Stuck at the "Requesting character load" screen

Nothing works, and when i see other threads like that, all of them are cut off and opinting to threads that says "you get error code blabla".
Well, i dont get any error codes, im just stuck at the character loading screen indefinitely. With all 3 characters.

Edit: OK, was working for a while, but since i get ingame unknown errors time to time im again stuck at the character loading screen same as earlier.

Not using a single addon. Not living in college, not using firewall´s that block anything. Worked earlier, suddenly stopped working, whats the logic in that.?
Triend all the magicak trick suggested, not working, tried even scarificing my cat to internet gods, not effect. To me this looks a lot like gameprovider problem, not player.

same problem. Support just tells it is because of server capacity and advised to "wait a few minutes". X( of course does not help.
But not sure that the problem is in internet provider, i heard many who plays TESO with same ISP as i have. The most interesting thing that some people usually manage to come only with new characters that have not yet to stuck on loading screen, and if the character at least once stuck he is unplayable.

Bratoknsk, same thing for me. I made new character, was able to log in and play a while, then the game crashed, like it usually does, than again stuck in the loading character screen. What the hell is this problem, obviously not ISP...

I decided to take matters on my own hands, crawled under my massive table, disconnected my router and then tried logging in, tadaa, it works. Was able to log in perfectly.
SO solution for me seems to be so far "have you tried turning it off and on again?"

I dont even get the login screen, I click login it looks like its about to login then closes. I can still see it running in the task manager and have to stop it. Support tells me to try again in 10 min. thats some good troubleshooting.

To me that problem sounds like a graphicsdriver problem. Sometimes the newest drivers arent best ones, but id suggest you update to the newest and see if something happens.

OK, i tried to zone, got this time "Unknown error" message and game craches. Tried to log into character... its stuck in that forever loading loop.
Just for testing i crawled under my table, reseted router AGAIN and this time i was able to log into character. Tried zoning, game crashed with unknon error, character STUCK again.
If i really need o reset my router EVERYTIME i want to play, not gonna happen. Canceled my subscriptionplan and not gonna extend for a broken game unless something changes.

any one here on a campus wireless connection and i have many issues, if the game hangs on the requesting bit for more then 20s i restart and this cound take 3-5 attempts to get in.

Not any campus, but yes i have wireless connection. For me reseting the router works until next "unknown error" disconnection, then i have to reset it again.

has anyone found a solution /has bethsada addressed it? i have written and gotten the same response as many of you saying the servers are busy or full and to wait a few minutes. but i have waited hours , i have created new characters disabled firewalls reset router tried other connections, lowed my graphics to minimal (or abysmal) setting. and nothing seems to be working. this is a finisher for me, if i had not just paid 80 bucks plus the days it took to load (also on the servers end) i would not be as upset. but i am out of ideas. and i am wondering why this is still an issue, isn't this what beta testing is for. roughest launch i have ever seen since galaxies.

Here is a fix for all of you having Issues getting stuck in loading screens. It has worked for every person in my guild 375+ that was having these same issues.

Allowed eso through windows firewall worked once, restarting modem worked once, setting graphics to minimum worked once in fact everything has worked once but alas not twice on the bright side its no longer an unknown error now just an error with wait a few mins and try again, which does not work.

after about an hour of diking about with firewalls, routers, VPNs and other settings, including creating new characters, and making them do the tutorials, nothing seems to get past the 'requesting character load...'

I've accepted *defeat* and now going to go and do something a bit more interesting.

*I blame whatever the maintenance was on the servers has caused this.

Same happened for me, nothing fixed it, eventually all tricks ended with same Requesting character load. It simply isnt problem we can fix. Any other online game doesnt get this error and this error doesnt always come in this game, but it did often enough, that i also admitted defeat, uninstalled the game and decided, maybe ill try this again after 3-6 months...
