Weapon Glyph Appearances Included In Outfit

Make it so Zeni... So sick of the gross dirty-orange oil-slick on my Stam-Drain Weapon Glyphs. We can mask every other aspect of our character's appearance. So why are Weapon Glyphs an exception?

Don't you want to charge us outrageous prices for newly introduced unique Weapon Glyph appearances in the Crown Store!? I would have thought that, surely this would be one of the most obvious cash-grabs at your disposal! Its honestly shocking that it hasn't been done yet...

    I support the OP's idea :)

I don't care about wings and halos, but I would be very interested in getting glowing disco weapons and awesome motorcycle mount(s)

i agree, the posibility to give your weapon a glyph glow of your choice would indeed be cool!

This is something I've wanted for quite some time. I especially dislike the lightning damage glyph effect. I suppose it might look okay on some weapons depending on the color/style. My characters usually go with softer earth tones that match the general style of the game and most glyph effects hurt that look.

The only pet peeve I have on this matter is the fact that enchants/poisons show up while on the Outfit menu. I'd like being able to actually see what the weapon will look like when dyed, and it's nigh impossible when there's a fancy moving pattern on top of it.

That, and the fact that we can't move around/zoom on the character while editing. So many times part of a weapon just gets cut off the top of the screen. Either a staff or a 2H sword. Why do I need to play the crouching dance to get a complete view of my character? That, and face paint/accessories/hats. We get a zoomed preview on the Crown Store (of course we would...). Why am I forced to squint at the screen when I'm trying the things I already paid for, or have to leave the menu every time so I can check the face up close?

Anyway I digress. Yes. Patterns on (previewed) weapons. Boo.

A hide enchant thing would be nice.

While we're at it, it would be nice to be able to hide the mayonnaise splattered over our weapons after casting rapids or forward momentum.

You could just sheath your weapons. That makes the glyph visual go away. But I hear what you're saying..

A hide enchant thing would be nice.

That would be a decent 1st step. We can hide our mount's visual accessories, via the Settings \ Gameplay menu; and our headwear, via Collections \ Appearance tab. So why not weapon glyph visuals?

I still want to be able to change their appearance though, via the Outfit Station. I really don't think that's asking too much.

If we could also get the option to turn off the visual effects imposed on out characters, by other characters abilities, that would be great. Looking at you DKs. <_<

I didn't put time and gold into my character's appearance, only to have that effort flushed down the toilet, as soon as Molten Weapons (or some-such) is cast.

Did it not occur to anyone at Zeni that maybe we don't want our characters to be spray-painted with lava-vomit?

I remember modding Morrowind and Oblivion, back in the day... And, in those games, any visuals that took-on a distinctly 3D appearance - like flames or crackling lightning or whatever - were baked into the weapon model itself; completely defined there. They remained fixed; unchangeable without editing the weapon's model itself. Which clearly would not be something one could do, while the game was still running.

To a lesser extent, the 'shrink-wrap-like' paint jobs also referred to an internal component of the items model, but could be defined or re-defined, while the game was running. This would be most easily illustrated by enchanting a weapon for the first time.. If the enchantment wore off, the visual effect would cease. As well, you could also remove an item's enchantment via a console-command, and get the same result. Not "console", as in XBOX or PlayStation; for those who might think I mean something I don't.. Either way, it was possible to turn on or off, or change altogether, this 'shrink-wrapped' visual, via features already native to the games.

I would imagine Skyrim functioned much the same, with regard to this topic. As it would be more trouble than it was worth to design these aspects of the game in any other manner, I am quite confidant that they function much the same, still. And that means that making such features available to players would probably be far less work than most might think.

This could even be a feature that our characters actually access, via the Enchanting Station! Maybe lock access to it behind an Enchanting passive..? As opposed to it being a box we toggle on/off, in the games menu, I mean.
