Do you like housing in ESO?

    Nah I never do housing.
I have one home from completing a quest in some zone and have unlocked some rooms after completing some dungeons and some quests in another zone.

Outside of that, I find purchasing housing to be very restrictive as we have to purchase the entire home upfront. It would be great to have a core part of the home to purchase upfront and then unlock rooms and sections as we can or want to.

    Yes but...
I just wish some of the housing wasn't limited time. Pets, Mounts, etc. sure whatever makes the accounts unique but the housing should not be among those. We get new players every day and even us vet players would like to buy a new house eventually. I feel like it's a buzz kill when you stumble upon a place and you can't buy it what so ever and a lot of these places you can't get are really cool. The housing itself could use more improvements.

More medium homes are warranted. More furniture that is grouped to save on slots is needed as well.

    YES I LOVE IT!!!
    I voted Yes, I love it, but I should have voted Yes, but... ^^;;

I love housing. I loved it in EQ2 (I still remember fondly the evenings that the guild spent together, decorating our guild house), I loved it in DAoC, I loved the Dragon Cave in Horizons and I wish WoW would have managed to finally implement good housing instead of that abomination of a garrison that we got.

That said, one of the reasons I love ESO is the housing. It gives me something to do when I don't want to chase dragons, converse with NPCs, open treasure chests or dig up antiquities. It's my quiet time in the game. It allows me to be creative and make a place uniquely my own in the game.

I own way too many of the houses and have furnished not even half that. When I started playing ESO again, I didn't realize that items in the shop would return, so I invested in a few of the limited time houses. I think I have all of the small and quite a few of the medium sized ones. Even some of the large ones (plus the ones we were given by ZOS ingame). It was when I realized that I was never going to be able to furnish the larger ones the way I envisioned because of the item cap, that I stopped buying. I haven't picked up any of the newer ones and I'm not going to. Not the ruins, not the chapel.

Some in my housing guild have blocked off most of the large houses and either just furnished the rest or built new stuff in the area available. I've only done the blocking once, and it felt very wrong to me. It's like buying a Porsche and then taking out the motor and taking off the wheels. It still looks nice, but it's no longer what you paid for.

Yes, my biggest complaint is the item cap. As long as that's not adressed, I'm not buying any more of the large houses. I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth if I spend 14k crowns on something that I can only use 1/10 of, if that.

I also intensely dislike the fact that many of the furnishings are only available via crown store and that I can't deconstruct them. Recipe aquisition is ridiculously difficult and makes them atrociously expensive. Most of the furnishings need a disproportionate amount of rare mats to craft. I can imagine that this makes housing unattractive to players, because they either don't have enough gold (to buy either recipes, mats or furnishings), or enough time (to farm mats and recipes). Not everyone can spend all day playing.

I also agree with those who said that the houses don't really have a purpose. Sure, I can put in a few crafting stations and putter away. But I can't use any of the furnishing, except for seating. With the even tighter limit on pets, mounts and houseguests, it's hard to make a house feel alive, even with the newly added pathing.

Real guild houses (for gold!) would be amazing! But not with a guest cap of 24 people.

At the moment, I get the feeling that ZOS is trying to placate its (housing) customers by starting threads like over on the housing forum, asking us for ideas and feedback - and then ends up ignoring us in the end.

I'm not sure whether ZOS realizes that housing is one of the 'big sells' of ESO (at least, I think it is... >.>)...

I have seen a lot of people only using a very small portion of a house and the given space with it.It is a shame because specially the big manors usually have beautiful surroundings what people totally miss out on because they simply can't use it.
On the other side,700 slots may not be that much but I find it overexaggerating when people say with that amount you can only furnish like 2 or 3 rooms.
Some people stuff up small spaces like there is no tomorrow,I personally do not like that either, for them I don't think any increase would be enough because some would be able to use 2000 furniture and still it wouldn't be enough for them.

True, you can stuff a lot into a small space. I do that sometimes, because I like it to be cozy.

But try 'furnishing' something like the Ayleid Ruins 'House' with 700 slots. Or the new Cathedral with fort that we're getting with Blackwood. By the time you're done with putting down a few chairs and tables (or whatever) to fill the first area, you're at the limit.

My Psijic Villa is furnished inside - but only half of it and the outside not at all, because I ran out of slots. I had a vision of what I wanted to make and had to stop halfway. It's kind of frustrating. Same with Hunding's Palatial Hall. Again, I had a very specific vision of what I wanted to do with it - and was able to only do about a third of it.

So the major frustration is with the bigger houses. A Wraithhome or Bastion Sanguinaris completely and *interestingly* furnished with 700 slots, without blocking off most of it or leaving most of it empty? I don't think it's doable, IMHO...

Despite the fact that I am responding to Lady Galadhiel herself, YES! I love it! I'm all thumbs when it comes to simulators and debuggers, and the the furnishings give a great feel for textures and lighting that I am always chomping at the bit to play with in-game.
    Karliah, when will you learn?!!

I think Ayleid ruin house should be a category for itself and not count as ''manor''.
Same as the Shalidor Realm or the Kushalit Sanctuary, there should be a sub-category for such homes because they are more structures than actual houses.
Zos could make more categories with different furniture limits for homes instead of throwing them all into the same sack.

The empty plots of land could easly have1200 slots as you are supposed to build something in those huge spaces, for example.

I only use houses as teleports.
if not for stupid low furniture limits I would have gotten into it.

ShutYerTrap (selectively mute NPC dialogues (stuga, companions); displayleads (antiquity leads location); UndauntedPledgeQueuer (small daily undaunted dungeon queuer window)

Would like items such as windows, doors and staircases/ladders. lot of time spent devising work arounds with frames and wall edges. one window normally needs 4 slots minimum.

Housing could be so much more, farming, live stock, freight hauling ( wagon master skill) tree farmer plant tree deliver wood to a town. More slots create your own town alive with people and animals. Aside from astetics. Portals to trials, or dungeons. So many possibilities. Jobs board but still need to turn in at a city or town. I feel like there are people out there who would love more functions for their homes especially the large ones.

    Nah I never do housing.
I have few rooms in inns and one huge house. I keep all of my furniture in the courtyard of my huge house. Every time I find furniture I leave it in the courtyard. One day I will have to sort it all out because I don't have any room in the courtyard.

Cant say I LOVE it but I do enjoy decorating my houses now and then.

I wish they would have more medium sized houses with yards available for in game gold. Seems like most lately are crown store exclusives and the only ones in game are tiny apartments.

I wish they would fix the floor in Piariah's Pinnacle. Trying to put objects on that uneven floor is terrible.
