Make Antiquities tradeable

The only thing I fear that if they let us trade/sale leads or items is that there would be a bit more competition for the items in some zones leading to frustrated players. Like the Rune-Carved Mammoth Skull, can you imagine in each zone dozens of players killing Mammoths so fast that before you can get a LA off its dead and the next one that pops is dead before it appears on your screen? Lol.

Or the leads that only drop in treasure chests or coffer chests? I used to see a lot of folks just standing where chest pop in some zones waiting for it to respawn so they can get it.

Then again, it could lead to more folks doing them (for gold) and then that would help with the bigger bosses like dragons etc. Plus, I wouldn't mind getting the leads that are locked behind the PVP areas that I rarely go into.

So, I can see this as a hit or miss.

I think that would make it even more impossible for people to farm these for themselves. It was bad enough for a while trying to find safeboxes when things had just released and everyone and their cousin was looking for leads. Imagine if that demand kept up and became even worse with people building lead farmers and taking *all* sources of leads from people who just want to furnish themselves. It would be worse than it is trying to farm furnishing mats for yourself now. Would be very difficult to get hits on on world bosses you need, would be impossible to find chests, safeboxes, thieves' troves. Please no. I already deal with that on a lesser level with trying to get furnishing mats since they are too expensive to buy now.

But then you could buy the items instead of having to farm them. Would that not make it easier?

I think you came up with the very reason Zos did not make them tradable. They want players to do this for themselves just as they want players to run dungeons to get the gear that drops in them.

Indeed. And that goes hand in hand with ensuring that people are paying a premium for access to that content. If antiquities were tradable, fewer people would have bought Greymoor in favor of paying for the antiquities with gold. Even when Greymoor becomes available for crowns and included in ESO+, that’s real money in ZOS’ pocket one way or another for every person who wants access to antiquities, not to mention more time spent on that content specifically as opposed to more generic or incidental ways of acquiring gold.

While I am sure some players might have purchased Greymoor solely because of the antiquities it is pure speculation that this had a significant impact on sales, hence a real impact on Zos' decision making just as it is speculation as to what will happen to the antiquities line next year.

I was thinking primarily of the furniture antiquities. The motifs are tradeable already and I do think that the mount and the special gear items should remain personal items only.

that mount... after soloing everything else i need only darkshade 2 lead and i'm at the point: no matter if i get it next 2 - 3 times or drop it i'm not setting foot in group dungeon even to soloing it for achievement.
for me is either leads need better drop rate or to be tradable. as for furniture if i can sell it atleast to eso merchant it still will be better...

You don't have to make them tradable, but at least make it so you can sell them for a decent profit at an in-game vendor. I mean how many of the same things do you need? Eventually the current system de-incentivizes you from doing it. Allowing players to make a profit off the activity would give at least give you a reason to dig up your 20th Void-Crystal Anomaly.

Buying things you can get yourself is failure. I begrudgingly buy some of the motifs furnishings because they are hard to come by.

Leads for furnishings are pretty easy to get and what you happen if they were tradeable would be that everyone would sell all the Tall Papa's Lamps and Void Crystal Anomalies, and you'd rarely find any of the other items.

Also, how would you handle items that are in content that the buyer doesn't own? Should you not be able to buy them? How will the game limit that?

IF they were going to allow this, it would not be until Greymoor is replaced by a new chapter, therefore making it available with ESO+. ZoS is not going to allow something stuck behind a paywall to be given to people that didn't pay for it.

Did they change everything to non-trading?

I don't believe furnishings have ever been tradable.
Furnishings have been tradable in the first PTS week. Then ZOS "fixed" that.
As for nothing to do? Well, this is why I don't go crazy farming leads in an effort to get it there and then. They do drop naturally. You will get them.
They don't drop naturally. You have to farm them. There are almost no gryphons in Greymoor zones, for example, the only place to get something naturally without farming already done content.

Most leads are in the old content, and old content is content that is already completed. Since it is already completed, it is impossible to get something from it naturally, only from farming specific leads.
There are people in my (housing) guild that have over 20 of the Void-Crystal Anomalies, but not a single Stained Glass window, or Sunbird feather. By now, they've given up.
Yes, I agree. Getting the first feather was painful. Getting the second was even more time consuming and a complete waste. So I modified my housing plan to use only one and returned to the behaviour of not killing gryphons (because why should I? they are welkynar mounts).

Destroying unneeded furnishings is not fun too (like 6-house table, for example, as I don't need even one).

I have the stained glass window but it's so huge it doesn't fit anywhere in any of my houses without dominating the entire area. And it's way too colorful for my taste.

I have a couple of the Sixth House tables. They are too big to use as a table, but make a nice carpet.

I've been pretty disappointed in a lot of the furnishings I've gotten lately. They all seem to be too big, too colorful or both. They need to learn that less can be more.

Oh I suspect there are going to be leads dropping from the Stonethorn dungeons... Once they have a zone to then dig them up in. I suspect that zone will be the Q4 zone.

How about leads from Harrowstorm dlc ? :)

As for thread: ZOS should rebalance current system first. I got 6 Morwha’s Blessing already BUT I do heists every day on a 2 characters. It's just example. If I have to farm Depths of Malatar for another Meridian Sconce SO MUCH then a I prefer to forgot it completely.
May be possible solution is a new antiquiter's currency that allow you to buy desirable leads that you already did and sell undesirable

This is only true if you play only one character through the story and are caught up to the DLC.

I tend to get side-tracked a lot, so my main is only up to Clockwork City right now, though I did finish the main quest in Summerset, I didn't finish all the quest hubs. Not to mention there's a gryphon world boss, if you are also farming Culanda Lacquer.

Yes, make them sellable. So many of them are like furniture, which i dont't care for. They take my inventory space, so i just go to my event reward grand psisic villa and place stuff on the entrance terrance to get rid if it. Someone might want some of the stuff, i'd sell gladly. And make the siege account bound, not chararter alliance bound pls. Pretty pls. With sugar on top.
