Can we get at least a token of apology?

ZoS, you have done a lot of unpro updates, but Markarth is horribly bad even by ESO standards.
I don't have to justify that here, you should already know.
You have to do something besides fix the biggest problems (freezing everywhere, DCing very very often, and lots of problems with skills).
You have to do something to make your customers LIKE you again.

Not a free pet either.

I'm suggesting give everyone a huge present. Something really big. "Thank you for sticking with us even when we mess stuff up. We love you."

Something like 4k free crowns. Or 1mil in-game gold. Or SOMETHING big and generic, that individuals can use for whatever it is they like.

I just want them to fix the problem. Call me foolish but my priorities are simply wanting the game to work. I could care less about 4k crowns if the game is not working.

    Edit: And what @sevomd69 said.

As much as i like double bonus weekends, and all, I agree that all it would do is unbalance the economy for a while, and the bugs would remain.

Fixing the bugs is of course main and most important priority but

    1) they are never going to be fixed. they will be changed, replaced, etc.
    2) its more than bugs, its the way ZoS has treated us - not really giving a damn about giving us broken stuff

so before the bugs are fixed, aplogize.
best way to apologize is to also give us something fun. (gold, crowns, maybe 10x the mats for a few days since flower-picking is almost the only thing we can do atm)

    and fix the bugs!

point is, its not just bugs, its disrespect. So correct the bugs and also apologize for the disrespect.

This is wrong on so many levels. I am 100% against this and hope that this company does not do this. The solution is not to make a bad product but bribe the customers with incentives. The only solution is to fix the product. Hold the company to high standards. Don't lower your standards.

I have little care for material compensations. Fixing things and stop pretending to the public that ESO is beloved and going well even though the opposite seems to be true (by glancing over what those actually playing the game have to report), would be more than enough.

Being treated like people for once would be nice, but I prefer deeds over words. No one here actually knows what is going on behind the scenes or how ZoS sees the game and its players. I think everyone would be quick to forgive when things became better and there was more effort visible.

Not a single soul is here on the forums, complaining and writing, if it was not for them being very passionate about the game. I am sure to assume that everyone here wants to see the game get better and realize its full potential and receive the support and investment it requires, not this emergency life support we have since a good few years now. Nobody is here because they hate ESO and associates. It is the years long neglect, disregard and downward thrust that makes everyone angry.

Yet everyone, no matter if in game or forums, complains. This is not a few isolated cases, but apparently everyone who has a voice.

Maybe ESO really has a staggering amount of silent casual players that have absolutely no problem with it. Though those players are well known to no stick around for long. Those that speak and actually care, are the ones that would remain if ESO would be fixed.

I am just assuming. Although at this point, you can no longer swipe it aside or deny it. Everyone seems very upset.

Technically this is incorrect. Just because someone is gifted crowns and uses them to purchase something in the crown store, does not mean that same person would spend real money on crowns so there is no technical loss in this scenario. Crowns are digital and can be used over and over infinitely (in practical terms). Crown store items are also digital and infinite and cost nothing to duplicate.

Now, could there be people who are gifted crowns that would have otherwise purchased them? Absolutely! But a company "making good" on their mistakes will cost them real life money, and it should, its literally part of business and part of what keeps a products design in check. Eliminating the need for a company to be responsible for their bad decisions only hurts them even more in the long run. I would argue that is why ESO gets worse with every patch, no accountability to the customer.

If you want behavior to change the only way is to apply financial pressure, Unsub and dont buy crowns.

If enough people did that siting the treatment of players/ lack of engagement/ bugs etc as the reason the company would take notice.

    They would not.
You can also hear ZoS saying that they will continue as long as ESO grows and thrives.
You think they will suddenly wake up when the game loses more players and makes less money? I doubt it. They will just discontinue it all together and that's it.

At least that it how it sounds to me when I read their PR statements.

I dont owe the company I work for anything other than an effort to do better, when I underperform. Otherwise I get let go.

Translate that. ZOS doesn't owe you anything other than their continued effort to do better. Or else, just stop playing.

This feeling of deserving payment from a video game is starting to get out of hand. I've never seen this from any other game community. I'm serious. You do know what normal people do right?

Just STOP playing. You dont like what's happening. Leave. Play something else.

There is a fundamental difference between working for a company and being a customer of a company. This is not even remotely a good comparision.

Actually that depends. There are laws to protect customers from businesses not making good on the transaction/purchase.
    For example: Lemon laws.
    ArchMikem wrote: »

No one is asking to get paid for the terrible state of the game, people are asking for compensation for money they have already paid.
For example: You visit a restaurant, you pay for food, the food is half cooked/raw, you want your money back/compensation. This is completely reasonable on the customers behalf. Simply, people want the product they paid for and in the case of a game its reasonable to expect the bugs to be minimal, which is not the case currently in game.
    ArchMikem wrote: »

This is like throwing the raw food in the trash and spending more money at a different restaurant to eat. This is NOT what customers should be doing, they should be holding the establishment they spent their money at accountable.

    Yeah gl.

Just look at the massive difference between how the community and the team behind fallout 76 treated that game.

Zenimax media isn't the only company that cares more about good pr than an actual good, working product.

For ESO, bringing in new players, so they can show growth, and encouraging $$ spending is all they care about.
It has been like this for a long time.
The fact that their combat balance team was tasked with fixing cyrodiil performance should tell you how serious the company is about delivering a working product.
