So who will get the new polymorph for 500 gems?

I am seriously not liking where ZOS is going with the Crown Gems... Can't believe I am thinking of going back to WoW, but at least I can earn the mounts and pets... If the new Endeavor system is not rewarding enough I don't know if I'll stick around much longer. This is just a bit ridiculous...

I belive if they would have put it up for 2500 crowns they would have tempted more people to buy it.
Just for being something new and for now ''unique'' a lot would have got it despite of they may never use it,but for the sake of having it.

I would have paid 5k without blinking an eye. But 500 gems? No way, especially since there just isn't a fixed exchange for them. Its like a casino using chips to trick you into thinking you arent spending money. Crowns already do that to some degree, but gems are twice removed from reality with a layer of RNG.

My first take on Gems was that they were a great way to mitigate the sting of Crate RNG, and were overall a healthy addition to an otherwise questionable system. But then came the radiant mounts and the gem only transactions. That is why I have not bought a crate in quite some time.

I have enough gems for a few mounts (not radiants), so I will probably just hold off until there is another Bear I just cant resist, but I am not going to play their gem game because its a trap intentionally designed to be deceptive in terms of cost.

Better that than something which affects gameplay.

If there are some people desperate enough for pixels that they buy and recycle crates solely for the morph, that's their own bad judgement. Just say no.

No, it's a problem. It's great that you don't care about these things, but many people who do want to collect items like this (especially since the Polymorphs that you can earn in game are mostly lackluster) are basically told to either spend or dream. I understand that you do not care for these items but I do ask that you think about those of us who do care and want to RP. Regardless it makes no sense to price a polymorph more than your own game, expansions and DLC.

Somehow I missed the info about it being a a crown gem item, and I was prepared to get it for - what I assumed - around 2k crowns. What a huge dissapointment it turned out to be. I have enough gems, but I'm so sick and tired of this crown crap nonsense. I decided to cancel my sub, I'm not going to support this greed anymore.

It's the only way to get change. Speak with your wallet. However, I bet they will make far more $$, from the takers, than the quitters.

I saved 500 gems for it while hoping for 200. Yep, 500 gems it is. I hate the price as I really want the Bloodroot Spriggan so I'm hoping it comes out as an event item like Impressario that's much easier to obtain through in game play. I don't want to have to spend 1000 gems plus more for the bloodroot senche. Not in COVID era.

I really like the Spriggan polymorph. It's a shame they hid it behind the gambling boxes, which makes it a hard pass for me. There is a lot of cool stuff that is behind that gambling box wall. ZOS should take the honorable path and make most of it available for direct purchase. While the upcoming Endeavors system is nice in that it allows you a (time consuming) way to get gems...it also is a bit of smoke & mirrors so ZOS can say "Well we have gambling boxes yes, but players can earn gems in game too."

People who defend clown crates and the clown store in general as "iTs JuST CosMEtiC" forget that cosmetics are a huge part of mmos. Standing out and looking nice is a part of that and zos knows that. Hence the predatory gambling mechanics. The lengths people go to defned these scummy tactics always astounds me.

I bought it, I regret it. It's a very high quality texture, but the fact that there are no custom animations or sounds really makes it not worth the 500 gems.

I would contact support and get a refund.

The wild Hunt Transformation is way better for only 100 gems

I was considering buying it at 400 Gems, Then Found out it 500, Still was open to the Idea, then found out that It's only a Female Polymorph with no sounds or anything so a huge deal breaker.

The Wild Hunt Transformation is way cooler in my opinion.

I really dont know I never saw a sprigan in the game.

I'm a fan of Jim's video ripping into the "it's just cosmetic" excuse. Like yeah, it's totally just cosmetic so that's why video games never changed their graphics past the 8-bit era, right? It's just cosmetic. Replace everything in the game with stick figures or cubes. I mean, it worked for Minecraft, right?

I was thinking of that exact video when I posted. It's truly sad the hoops some people will go to in order to defend gambling mechanics. Especially after this whole console debocial. It's litearlly a spit in those players faces.

I think the factotum would cost at least as much as the spriggan if they released it now, knowing what they can sell things for. 2018 prices look dirt cheap by comparison.

It was available just some weeks ago, I think at the clockwork city event.

It was available again several weeks ago. It was released in April of 2018.

Imagine the outrage if they had quintupled the price...

I grabbed it. It is rare that I am interested in anything in the crown store. I had 770 gems from past free crates, so I grabbed it. I see people upset with the lack of emotes, but I pretty much never use emotes. I don't even know what personalities do in the game, so I don't miss not having that customized. I might actually use it though, which I rarely do with cosmetics.

That seems like a really bad argument. There are plenty of ways to stand out in the game for free. You will stand out more by doing your own custom outfit than by wearing polymorph that looks identical to all who wear it, so this isn't really the thread for grinding that axe.

The 8-bit vs modern graphics argument is really bad. When you make an argument that extreme, it is not convincing. It is just hyperbole. It isn't like there is some separate graphics engine for crown store items.

To be honest I am really disappointed in ZOS. I really like the new polymorph and would pay 3-4k crowns for it, maybe more. Putting behind crown crates though is really really poor, and making it so expensive in regards to gems is just not on.

    It's greed, pure and simple.

It's like Boiling Frog Syndrome. They very very slowly slowly increased the prices and gradually added other so called "micro-transactions". Unfortunately there are a lot of Whales out there who will impulsively gobble this crud up, thus incentivizing the plague of Cash Shops and Loot Boxes in Video Games.

I got her too now on one server, where I could buy 30 crates from a crownseller I trust.
They dropped 300 gems, so I have more than 400 left as reserve for costumes.

The look is pretty cool, and I like that she is taller than the character. Looks impressive.
During attacks I missed the typical spriggan screams. She has a few noises, but not enough to mimic a spriggan imho.
She does not whistle when you mount, despite showing the corresponding emote, could be categorized as bug or inconsistency.

As I play only female characters, no prob with her gender. In fact I never saw a male spriggan, so it is correct concerning the lore, if she is always female, even on male characters.
It is a polymorph, not a skin, so you slip into the role of the polymorph, hence a female.

I have seen people in guildchat regretting to have bought her because of the gender, I am overall glad I bought her.
And converted to gold, it equals approx 1.3 mio on xbox, so timbercrow wanderer category.
Too high for casual players, acceptable for those who trade each day and have several million gold meanwhile.

    ----
    notes:
using the wildhunt memento destroys her texture, that looks ugly:

That's the point and problem with things like micro-transactions, gambling, and predatory practices in todays video game industry, therein lies the problem. The bigger question is, who will change first; the consumer or the company? Until then, this is how it is...

Hopefully real life legislators will step in. We've had news of microtransactions being banned or regulated under gambling laws in some European countries.
