Onesided Patchnotes: A message to the devs - Here is my evergrowing list of bugs

ESO is a great game, seriously.
But there is currently one very big problem.
Your onesided patch policy.

Dont get me wrong, its great that you fix the quests...but thats also the problem.
You are way too focused at them. There is rarely something else in the patchnotes, always just "we fixed some quests".

I said it many times now in different topics...there is no use for working quests if the classes, abilitys, passives, items or mechanics are broken.
We dont play just for the quests. We play to have fun.

Currently...i had to quit. Seriously, i dont want to, but i have to...because i simply cant play!
Why? Yeah...thats a long story.

I reached v9 now, finished all the zones, finished nearly all the quest, and i still have one level left. Not a big deal, really. But during this time i had to fight...not against my enemies...against bugs.
What bugs for example?
Stay a while and listen...

Vampire is bugged completely, you should know that allready.
Cost reduction for the Ultimate resets,
Poisonmist has the wrong amount of hits,
Essence Drain does not work against stun-immune or allready stunned targets,
Dark Stalker disables after death,
Undeath wont activate (or it has no visible effect),
Unnatural Resistance has no numbers, so no clue if it works or not,
Supernatural Recovery - broken based on this topic

Werewolf is broken too...i dont know about all the bugs, but it is just horrible, that you need to sacrifice your ultimate-slot just to enable the passive abilities. And the Ultimate is not even worth it. 1000 points to be in the form for a few seconds, sacrifice your enchantments...and Devour is not even working, because the animation is too long.
There were a few good suggestions somewhere else in the forum...reduced ulti cost and passives working without having the transform equipped. these two ideas would push the Werewolf to a whole new level of possibilities.
This topic lists some bugs and suggestions

And these two are just "Additional Trees".

here is what i have found for the Nightblade
Assassination: Killer Blade - Health restoring effect gets removed after death,
Assassination: Incapacitating Strikes - Knockdown does not work sometimes (target had more hp than me), maybe also bugged after death, or could it possibly be based on percentual health left?
Assassination: Pressure Points - seems to be not working,
Assassination: Mark Targets - Does nothing, no 75% Ignore. Morphs are also not working.
Shadow: Shadowcloak - Gets interrupted by friendly field effects or DoT,
Shadow: Veiled Strike - Stun does not work in PVP, not at all,
Shadow: Conceiled Strike - Same problem as Dark Stalker, effect ends after death
Siphoning: Siphoning Strikes - Does not work with multihit attacks like Flurry
Siphoning: Leeching Strikes - I think it does not heal the correct amount of health.
a few more can be found here

It does not end here...

Medium Armor:
Dexterity - Does not work in PVP
Athletics - Disabled after death

Dual Wield:
Twin Blade and Blunt - Does not work with Daggers, they wont increase the critchance at all

Soul Magic:
Soul Shatter - wont trigger
Soul Summons - just a minor translation bug - in german it says that you can revive other players with it, but i have seen many german players wondering about it.

Zones:
The v10 zone for EP (Reapers March) is bugged...how?
Lets start with bosses. Whats wrong here? mhh...yeah...i dont know if you can call it a boss, when they have just 6k HP. Also they will drop lv50 items.

Crafting:
Thats also somehow a zone-related problem.
Leather droptable is highly broken, but why? its simple.
After the first zone you will mostly find two kinds of leather per zone.
For example the Gold-Veteran content. I think after entering it i could find Iron Hide and Superb Hide...from the same enemies. Sometimes i could even find Shadowhide i think.
In the last zone, where you will only find v10 enemies...you will still get Superb Hide.
Superb Hide is for v7 - v8. Sadly, there are not enough animals to get enough Shadowhide. All other Materials, like Voidstone or Nightwood will scale with the zone.
You wont find any Quicksilver-Nodes in a v10 zone.
Another problem are the items. even v10 leather items will somehow dismantle into Superb Hide
After finishing all the zones i had 150 Shadowhide and 350 of each of the other materials...

Mechanics:
Blocking - Actually i liked the Skyrim Mechanic more.
Light Attack < Blocking < Heavy Attack < Dodge/Interrupt.
Here it is the other way around, Blocking counters Heavy Attacks (makes no sense at all...i mean...i can counter a heavy two handed axe strike with two crossed daggers...shouldnt that break my arms or something? xD)
A System like Skyrim would give us a way better tactical combat.
Blocking Light Attacks and interrupting a Heavy Attack with pushing him off-balance (like we currently do against Charged-Magic) OR dodging them would make more sense, and would feel better in combat, AND would give dodge a real use.
Further down in the Dungeon-Section i will explain a problem with the current blocking system.

Dodging - You simply cant dodge projectiles. As soon as they are traveling...they turn into Sidewinders. Would it be that hard to give a dodging player the same dodge-buff that Medium Armor: Evasion gives?
Shield Bash - Do you really want to see all heavy-armor players running around with shield-bash, because it deals more damage than most skills or attacks?

Mundus Stones:
Most of them wont work. But you allready confirmed that you know about it, and that you will fix it someday in the future...

Groups:
A large group will cause lags, freezes and even disconnects.
I have seen this effect with 9 players in a group, while farming vamps we had a group with i think 6x4 players...no one could play, as soon as you logged back in...you got a freeze and most of the times a crash again.

PVP:
As mentioned above, NB Veiled Strike does not Stun in here, even if the target is shown with the effect. Its fun to try it against a shield-basher. As soon as he is in range, he can permanently interrupt you...no chance to avoid that.
Walls:
You cant hit targets standing on a wall when you are standing on the ground below. If you try to target them, it counts as a barrier between you and him. Even with a clear line of sight. For example:
NB Teleport Strike cant target, Bows Snipe cant target...but everyone who is standing on the wall has no problems.
Not to mention the current delay, but thats just because the EU server is currently in US...hopefully...

PVP Sneaking: There is one major problem. I know that we cloakers are anoying, but there is one broken thing with the visibility. My group attacked a Keep, i was sneaking around...or i tried to. No one had a line of sight to me, i was inside a small building, no one nearby...but i could not sneak. the Eye was always fully opened.
Seems like the Sneak-System is not based on a line of sight system...sadly
Mobius0 wrote: »
8)This is not exactly NB specific, but - Dead players are considered to still be in combat with you, until they respawn, or until the combat timer wears off. This makes it so you can't stealth, mount, etc., until you are "out of combat" with them.
from here.
This could explain it.

(Veteran) Dungeons:
The Boss design is simply horrible (not for all of them, just some).
For example: we tried V-Spindleclutch.
Last boss, Vorenor Winterbourne.
In theory...he is simple. He either drains blood from a player, creates blood-puddles, or uses a teleport-strike.
Why is it a bad boss design? its not about skill. The whole boss is all about Overkill Damage and Massive Healthpools.
Vorenors Blood-Puddle for examply hits my v9 NB with over 1.7k damage. Too bad that im dead after one hit.
His Teleport Strike cant be blocked (thats the part i mentioned above). He will instantly kill all light-armor players.
I got hit for 50% damage WHILE BLOCKING it.
Thats simply not a good boss design.
The idea with his "snacks" that heal him if you wont kill them is good...but the rest of the boss is bad.
There is a huge firepit in the middle of the room, so we thought about pulling him through it during his Teleport-Phase (vamps dont like fire) - sadly...the fire is just decoration.
They should not be based on OP-Damage and OP-Health...thats not fun, thats boring.
It took us around 4 hours to reach him...just to see that our Healer and Sorcerer cant withstand a single hit from him...a hit that cant get avoided.
BUT There are also very interesting Bossfights. The second guy in Fungal Grotto for example is a good example for a very good designed boss. All of his abilitys need teamwork and situational awareness.

As you can see...i simply could not play anymore. My whole NB Vampire is broken in PVP, i cant Craft, i cant Grind Bosses, i cant finish the Dungeons...

@ZOS_KaiSchober‌, @ZOS_GinaBruno‌
you are the most active Devs in the forum...i dont know if you are actually devs or just work for the Support, but you are listed in the Dev-Tracker most of the times.
I would be very glad to finally see a response from one of you, now that you know why i cant play anymore
Also i will push this topic on a daily basis, until i see a green-response.

Since I mentioned this a bit ago...

Harvester fights in solo instances are unnecessarily brutal.

They have an unavoidable, non-line of sight attack, where they teleport strike up to you, hold you, and then spawn four or five feast orbs. If any of these connect with the boss they give her a full heal.

Here's the problem, there is no way to avoid the strike. If you don't have an AOE attack, like, for example, because you're a nightblade, you might not have any way to deal with these orbs short of running up and slashing them.

By the time you've finished, the boss'll be ready for another sphere summon.

The Halls of Torment sends you in with an AI companion, but they'll just stand there and watch you die. This is a boss with a pretty clear group focused mechanic, and you're expected to fight them alone. Possibly without ranged options.

Ignoring the Deckard Cain quote and the random ire it raises...

There isn't a way to say this that won't come across as dismissive, but I'll try. You've kicked my ass on progression. I've been pinned to this chair for five days, recovering from having an infected hangnail removed, I can kinda hobble to bed, and you've blown away my progress on the game. Could just be you have more time to kill than I do... actually, it's probably that...

Here's the thing, no MMO is feature complete at launch. At least no MMO I've ever seen.

When you're fixing launch issues, you start with the stuff that is most visible, and impedes progress for low level players. This is why stuff like Castle of the Worm got fixed before Three Crowns did.

Because crafting is such a major element, I have some faith that the Leather drops will get fixed. And, actually some faith that the dev team will look at leather availability down the line.

I don't know about the overkill issues, or the boss balancing because I still haven't done the leveling dungeons. I got really f---ing burned out on dungeons during my time with The Secret World, and I'm in no rush to climb back into one right now.

With the amount of attention vampires and werewolves are getting on the boards, I suspect those will be dealt with, as their populations rise.

You're on VR9 content, the game is less than a month old, and, I'm sorry, but the content you're doing, and the passives are probably not going to be a priority for another month or two.

Boss design is wonky. I can't even think about doing veteran content because I can't get past a harvester fight in the main quest. Seriously, let's take a boss built around group mechanics and force you to fight them solo.

It's not that you don't have legitimate grievances, it's that expecting the dev team to drop everything and cater to the issues you, specifically, have found, is.

So, /bug it, move on. Spend some time outside, read a book, write a book, whatever. Come back in a week, see what's been fixed. If you don't want to keep paying until they fix things, that's your call. If you do, on the idea that your money will help get those fixes in eventually, then go ahead. But, yeah. All we can do is say, "hey, I found a problem," and hope that someone notices. If they don't, that's when we decide if we want to stick around. That said, they're putting priority on fixing the problems that affect the most players. That's just common sense. If more players are pissed off than not, the game will die. I hope we see fixes for this stuff, I really do. So... "we'll see."

    Anyway, my toe hurts.
i simply love that Deckard Cain quote, and i use it whenever i make such a long post

as i said, i can completely understand the whole fixing-process.
its just logical that they need to fix the main-quests first...i mean...we need it to get to the veteran content and even further.
i know that i played a lot and that not everyone can be that fast. and thats fine, i dont want to complain about players being slower than me. its the same in any other MMO, im not one of the first, but im also not one of the last players who reach max level and end-content.

But see it this way. the faster I or others like me reach endcontent, the faster the devs will get a response about what is wrong and needs to be adressed.
Because of that the "normal" players will have a smooth and fun end-content.
as mentioned above the bossfight against Vorenor Winterbourne - he is not fun. But other bosses are.
Harvesters are pain in the *** bosses...i just hate them. IF the dodge mechanic would work, it would be completely different.

The problem with Vamps is...as far as i know, most bugs were allready reported back in beta...and until now i have never seen a response. Neither to these specific ability bugs, nor to all the others. and thats what i think is kinda sad.
quest fixes here, quest fixes there - fine...but please...dont ignore the rest of the bugs. a simple "working on it" or "noticed" would be enough.

Im not crying about end-content, that i have nothing more to do.
No. We will get more content soon, and the plan of releasing more and more of it is great. Hope they can keep it up.
My main problem is, that the existing content is bugged for me.
Its not that there is "nothing" to do at the end.
Compared to other MMOs there is a lot. The veterancy dungeons are very hard, PVP is very interesting...i would do that...but i simply cant...
simply because 90% of my NB is not working, my whole skillbar is filled with bugged skills (in pvp or groups), my main-passives are disabled...i cant prove myself in pvp, if i cant play "my class".
And its not that these are end-content abilitys like meteor or batswarm or something else like that...no...my first 3 abilitys are within the first two tiers of NB skills.
Killer Blade (T1), Veiled Strike (T2) and Shadowcloak (T1).
there are only 2 higher-tier abilitys in my skillbar, Drain Essence (Vamp) and Siphoning Strikes (T4)...and only Siphoning Strikes is working as intended...
so these are problems who affect NB players even from the beginning.

So i simply cant "Move on" even if i would try to "ignore" the problems.
Fixing quests is great...but it has no use if you cant play them because of class specific bugs...thats why i said they should not just focus on quest-bugs.
Sooner or later this could backfire. The same would happen the other way around. perfect classes but broken quests. Onesided fixing is never a good solution.
As i said, priority is the main quest...but the other quests and ability bugs should be treated equally.
as you said, The Secret World that was a game where we had working classes but broken quests. You could jump from dungeon to dungeon and completely ignore all the quests. It was the exact opposite of what ESO is doing.

    also: get well soon ;)

Thanks for taking the time to write out your feedback and what you'd like to see improved, @LazerusKI‌. While it's true that many of our patches have been focusing on content fixes, our other teams have been working hard on fixes that you'll see soon. Regardless, we'll pass your thread along to the team so they can read through.

As mentioned above: A response like that is all what i wanted.
The knowledge that there is someone working on fixes other than quests, that someone has seen the problems.
Thanks @ZOS_GinaBruno, i hope you have not seen this topic as "raging", that was not my intention.

Yeah, I had that happen from a boss in Shadowfen. At least there, I could go, "oh, he's a crap tier boss so... wait, what?" Funny thing was, I didn't have agro, I was in dialog, in disguise, standing next to him. He agroed on another player and splattered me.

I'm assuming that you're using a bow as a nightblade. Acid spray easily kills the harvester orbs as well as doing damage on the harvester.

Oooohhhh..... No. I've been using a bow as my alternate weapon. I've been dual wielding as my primary. I ran a bow nightblade up to 15 in beta, and really started to suffer near the end there, so I started out dual on my main during early access...

People expecting to blast through a new games content in a few weeks then complain the content is lacking, broken, incomplete etc need to relax.. /bug works, too bad most of the "beta" players were just interested in playing for free and not helping to create a more bug free game. Really tired of all the complainers... We have all had our run ins with bugs and problems but the game is brand new, /bug works. There has NEVER been a game that was bug free and perfect at launch, nor is there even one that is 10 years or older and bug free or perfect.. This one is actually running pretty well compared to some past games after the same time frame. /feedback and /bug are still in the game for a reason, send constructive suggestions and point out bugs without freaking out, they will be addressed, I have been quite impressed with the speed at which CSR's get involved with each issue and help to resolve things. Dev's are working on patches and things are being fixed rapidly, every week we have multiple patches and fixes. Relax, its an imperfect world, instead of whining on a forum and cancelling accounts, try doing /bug reports and /feedback and help to make the game better.. YIKES.

Finally a response to issues a majority of players are voicing on these forums. The OP did a nice job at summarizing them all in a single thread.

For me I agree with the OP I was not happy with the lack of patch focus and also pure lack of any kind of response to all these threads on these issues from the team.

He finally got one to respond and at least confirm this and willing to send up to team.. That is all we want as a community on these boards some discussion from the team about these problems and that they have people working on them.

Although I would like to hear from the team more than we got people on it, because most of these issues were reported 5 months ago so I still am concerned about the validity of the statement. I still feel we are on a back burner till they get console version out.

Can the team confirm or deny this? That the majority and priority of this team is console release right now? For it seems to me by the sheer lack of focus on patches and very evident lack of communication on forums over these issues it sure feels this way.

@starkerealm - My main is a resto/dw nightblade. What I found works well for harvesters is the shadow ultimate morphed for the crazy-fast DoT effect. As soon as she gets me in the stun grip, I break out and slap that ultimate key. The orbs I can't get to directly die before they get to her, and she takes massive amounts of damage making my job much easier.

Yeah it's two skill points tied up, but that ultimate has made my life far easier against everything that wants to either 2-shot me or keeps healing itself. Except zombies. Seriously *** zombies.

Yeah, I haven't picked up the Shadow Ultimate since beta... so I'd completely forgotten that it morphed into an aoe. I'd been trying to get the siphon ultimate to IV, so I could morph it... but that does sound like a better option.
