How are you guys enjoying mid year mayhem?

I love Midyear Mayhem not just because of the double AP but also because there's just much more action going on. I've already been in multiple major faction vs. faction sieges where each side fights desperately over an AP tick. Apart from that, it's been a joy boosting my AVA rank at the current speed.

It's been pretty tame. Last mym the pve crowd were utterly vile in zone chat but it's been well behaved this time.

Drowning in ap. Anyone want a cold stone treb?

Welp, I enjoyed last year's mayhem.

This year however, the lag delays on simply sprinting are so bad it's unplayable. Not sure what just happened but i think my gpu just refused to render stuff and the game crashed in the middle of a battle. Double ap is moot if you can't even play the game.

oh, and word of advice, don't go into any Cyrodill delves to get the Blessing of War buff (+20% ap gains for 1 hr) because somehow the server will forget you are in cyro and won't let you back into cyrodill because it has been filled.

Ah yes, the stuck in delve thing in cyro. Don't go into delves when the campaing is full.

Mym has been fun, god fights, tons of ap.

battlegrounds still superior for time, but getting to tier 3 isn't hard. decent AP mining opportunity if nothing else

I'm a PvE’er, but I always have more fun than I expect to during MYM (the only two times a year that I venture into PvP).

Usually my goals are not to kill other players (which I’m hopeless at) but to gain rank and skills for my many alts. I like questing and skyshards, too. And Cyrodiil is beautiful to ride around in.

I don’t mind getting killed, so that’s a plus. When it gets too ganky out there, I go repair some castle walls.

One thing I’ve noticed this is that there are even more instakills taking me down in an eye blink. Usually I get the chance to see who is coming for me and to fire off at least one defensive skill before I’m dirt-napping, but not this year. Is everybody attacking from stealth these days? This is particularly noticeable in IC.

Since I don’t do many random dungeons, getting to at least 1 bar of campaign AP is also a plus for me for those juicy end-of-campaign 50 crystals. So I try to get that far on as many alts as possible.

So all’s good it’s me! I might even enjoy this once a quarter instead of twice a year!

That happened to me while I was doing the "burn the two corpses" daily for Weynon Priory. You can get out by queuing for an Imperial City campaign, then queuing for Cyrodiil again-- although you probably won't be able to get back into the campaign you were in before unless you sit in a queue for it.

So far, Cyrodiil has been fine for doing the city dailies-- at least, the ones for the two cities nearest to my alliance base. But it has been murder trying to do dailies in the Imperial City. I'm still able to complete them, but it's taking a long time for most of them, due to the swarms of enemy players.

Geared my Magden up for PvP again, doing some battlegrounds and a daily IC quest.

Though I'm really rusty :D Haven't done any actual PvP for a long time besides occasionally healing in Cyrodiil. On the first day I went into BGs without a food buff and with the wrong Mundus, and I was wondering why my Magicka ran out so fast :D Also had to stick a memo next to my screen: "Before drinking a potion, switch to backbar first so you get the Clever Alchemist buff!".

Guess I better get back into it, eh? :p

The guys who bomb in zerg contexts are going to get either NB as a class to get nerfed or the set....
That's what I think about MYM at the moment.
Constant bombing...and not good bombing from one person...just zerg bombing.

just go into one of the lesser populated cyro's and you should be able to do most of the dailies before others show up to capture it. heck, even in the locked cyro's you can travel 3/4's of the map without encountering any players. the majority are where the current fights are.

imperial city on the other hand, if there's 10 players you're already stepping on each other. but the respawns are close so there isn't much travel needed even though this results in consistent pvp. in the packed ones if you follow the zerg from region to region you usually have plenty of time to do the quests or, even better, join one of the raid groups and half the quests will get done on their own.

to each their own, but cyrodiil is about as laid back as pvp gets while imperial city is just constant chaos when packed. both are fun if you're just looking for non competitive pvp. it just might take awhile for you to get a feel for what is going on, once you see the flow of how the zergfest behaves you could easily avoid the big fights and pve if that's all you wanted.

i enoy both pve and pvp but cyrodiil without pvp would definitely be big empty zone of boredom. considering you can already do the majority of the pve content in peace. the daily areas are more about timing.

Seems like there's less noobs around than usually. Like people have gone tired of getting killed and have made an actual PVP build.

No they just dont care about this event. The rewards are hardly worth the annoyance of pvp for most pver's

Aside from the performance I've had a blast.

Ive havent had much time for anything other than Cyrodiil, but it's been fun. Helped some PvEers take some towns. Capped some keeps and resources. Killed a lot. Died a lot. Made tons of AP.

    play DC or pact.
find the emptiest campaign for IC, during off hours. do all 6 quests, turn them in one per day, repeat once run out of completed quests 6 days later. port to Cyrodil, again emptiest campaign, do 2 quests in the nearest quest hub (hence playing pact or DC - if dominion has dailies in non flag town, I haven't found them. I prefer pacts as the quests are more contained then DC, but I play whatever seems to be the dominant in whatever empty campaign I find). leave Cyro, play in my normal style for a bit, log out.

on days where I'm just turning in completed quest in IC, I start with Cyro and then port to IC, because leaving IC is faster then Cyro and drops me off at whatever location I was when I queued up.

I got my laurel wreath years ago. I finished my red dye during last midyear mayhem. my SO doesn't play the game anymore so I have no incentive to run around pvp areas as a duo and join whatever fights look interesting not to mention that whole not being able to heal people outside of your group thing is a bummer (is it still a thing btw?), so I have no further interest in pvp in ESO. my event participation is limited to whatever bare minimum I can manage to get tickets and nothing more.

It's mostly been a lot of fun for me, despite my lack of interest in PvP. I love this event, although I haven't spent any time in the sewers yet like I normally like to do.

But as for the boon box drops-- yeah, I'm not seeing any of the style pages yet. Are they dropping for anyone else?

last time I was in Cyrodiil for PvP few months ago... Today I had a great laugh when I saw reds and yellows sieging poor Alessia Bridge :D I suggested my allies that they can use other ways if they want to get to Sejanus, but nobody there cared. So I didn't stay there, but based on map, this pointless siege continued for an hour or so:

    https://youtu.be/xlno6WtzOzI

    PgnKgNr.jpg

There was long pointless siege on the way to Ash as well:

    8Hpulfr.jpg

How it looked from the other side:

    CG6CjS3.jpg

Notice those forward camps in all cases  The castle is literally 10 seconds away, but still people waste camps on such pointless locations.

Overall this Midyear Mayhem is not worse than other years, everything is the same.
Battlegrounds lag horrible though, and I just do one-two of them every day. I stopped doing them often since there is no Deathmatch selective queue.

I still need 1 more rank to Legate, and I'm not sure I will manage that during this event :( I'm very tired of playing stamplar in Cyrodiil, cause many of my abilities also heal my allies - and this keeps me in combat often. These days, I suffer from new bug - I randomly dismount if somebody whom I've healed enters combat. This is super annoying, and can happen for long periods of time  After getting my Legate rank on this character, I won't play any class who can heal allies in Cyrodiil - until "in combat" bug is fixed :|

I used to enjoy it when there were more people fighting. I loved the epic ness of it. I am bad at pvp, but I like using seige engines.

That part of the game seems to have disappeared for the most part.

So now I just do the scouting quests on characters that are good at stealth. If I can do my dailies without even seeing an enemy player, I am happy.

both IC campaigns on xbox EU not even 1 bar, 8 pm german time (saturday).

Doing my daily there was a breeze.

IC is so dead already, and new world has even not yet been released.

    ---

cyro suffers from extreme lag at the resources. Never encountered this at earlier events.
Apart from that I enjoyed this distraction from my usual PVE dailies, already reached Tier 1 for 32 of my 36 toons.
Also was happy to see, that you can heal other players again, even if you are not in a group.

Unfortunately the frequent crashes are back, guess this is the price for activating proc sets again.

Loving it! I always enjoy the Mayhem and this one has been awesome so far. I reached Tribune today and got my first ever Knight of the Circle style page. I've wanted to get that style but held off buying because it felt like cheating. Now I've got one and have proven to myself I can get them, feels like a self-imposed barrier has been removed and I can now freely collect them.

Cyrodiil has been great fun, people getting stuck in and I'm never too far from an epic siege. Lots of action, bombers at every resource and keep door. It's a blast!

Lots of healers understatedly doing their thing which is very much appreciated but I don't often get a chance to say thank you on the battlefield. Healing is also a great place to start for newcomers because they make a difference while learning the ropes.

Bit of lag going on but eh, it was it is.

Never use to like this event until realized PVP is actually very fun and not scary and if treated better could outclass the PVE part. Really like having enough champion points to accommodate PVP and PVE builds on one character. Been a little laggy at times but good. Glad procs are back and bombers rampant. Was feeling little like PVP was getting stuck in a PVE meta situation.
