Remove Random Battleground

Removing the option to choose which gamemode you want to play in BGs is the absolute dumbest decision ZOS has ever made. I think they should redo it and let me play the gamemode I want to play!

As far as we can tell, in order to keep the queue times reasonable, ZOS will only split the Battleground population one way.

Its like there's 3 Options; you can only pick 2 of them.
    Options:
    Reasonable queue times
    Separate group/solo queues
    Choose the game mode

    So do you want?
Option 1: Original flavor, with solo and groups in the same queue, with your choice of game mode (Solo players complained)

Option 2: Update 25 flavor, with solo-only queue and no groups, with your choice of game mode (group players complained)

Option 3: Current flavor, with separate group and solo queue, but no choice of game mode (players who want specific modes complained)

Option 4: Seperate group/solo queues, choice of game mode, but at the expense of much longer queue times for less popular game modes.

As far as we see from ZOS, Battlegrounds just doesn't have enough population to allow for the hypothetical "Option 5" which has all three: separate group/solo queues, choice of game mode, AND reasonable queue times.

They should never let players choose their gamemode. This will allow for tweaking their characters for just those modes.

I really like how the queues are now, solo and team queue. This helps seperate the solo players from the premades. Which so far seems to result in more fair/even teams.

The big problem with never letting players choose game modes is that ZOS designed rewards and achievements with the design that players would be able to choose in mind. Titles, achievements, and style pages are split up between different game modes. When players can no longer choose, the grind for those things becomes an uncertain and prohibitive length.

I'm so fed up by all those random matches too... :s For me, Deathmatch has very low chance, and highest are Capture the Relic and Chaosball. I'm not sure how much longer I will be able to endure this - maybe until I have Legate Black color, and then I'm done with BGs :D

The thing is, PvPers will eventually get them. Farming a specific gearpiece in PvE works the same, random!
It is only to those who do not enjoy PvP, where it becomes a burden to farm a specific something in PvP.

I'd prefer to keep the random mode.. stops people from making builds for specific game modes

And that's why I play cyro for pvp even though I don't like cyro much. I'm trying to get better at fighting, not chasing some speed build with a ball, or a perma block on a flag.

PVE gear farming is a bad analogy. There you've got three gear sets, but at least you can pick the correct dungeon.

In this case, its a lot closer to trying to get the right Undaunted shoulder from the RNG chest. You've got six options, and you are hoping to get the one you want in the right weight. Except that instead of running pledges to build up your currency, every wrong shoulder results in you wasting your time in the queue to do a game mode you didn't want, and having to queue again.

I dunno, maybe you enjoy all 6 game modes equally. Maybe you don't mind that it'll mean playing even longer trying to complete some of the grindier achievements in Capture the Relic, Chaos Ball, or Land Grab. Maybe it doesn't bother you that not only are the style pages locked by match type, but some of them get rarer as you complete the set (thanks to ZOS' brilliant RNG decisions) requiring even more playtime to get the last ones you need.

    "PVPers will get it eventually!"

Look, maybe its just me, but I suspect that I'm not the only PVPer who enjoys PVP, and still isn't thrilled that the grind for farming style pages and achievements became more of a burden than it was.

And that's not even mentioning the segment of PVP folks who don't care about style pages or achievements - they just want their Deathmatch and if they don't get Deathmatch, they'll still play the game like its a Deathmatch.

Do you get pvp rank in bgs? I always thought it is exclusive to cyrodil

Every BG match gives some AP, and AP always contributes to the PvP rank (even that AP which we can get from daily login rewards) :)

If they insist on keeping the queue random then they should raise the chance of deathmatch to 50%. I'm bloody tired of capture the relic.

And I hate deathmatch. Worst BG, imo.
