I have seen some of the best performance in Cyro during this event in months or years. 3-bars/pop-capped 20v20s without 3-second skill delays. Two weeks ago that many people turned into slideshow ESO

I'm sure it's been worse at other times due to high population, but I haven't seen smooth largescale fights in a long, long time

This might sound stupid but put everything on ULTRA settings, Yes you'd think, the higher the settings the more likely you will get load screens but I decided to up mine from Medium, just to have a nosey around Auridon before my queue popped and I didn't turn them back, I can port to keeps with ease, I can res at keeps/camps when I die in around 10 seconds

I will get the odd longer screen but not as much as I did on medium settings

It has been mixed... It has been terrible with delays, desyncs, simply not firing. Tonight my character was actually unable to do anything. I couldn't use skills, roll dodge, swap bars. It just jittered whenever I pressed something.

Then I have had 50 v 50 fights where it has been flawless. 🤷

Overall I have had improved performance in Cyro than before the event.. but still occasionally get some terrible bugs that stop skills from firing & that sort of thing.

TBH the load screens seem about the same as before though... really annoying are those 1 second load screen that stop your mount in it's tracks & you have t release the forward button & press it again to start moving. Pretty frustrating when you are in a hurry !@#!

It's been better than it was last Midyear Mayhem, at least for me. Yes, I've had lag, but no crashing like I did last time around.
*Edit* Oh, and my load screens have been pretty short. Last time the load screens were a lot longer.

I get a lot of desync myself. Ill be fine in pvp and then all the sudden i get hit like 10 times in 3 seconds by one person and in this process ( of the game catching up) it will be all jerky.

I've had the same experiences. But those 50v50 fights where everything runs smoothly reminds me of what ESO PvP could have been, and sadly we'll possibly not see it again after the event is over

I stopped going to Cyro because of the performance. Guess I should take this opportunity to bomb some groups while it's not too laggy

You played on the new campaigns? Cause they have maybe not even half the Population when they are locked then greyhost.

Mostly its only one big group. And then Performance is kinda fine

Ball groups. This is the reason why performance sometimes is so bad, this particular play style causes most of the issues we currently have. Without ball groups maybe it isn't awesome but at least it's okish.
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

Honestly would be up to make bets on what dumb thing the load screens are caused by. We have seen some silly bugs and "fixes" over the years.

    like:
-the weapons under your feet being fixed by using the "hide polymorph helm" option
-being popped out of infinite loadscreen by que pop/ready check/share quest
-Overload self snare that gets cured by heavy attacking thin air, hitting nothing.

The playstyle isnt the issue.... people can play how they want. The issue is that zos enables them and they benefit from doing so. What is worse is zos keeps releasing statement after statement about reducing the skill gap. Yes the gap between endgame player vs the new player will be shortened, but the major thing to be concerned about is that inevitably the mid tier player will start to feel hopeless solo.......this leads to the mid tier players deciding to group up instead of solo. Then another patch happens again reducing the skillgap.....once again the engame players are fine, the new players are still ***, but the "new" mid tier players again get forced out of solo gameplay and must start grouping.

This trend has happened and will keep happening endlessly with the mindset that zos has. Hard to agree that to have a fun game everyone must be completely equivalent and skill has zero impact on who wins. If every player is equivalent 1=1 that means combat is purely decided on what team has more numbers....so what is the point in fighting then?
The answer is to combat/limit how much more and more players can do.This is why originally dots and over time effects didnt stack(also caused drastically less strain on server)

The Major/Minor system helps with this...imagine if players could stack any number of XX% sources. Issues are now that zos is adding so many "unique" sources that break these rules.

Make larger groups get exponentially less ap from all sources. (incentivizes and rewards solo/small groups)

Make heals and effects only hit group members(limits strength of 24+ man groups)

Block forward camps within keep range and make each resource have a rez every 15 mins if within the keep/resource tick range. Then give bonus ap for taking /defending resources when there are X amount of seige on both sides. (this prevents the fight from solely being focused on one sole point during keep takes, instead of 30v30 in one doorway it might be 20v20 with 5v5 and 5v5 at resources.)
Id keep listing off changes to make, but it is 3:30 in the morning and 90% of people wont even read this far anyways.

I didn't visit Cyrodiil during this event, and don't plan to. But in IC, this time event has the worst performance for me :/ And new very annoying error...
When I try to use ladder to any districs from sewers, sometimes screen fades out to black and fades in again with weird message "Jump failed. You are already queued for this campaign." And it repeats few times in a row, preventing me from going into upper city. Eventually error goes away (after 3 - 4 tries), but it's really strange :/ I was in IC many times during previous events, when there were much more people, and I've never had such error.

First time in IC this event -> have thought the ladder thing was a feature :s . Are you telling me it's not supposed to work that way?! What about not being able to go back down through trap door after going up ladder to wrong district by mistake (sometimes)? Is that bug too? Have spent hours trying to come up with some rules for when ladders and trap doors will be passible and when not and got nothing so far (and feeling like idiot).

@MincVinyl I never claimed ballgroups shouldn't play like they do, I'm just saying that their play style is the main cause of lag - except of spaghetti code of the game and probably low capacity servers of course.
