It IS simply done. I've done it myself in Ragnarok online, I was a bot-baning GM and I did my job pretty danm right. You just walk into the dungeon and whisper to the bot "Mr askjdalksdjasdk -typical name of the bots- I'm from the Staff, please answer to me or your account might get baned." "I just saw you killing that boss, I know you are there, please asnwer to me." *keeps talking to him for 5 minutes in different chats*. After 5 minutes of no answer, you ban him and take screenshot for when the bot owner comes to complain to the forums. If you want to avoid people arguing that they were not paying attention to the chat window, you just teleport the player to somewhere else and keep talking to him until you got the proof he's a bot. Done. It's as simple as that. One person could do the job. I could do the job. It's really the easiest thing in the world. ZOS is not taking measures at all.Koltiros1005b14a_ESO wrote: »There are numerous threads about this, ZOS knows it and issue and they ARE handling it, maybe not in the public outcry domination way that you'd like it to be, however banning bots is not simply done, it requires that YOU the player give detailed reports on the botters and that the ZOS team reviews these reports to determine if said botter was actually botting, they can't afford to ban people falsely based on loose information. If they were really baning accounts, people wont be doing it so much. Who would spend 60 bucks to get their accound baned a couple of days after? Something is not being done right, I can assure you that.Oblongship wrote: »Yeah they banned thousands of people...No they have taken no action at all...
Every think they are working on ways to fix this? Just because the result isn't instant doesn't mean it isn't being worked on..
Be patient.

That's my point. Manual cleaning in this game is a reaaally easy thing to do since bots are so limited in their interactions. In Ragnarok they teleported when you talked to them, disconnected, talked back, it was much harder to prove they were bots, yet I baned like 20 bots a day, and I wasn't even payed to do it.Dudegeridoo wrote: »I thinks Zenimax are making preparations for some big anti bots procedure.
The problems is, until that "thingy" come to live, they need to make some "manual" cleaning.

Ragnarok is a 2-bit game played by 12 year olds, you're comparing that to a world of pixelated adult brutality created by people with their masters degree in the computer arts, also Ragnarok or whatever the hell it is, isn't holding a big name brand that supports its title like BETHESDA! Your argument could not be more irrelevant here. Also if they placed a GM in the dungeon to creep on these botters and just stand there, real players would gather around them and whine about bugs, it's a GM's job to NOt be apparent in the gaming atmosphere, instead of being the sunlight on a 12 year olds day. And before you use the stupid excuse that they could go invisible or what have you, they would still need to open chat up. So shut up mister Ragnarok GM and let REAL people of business do their job as they HAVE been doing as evidenced by threads like:

That post is from 2 weeks ago.. and bots are still everywhere. Something's not right, don't you think? Now, I don't expect to see no bots from one day to another but the boss farming groups of 4-5 bots you see on every dungeon? How come they didn't ban those? How come people are still using them there if they're getting baned?Koltiros1005b14a_ESO wrote: »Here I found one on bots, enjoy it I know I did.

I especially like the part where she mentions bots.

I often go into the dungeons and farm boss mobs for crafting mats, that's how I make money. Every dungeon though, EVERY one I went to at level 43 was camped by a group of bots. I gave up (Thats my source of income, guess I need a new one, maybe buying gold from my new Bot overlords?)
So, I went to coldharbor to do some questing. There was a group of bots just running in a circle killing undead in the Cliffs of Failure. In Cold harbor! Not even a dungeon.
How do groups of bots get all the way up to level 40+ without getting banned?! These are groups of 4 templars, wearing no gear, just weapons that kill anything that comes near them. They have names like kys, ooa, jfm, xco, etc.
Seems like gross negligence by the devs. I get bots camping the low level dungeons, its hard to ban every NEW account. But, to get all the way to level 41 with bots and not get banned?! Insane! They are not hiding it, and people are reporting it.
It even became the way of knowing where the boss spawns, just follow the bots lol.Koltiros1005b14a_ESO wrote: »It isn't even a game breaking thing, you hardly see any bots in the later areas, if they are farming common soul gems and below par blues, whoopee freakng do.
Hardly See any bots? I really wish I'd had time to hit the Rift before maint. I only got video up to Shadowfen and starting into Eastmarch.
There are Bots in dungeons all the way up now. If you're not seeing them, you're either not in the dungeons - or you somehow have Divine Intervention placing you into the One instance of each dungeon you visit that has few or no bots.
And bots tying up A Single boss in a Single dungeon is game breaking - to the character/player who has just leveled up to the point of doing that dungeon.
There's a difference between doing it with 5 different accounts at the same time, while you being afk, and doing it while actually playing the game.So...basically you are saying you camped bosses to make money and now gold farmers are doing exactly what you were doing and your angry about that...
You don't realize camping bosses takes away from other players until you had it done to you...gg
While i have seen a few suspicious behaviour next to bosses, where are all these bots, guys?
Is it a matter of server? On the EU server we arent overrun by bots.
