The Final Assault ( Open the Library Gate) bug

NW gate doesn't activate after touching flame, I watched a youtube of a guy doing it how its suppose to work but i don't get the option to press E from the same location. Also watching folks getting naked and jumping off to try get it and it does appear to work for some of them. I'm pretty much stuck here till this issue is resolved

    after an hour or so of jumping off the top i ended up getting it, this needs fixed spending all the time jumping to my death is not enjoyable at all

    This is completely ridiculous. I've been trying for more than an hour. Nothing works.

    I am in the same situation as the people above. Currently there are multible people at the place i am in trying to jump off the top pillar to make it work.
    This problem needs to be resolved asap since it crusial to the main quest for all

    guys, i figured it out... you need to jump from the pillar, adjacently left to the gate (as in, 90 degrees to the left, NOT directly at it) and then turn your mouse to it in the air. i got it first try using this method as it has a very long window where you are able to press the ''use'' button.

    so it's still a bug, but in essence only needs one death to rectify it :) enjoy the next stage!

    I did manage to do the jump and get the gate open. I still think this is a bug and it should be fixed asap

    defintly a bug (not even these guys would make a design that you have to jump to your death to complete a quest) There is a youtube video showing how it was supposed to work, but it is simply bugged right now. Died plenty last night until finally got it just right while dying

    Unfortunately, it's a bug that highlights the cause of so many bugs, which concern an interactive object you have to click at just the right angle. There's something fundamentally flawed with that design choice that sends out ripples. I'd say 90% of the bugs I've encountered have to do with interactive hit boxes in some fashion. Even the other furnaces that were working right in this quest were annoying to try and hit just right.

    Wait till you get to the next step in the quest and get NPC blocked because Gabrielle is bugged too

    I did, and I logged, came back and was alone and the NPC had reset - perhaps I was lucky, but I *just* finished this on NA. Still unhappy about how much time and frustration involved.

    Seriously could someone please remove this quest. I managed to light the ovens (by dying like a 100 times) but the door still won't open. Happy with the game so far, but this is just beyond believable.

    this is not right. You have to do a certain key strokes in a perfect manner with a time constraint. This is fps trick stuff it does not have a place in a mmorpg. What is wrong is there is no gm to clear the bug for you or any attempt by zeni to correct the bug. Its not the same as a bug with some farmer in the wilds but a main quest bug. Great game but this mis-attention to detail is un-excusable. From my perspective is the they gave the length of the shot shorter then what was required for the left hand one. All the others work but this one because it is the longest shot. The long term effects are that NA Ebonheart wil be short of vets in the PVP, so one alliance is going to become ineffective. End of game.

    4/21/2014 10:00 PM Central time, still bugged.......how much time do you need Zeni to make your game actually work? Weeks past launch and we are still dealing with progress block quest bugs and haven't even started the discussion of things like balance.....Get your #2 together!!!

    Thanks a lot Deal, derp I missed the fourth one...
    Still, Zenimax, the quest is neither working as intended I guess (with having to jump to your death) nor is it fun... please change it for the love of god!

    90 min of jumping to my death. Nonsense. Jump on to the lower pillar, made it easier.

    ^I too am curious as to why whoever the person in charge of the functioning of quests has not been immediately fired/replaced yet. Many quests since early access have been impossible or had very weird functioning bugs

    Is there any news on this?

    I know its a known bug but its now been a week and there doesn't appear to be any movement on it getting fixed and no reliable work around. Throwing myself off the side and hoping to click on the right point is not a work around its a way to trivialise the death mechanic.

    I sent in a ticket about this but have yet to get a reply. Have the CS all walked out and given its a range thing couldn't the range you could throw the orbs simply be increased so you can make the shot.

    As people are able to make the shot it seems that both parts are working it is simply the range that is not.

    This is the only way atm.
    Ofc you can wait to be fixed or waste 30 min jumping naked

    Just want to say that is bug still exist....
