: lamia's scream catching a player unaware hurts a lot

    to a lesser extent:

-WS 1, last boss: Allene's ambush without block or mitigation can one shot players, same with Rillis' blast in BC 1

Mad Architect will light blue braziers on edges of room before those mechanics. So that is the warning to get ready. If there is a bright flash of white light and ghosts streaming up from ground to ceiling, get out. If he puts up a bubble and shattered glass starts swirling around, get in.

Ciirenas the Shepherd in FG2. I usually go grab a drink.

If I'm tanking (and I usually am), that is the only boss in the game that I will deliberately reset. If the DPS burn the spiders. I will drag her outside her yard and force her to reset. I can keep the spiders happy and out of the way, but there's always one DPS who decides to chase them. Ugh.

It took me years to find out he was transferring damage.

I don't see many people skipping in FG2... then again, I don't want to be in FG2, so that might be related.

I was once with a group with a healer so awesome that she healed right through it. Never seen anything like it since.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

It’s a damage transfer, so I find it’s usually either one of two things: (1) damage is good and this mechanic never happens, or (2) damage is not good, so it can be healed through.

    Stormreeve Neidir in Tempest.

To this day, finding a PUG group who will just stand directly outside of her AOE circle and not move is impossible. Everyone running around and either dying to her AOE or freaking out and running to far away and dying to her charge.

Just stay close, when she does her first AOE move to the edge, and then just stay there the whole fight. She will never move, and her AOE will never hit you. Just stay there.

Honestly, that one is more about STOPPING the DPS on a dime when the boss links up with a group member than it is about people cot caring about killing a teammate. Many times you've popped an ult, or you've just laid down your AOE/DoTs and now its on a runaway train. Somtimes in those situations its just to power through and res, unless your really trying to do a no-death run.

I managed to get no-death with DF PUG there. It took some luck (extremely weak dmg group) for The Cursed and a barrier slotted for everything else (like teammate danced in aoe) =D

Yeah that guar is intense. A couple friends and I rolled up on him for the first time in literal years and we were so busy screaming in horror and laughing that we wiped. We're all CP1k+. 🤣👍

    My entrants are (all vet):
    Spindleclutch 1 Whisperer w/scroll
    Wayrest 1 Allene Pellingare
    Banished Cells 2 Rilis

Took some friends through vSCP (one for the first time ever completing the dungeon) and vFL back to back last night and we didn't have a single wipe but go into vBC2 and it's a circus every time. 🤡 Those daedroth get out of hand so easily.

That dungeon reminds us PvPers why we have battle spirit in the first place lol. I had a tank of mine vaporize so fast when grouped with 2 high class DPS on that boss. Probably the only time in my life I wished the DPS didn't punch over 60k DPS lol.

I had no idea that was the mechanic. When I'm soloing it, I just spend my time healing and letting the bear and Bas kill the boss since I noticed my health disappearing but didn't know why. Thanks for the info!
