Hope 2021 theme and chapter will be PVP focused

I can't see them doing a PvP DLC. Splitting the PvP population even further, and then gating some stuff behind a DLC, when a lot of PvPers are already talking about not buying the latest chapter or quitting? Doesn't sound like it'll work all that well.

Besides, the low PvP pop is not just because of performance. It's also got a lot to do with the fact that there are loads of casual Elder Scrolls fans who are here for the PvE. After all, look how many complaint threads we get whenever MYM rolls around or when they put leads in Cyrodiil. The major base is PvE, they buy the content right away, so they will be focused.

I wouldn't be opposed to them dropping the Q3 dungons DLC or something to do something PvP related, but that'd probably have to come as a basegame update (and imagine the complaint threads there!). But for a whole chapter? I doubt it.

However, I don't want this to end up giving us PvE Cyrodiil. I do only go into Cyro during MYM, but I don't agree that there should be a separate PVE instance. It'd be nice if people from other alliances would live and let live when they see me doing obvious PvE things like delves or story in IC, but c'est la vie.

Come to think of it: Why are the MYM tickets earned for doing PvE activities? I'd put them earnable only through stuff you have to do actual PvP for like Battlegrounds or capture quests, not scouting or IC dailies.

They still have the area north of Varen's wall in the Gold Coast (and there's a mysterious gate to nowhere there) and Colovia grounded by Skingrad, and that also includes Miscarcand for a great public/group dungeon. I could see that being relatively empty, or some legion group in Skingrad is trying to take over and reestablish the empire or something.

PvE quests in Cyrodiil aren't interesting enough to warrant a PvE zone version. IC actually has an interesting story, so I could see a PvE version of IC.

no more pvp please and thank you.
the taint of pvp severely affects pve.
pvp shouldnt even be in this game at all.
pvp in this game would be ok if only letting it be a tacked-on afterthought and NEVER the reason for any balancing and nerfs.
elder scrolls is supposed to be a pve paradise!!!
pvp is why we pve cant have nice things.

Uhh no, that's just straight up false. PvE was originally added as an afterthought if anything, and PvP changes rarely actually have a real impact on PvE since the skills/sets used in PvE are different.

PvE was added as an afterthought? You think ZOS considered a PvP-only game with this IP? If someone suggested that, I'm sure they were quickly fired.

It is not true that PvP changes rarely actually have a real impact on PvE.

Did it ever cross a PvE enjoying players mind, that maybe you don't PvP because:

    1. there is no content
    2. a steep learning curve with no proper tutorial
    3. they allow 810+ cp to twink characters in pre-50 cyrodiil, so your first experience is going vs someone who's twinked?
    4. You make very little PvE progress and can't get most of the stuff that gives you access to fun from IN PvE, in cyrodiil/IC? (I guarantee if you went out and saw capturing a scroll = 5 exp potions, 1 box with chance for monster set, something else I GUARANTEE you would enjoy PvP more or at least be willing to stick around..)

All of these issues should be looked at before you just say no I want only PvE and no to PvP content.
    Interesting.

In GW1 and WoW I did quite a bit of PvP while in ESO I never do it. Why?

    a. Three factions. In battlegrounds 3 teams instead of 2 is a totally different mechanic, it's far more a chaotic "free for all" 3D shooter like thing than a tactical or strategic thing. You're always outnumbered 2:1 and because of that you will definitely die a lot all the time. Which I find a lot less interesting/enjoyable than tactical CTF play in WOW (where you could be flag defender, midfield fighter or flag catcher) or random last man standing 4 vs 4 arenas in GW1 for example:
    szQZ5Dy.jpg

    b. "Search for a battle" versus "Jump right into the action". I was utterly confused when I first entered Cyrodiil. I expected to be thrown into the fray but it was empty. When I finally found a fight it was over in a few minutes. I found it very time consuming and not very rewarding.
And well .. from what I read about the lag I don't feel very tempted to give it a few more tries.

    c. PvEvP. I have never been a fan of mixed gameplay. Never enjoyed WoW PvP servers either. In EVE there was always a small chance of being attacked by PvP players but if you stayed alert you could (almost) always get away, which is totally different than IC where you can be in a boss fight and be ganked to death before you realize what's happening.
So IC is not my idea of "fun", doing PvE stuff and being instakilled by lurking PvP players.

    Anyway my $0.02

theres not enough pvp players to justify alienating pve players to make a whole dlc (or a year-long adventure) that is all silly pvp nonsense. for every one true pvp’er theres a thousand pve’ers.
making said chapter will force the majority of players to quit eso or not play for that year.
that is bad for business since a full year of pvp will guarantee less dlc purchases, less active subs, less crown purchases, etc.
the game cant financially survive an entire year with too low of revenue.
even a child of 5 years understands that bethesda would shut down the servers.
and even when they pvp year is over, the players who have left would have by then found somewhere else to go and they wont be back.

    so basically its like this:
eso pvp does not deserve any attention. it should always be a tacked-on afterthought.
if you want to play a game with pvp that is actually supported by the devs, then you can play call of duty and fortnite.

the elder scrolls is a pve paradise and should always be that way.
    period.

While Cyrodiil was intended to be the endgame zone at launch, its been 6 years. Many things have shifted away from the original intentions or iterations (light armor magDK for one)

If PVP was the most popular, the majority of the population would BE THERE. The community as a whole made its preference known and the devs responded accordingly. The lions share of resources and time have gone to PVE.

Has PVP been neglected? Absolutely. Will ranting at PVE players do anything for you? No, save it for the people running the game.

I personally don't need a pvp chapter. But additionally things in cyro would be great.
Upgradeable keeps/guards,so 3 ppl can't nightcap a whole map + scrolls. Limit it to max 3/4 keeps per alliance.
Npcs u can send out to attack keeps (they don't have to be ultra strong, it's more for additional tactical gameplay) maybe limit it to 3 charges per day.
Aditional poi to get resources for those things mentioned before.
    So much potential wasted...

New battlegrounds, arenas for duells/2v2 matches
Things other mmos introduce as updates.

Sure, since IC was such a hit. I fear it would just be another thing people are unsatisfied with.

I would welcome it. It would be nice to save the money in 2021. Seems like it would be a really bad move for business.

Seems like it needs to be done correctly then.

PVE players are getting an entire game via ES6 eventually, why people keep trying to roadblock PVP in ESO is beyond me.

Complete selfishness reinforced by the devs dropping only PVE content.
Rollin' round Tamriel on that skooma wasted like a failed Grand Theft Auto mission.
