That's 4.6k gold per day from 1 character and 50k per day if you have 9 characters. This is completely unfounded money. Players just make money out of thin air. As a result, we accelerate inflation, which will soon be out of reach. Just remove the gold from the awards. Players are already getting gold materials that they could sell.

Writs haven't destroyed the economy during the last 6 years of the game's lifespan, I don't anticipate them suddenly doing so.

    50k per day is nothing.

I think it's more like 3-4 years since their introduction, but in any case it's been long enough for you

When was the crafting writ system introduced? :)

    Hello everyone,

Recently we've had to remove a few posts for bait and flame, content that is against the Forum Rules. For further posts be sure to stay constructive and respectful to avoid thread derailment or action on one's own account.

    Thank you for understanding.

I'm not the sharpest spoon in the drawer, but I am still in the drawer. Fairly certain this entire thread was made to bait.

You might be correct. He put so much effort into it though it would be rude to not respond.

Well, I see very few people here really understand the essence of the problem. I will try to explain.

Alternatively: you have imagined a nonexistent problem and literally no one agrees with you because your ideas are terrible and you are a walking example of Dunning-Kruger.

We may never know for sure. 🤷‍♂️

I hope so. But no one convinced me otherwise. Now in the game, I see a sharp increase in the cost of gold materials and crowns.

also, complaining about the price of crowns:gold is in very poor taste... You realize those cost people real money to purchase... and there's a lot of people right now who are struggling with that due to a global pandemic, massive job losses, etc...

Don't overuse this topic. I do not think that a person who has lost his job will sell crowns.

    No, they probably won't.

Now, if someone who lost their job but was still playing "for free" had, oh let's say 110 million gold for example, and they wanted a mount, or the alfiq banker and merchant, they could *buy* crowns from a seller and get the items they wanted. Of course if the writs and other sources of gold were nerfed, that wouldn't happen.

Writs were introduced toward the end of 2014 (I have a screen shot of the alchemy bug dated Dec 13, 2014)

They all add to the inflation in the game. Which, I might add, is far far lower compared to the inflation I saw in both WoW & SWTOR when I played those games.

Its because theres somewhere between 175,000 and 225,000 writs worth of gold removed from each server each week just for hiring guild traders.

Gear repair costs, costs to obtain housing, and teleport costs are also relatively higher than other games equivalents.

This thread is an awesome lesson in micro and macro economics in a circular system. I learned more about pure market theory reading some replies here than I did at school/college.

Thanks for the patient teacher-ly replies to the OP explaining the fundamentals. I might actually make some more gold as a result.
