This is just a bit ridiculous...
I belive if they would have put it up for 2500 crowns they would have tempted more people to buy it.
Just for being something new and for now ''unique'' a lot would have got it despite of they may never use it,but for the sake of having it.
If you stop looking at items in the crown store as being "must-haves", then it's not a problem. This type of item is there for very longterm players who have amassed piles of eso+ crowns and have nothing left to use them on. So they get a daft little graphic thing as a reward. Better that than something which affects gameplay.
If there are some people desperate enough for pixels that they buy and recycle crates solely for the morph, that's their own bad judgement. Just say no.
Somehow I missed the info about it being a a crown gem item, and I was prepared to get it for - what I assumed - around 2k crowns. What a huge dissapointment it turned out to be. I have enough gems, but I'm so sick and tired of this crown crap nonsense. I decided to cancel my sub, I'm not going to support this greed anymore.

No, it's a problem. It's great that you don't care about these things, but many people who do want to collect items like this (especially since the Polymorphs that you can earn in game are mostly lackluster) are basically told to either spend or dream. I understand that you do not care for these items but I do ask that you think about those of us who do care and want to RP. Regardless it makes no sense to price a polymorph more than your own game, expansions and DLC.
then found out that It's only a Female Polymorph with no sounds or anything so a huge deal breaker.
The Wild Hunt Transformation is way cooler in my opinion.

Yeah, that's what I don't get. They already had the assets for a male (or non-gendered) character skin, so why not use it as an alternative?

People who defend clown crates and the clown store in general as "iTs JuST CosMEtiC" forget that cosmetics are a huge part of mmos. Standing out and looking nice is a part of that and zos knows that. Hence the predatory gambling mechanics. The lengths people go to defned these scummy tactics always astounds me.

I'm a fan of Jim's video ripping into the "it's just cosmetic" excuse. Like yeah, it's totally just cosmetic so that's why video games never changed their graphics past the 8-bit era, right? It's just cosmetic. Replace everything in the game with stick figures or cubes. I mean, it worked for Minecraft, right?

To be honest I am really disappointed in ZOS. I really like the new polymorph and would pay 3-4k crowns for it, maybe more. Putting behind crown crates though is really really poor, and making it so expensive in regards to gems is just not on.
It's greed, pure and simple.

There is a lot of cool stuff that is behind that gambling box wall. ZOS should take the honorable path and make most of it available for direct purchase. While the upcoming Endeavors system is nice in that it allows you a (time consuming) way to get gems...it also is a bit of smoke & mirrors so ZOS can say "Well we have gambling boxes yes, but players can earn gems in game too."
