As others have pointed out, if you're having trouble seeing stuff on your map, make sure that your map filters are checked properly. Cyro is notorious for unchecking those for some reason. (its the funnel looking thing)

Now is a great time to try out some new builds! I looked at my PvE magplar that I haven't played in like a year and wondered how she'd fare in Cyro. I found some Kagrenac's Hope in my bank, couldn't find a good second set so decided to stay with my War Maiden pieces. But I didn't have all War Maiden jewelry...so I made a Wild Hunt ring because that's the only mythic I bothered to get. 5 pc Kagrenac's, 4 pc War Maiden, Zaan, Wild Hunt. Destro/resto because I couldn't find a 1h/s. Changed like two skills because I'm out of skill points and hopped into Cyro. I died a LOT because I have no idea what's on my bars and my skills keep failing to fire, but it's been hilarious. Her horse has like 5% speed so it's faster to run everywhere but she has no stam because she's a magplar. To everyone who killed me earlier, you're welcome!
PC NA, CP2500+. Character creation is the true endgame.

I walked into bgs on my pve stam sorc and ironically most pvpers can't counter me so i end up holding a flag against 2 full enemy teams and they can't move me. And rest of team just ran around dominating other flags.

If these are your first few BG games, you're matched with begginers, likely PvEers especially during MYM, due to the MMR system. When you reach higher MMR, you'll encounter hardcore PvPers.
No improvement on Cyrodill servers -> no ESO plus renewal.

Having now visited Cyrodiil on my crafter in her speed gear, who specifically contracted vampirism in order to go there and be able to sneak at full speed...where are all the nodes? I've come across a few runestones but I ran all over the map and there's hardly anything else. I hoped with the double drops I might be able to do some anxiety-inducing sneak-gathering, but it looks like I'm better off running around literally any other zone. Is this normal?

Actually, Cyrodiil in general looks incredibly empty, landscape wise. I never really stopped to notice it before as on the rare occasions I go there I'm mostly zooming between keeps trying to get those AP ticks, but there are huge stretches of empty fields with the occasional tree. Talos had it wrong, it would have been cooler to fight in a jungle.

It's extremely normal, unfortunately. There's literally no point in gathering resources there unless you're on the way to a place and you see something useful like cornflower. I really wish they'd increase the node density there, it feels like it's a normal areas worth spread across three times the space.

Doing PvE quests in Cyrodiil (Cheydinhal) and I found a recipe for a Colovian War Torte.
    Sold it for 1,000,000 gold.
So now I can just buy the event motifs instead of getting ganked while fighting bosses in Imperial City.

At first there were lots of groups forming in IC. I don’t know why it’s hard to get into one now, whether everyone’s full or engaged in specific activities and don’t want potatoes, Idk. I try to sneak, and this works much of the time, but there are gankers who are on the lookout close to spawn and quest points, which is just low IMHO. A group running around doing objectives and quests — sure I expect them to kill any enemy they come across and I often see them in time and avoid. People I come upon 1v1 or so, it’s hard to know what to do... I really don’t want to seem to be jumping people from stealth myself, but suddenly coming upon someone, they are as likely to attack me regardless of what I do. I know I killed one person questing in IC who didn’t want to fight and I am sorry for that. My build, such as it is, is activate and burst — not that it works against tanky PvPers in crazy proc sets etc., but sometimes it takes out NPCs quick — and players I would have rather spared. 😔

IC has been mostly frustrating for me of late; when it’s groups running around fighting one another and the tanky 1vX PvPers, I have fun, especially as we may complete several dailies, a boss or so, and maybe some PvP while we’re at it. It’s not the dying but the sense of zero chance or sportsmanship that frustrates me. I’m not talking about those I randomly come across as how could either of us guess what the other is doing perhaps before it is too late?

Anyway, I would like to eventually explore IC and do the story and I’m hoping that will be possible outside the event. For now when I get aggravated, it’s just time to queue elsewhere...

I don’t think this is possible — or where is this possible??? It definitely is not possible in Cyrodill.

I was taking a break from PvP and working on skyshard and delve completion. I saw a player of another Alliance in the delve so hung back and stayed stealth. They were lower CP and not so fast in killing the NPCs so maybe I could have taken them, especially after a boss fight, but I’m not that kind of nightblade. I was surprised when I found they had died in a tunnel beyond and would have rezzed them if I could. :frowning:

So I was in an Imperial City district up on the safe entry platform and decided to descend back down to base for something. Then I noticed that my clannfear was perched on the bottom rung of the ladder, with my twilight matriarch fluttering above:

Who else is having difficulty completing the Wrath of the Whitestrike achievement? I confirmed that it does indeed require the killing blow but sadly, I don’t think that siege counts as I’ve had bounties tick up and even though in several of those casing I believe it was THE killing blow, my achievement count remained unaffected. :disappointed:

I’ve overall been having a good time this event, especially in Cyrodill, even though we’re losing this particular campaign do to a lack of ball groups and such, oh well, I enjoy the people I run with and we’ve even recovered some scrolls! :)

But I’d really like to complete this achievement for the furnishings and the overarching achievement but I’m still six short. :'(

I’m on a magicka warden so no executes available. Maybe I should try a few BGs and hope for some opponents who aren’t unkillable gods of war like I often get... :astonished:

I looked at my achievements and apparently I've managed to kill 2 people. I think the one was a person who attacked me in one of the towns while I was doing quests. I was waiting until they finished the fight with the flag guys before dropping off my quest because I know its a video game, but attacking someone helping civilians is something I can't do. This person came running over to attack me and died to the flag guys, my bear and maybe I got a hit in. I wouldn't have attacked. I literally have no idea where' the other kill came from.

My first combo killed him before my frag even landed. He was pretty juicy in the tel var department, so apparently it worked on someone. Haha

Its kind of funny seeing Cyro this morning a lot emptier than last week around Monday.

I believe its because a lot of people were interested in buying the sets from the golden, and now that there's not really anything to buy the motivation for grinding AP seems to have lessened.

Personally, I think there'd be a lot more interest for the full event if we allowed the golden to sell all the jewelry for everyday the whole event, up until the end.

Thank you so much, but I was able to finish it off fairly quickly in a few Battlegrounds after all! I wasn’t sure whether they’d count or not since they don’t for the bounty quests, but they do count for the achievement, thankfully! :)

It’s kind of weird what the different quests and achievements require, isn’t it? At least it is to a PvP newb like me! For the bounty quests, the kills must be in Cyrodill or IC but no killing blow required, can be accomplished with siege (in Cyrodill) or even by group members (may need to be within a certain distance, perhaps so long as you’re considered to be at the same battle location).

But for achievements, it must be the killing blow by you, personally, not a group member and not even by siege, to my disappointment. Fortunately, battlegrounds do count and this is the easiest way to get such achievements. Focus on anyone whose healthbar actually drops (don’t ask me why this isn’t everyone, Idk) and you will surely get credit for some! I got my final six kills in two battlegrounds.

And I totally agree regarding questers. I would go without my achievement before I would stoop to trying to jump people questing, helping civilians, fighting daedra; that’s just, no.

Another story from yesterday. On my way from a scouting mission deep in AD territory I came upon an active dolmen. I didn't complete any dolmens in Cyro up until that point so I thought that it was my time to shine. Unfortunately there was a sole AD player doing a dolmen. As we established I'm a potato so I didn't want to spook the player and get killed, or otherwise kill them myself if they also were a potato. So I started sneakily picking off the enemies on the other side of the central column and activating pinions without them noticing. We completed the dolmen and I'm fairly certain AD guy didn't notice I was there.

You had a big blue shield floating above your head. I guarantee they noticed you but realised you weren't there for it, just for the dolmens. I've had this happen before myself when I went to clean them all up.

Yeah, he just got lucky. Even as a bloodthirsty PVPer myself there are times when it’s better not to attack. 1 on 1 at a Cyrodiil Doleman is near the top of the list.

Speaking only for myself sometimes when I’m riding solo and don’t think I can take the guy (or have better things I’m on the way to do) I’ll ride up to them at full speed on rapid maneuvers simply just to spook them into getting off their mount.

Just to clarify, I positioned myself so that I didn't see the other player's shield, on the other side of this thingy in the middle of a dolmen. And I went kill->cloak->kill->cloak, rinse and repeat. Maybe they saw me, maybe they didn't, I still found it funny. Oh and my shield would be red, not blue. =)

Haha. In my defense, I usually don't attack first in IC if I can tell they are questing, especially during MYM. Always kill on sight in Cyro, unless they are sub 500 CP, but that's a different debate.

It was funny because there was another guy in the vicinity as well. We were both clearly doing the same IC daily quest, and he was only about CP 400, so I just left him alone. We actually did pretty much the whole quest side by side. At the last Ogrim trap, the templar in question opened from stealth. Maybe he thought he was getting a 2v1, but the guy I quested with watched his faction member explode in about two seconds. He hopped a few times and then just walked away. I was going to feel bad if I had to kill them both, especially after our friendly questing adventure.

    @Ashryn

That is simply not possible. You cant res a player of another alliance. Pretty much the only thing you can do to a dead enemy of another alliance is a good old fashioned bagging. Either a made up story or the person you res'ed was not the person that killed you. Very possible you got ganked while trying to res and didnt realize.

I logged in on the PC EU server last night to grind scouting missions and capture resource missions for reward boxes before the daily reset, to try to get enough bone fragments to complete my third Breton dog. Lo and behold, DC had the entire map, so I decided it was the perfect time to go for the skyshards in the AD and EP bases.

As I was grabbing the first skyshard in the western AD base-- conveniently close to the resource I needed to scout-- I noticed that the keep was being retaken by AD. I managed to escape through the gate before they closed it, then rode furiously to the eastern AD base to grab that skyshard.

After grabbing the two AD skyshards, I rode far enough north to a DC-controlled keep and ported as close to the southern EP base as possible, then dashed in and grabbed that skyshard. Next, I rode to the northern EP base to grab the last skyshard. As I was leaving the northern EP base, I was able to capture the resource for my other mission, conveniently located just outside the northern EP gate-- which was why I'd decided to grab that skyshard last.

It felt great to be able to grab all four of the hardest-to-get skyshards on my PC EU main in a single session. Now I can grab the rest of the Cyrodiil skyshards at my leisure.

Since DC still controlled most of the keeps-- except for the ones that AD was in the process of retaking to close their gates-- I was able to grab and complete more scouting and resource missions several times before the daily reset. I got one of the two bone fragments I needed to complete my third Breton dog, and managed to get the tenth fragment after the reset when I was in the Imperial City, and then back to Cyrodiil again, getting my final tickets and reward boxes.

PC NA was another matter. I also needed two more bone fragments, but was only able to get one of them in the reward boxes, so I tried to grind scouting and resource missions to farm more boxes. Unfortunately, AD controlled the entire map, and while I was riding far south to my first scouting mission I got spotted and killed by an AD player. By then it was so late and I was so tired that I decided to just give up and go buy the final bone fragment.

All in all, it was a very fun, mostly enjoyable, and occasionally frustrating MYM event for me. Aside from finally grabbing those AD and EP skyshards on my PC EU main, the best part of the event was finally being able to solo-capture a resource with my PC EU main. Since I haven't respecced or regeared him, or changed his skill bars at all, it was mostly just a matter of being persistent enough to work out the best rotation of skills to get the job done. Oddly enough, I can now solo resources faster on my PC EU main than on my PC NA main, because my PC EU main has slightly higher DPS.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!
