Swirls around new mementos. Bug or intended?

So... I've searched for a discussion like this but with no luck. Decided to create it myself.
Question is: what's the point behind new effect added to resent crate and prologue mementos?
That white swirl completely destroys the immersion. And screenshots if someone wants to take one with these mementos.
Should I report this? Or was it intentional and for what reason?

✭✭It's a weird bug, and it should be reported.
Apparently, mementos give CC immunity - and now it actually shows as visual effect on the character using a memento
