They really need to consider upping the rewards for BGs while Cyrodiil is 100% unplayable. I wouldn't set foot in there if I could raise my PvP rank and unlock the black dye any other way. But I'll be out there lagged out the [censored] with the rest of you.

Pvp is dying and has no player and they do this lol. Nah not wasting my time last year was horrendous and could barely get tickets and my work was randomly undone making me miss tickets.

This "event" is a non-event since I can’t earn tickets. Only winning move is not to play lol.

No Ebon Idrik feathers again ... I only needed one more! :'(

    Will they ever come back?

Hard to say. The four berries for each indrik were set up to be available only in a given quarter. Last December, IIRC, all the berries were available but there is no knowing whether that will ever occur again. This quarter's four berries are for the Icebreath indrik.

The feathers are what you buy the berries for each indrik with. You need one feather of each color for the nascent indrik, and then one berry of each "name" to evolve the indrik to the currently available one. That's one each "Icebreath Berry of Bloom, Icebreath Berry of Budding, Icebreath Berry of Growth, Icebreath Berry of Ripeness".

The berries were named "Ebon" during the Ebon Indrik quarter last fall.

I happened to spend the majority of my playing time this past weekend in Cyrodiil. I am on PC/NA and it was... the worst experience I have EVER had in PvP since 2014. EXTREMELY horrible performance. Abilities not firing. Load screens back to back to back to back.

It was so bad my friends and I talked about the game feeling like a chore more than being fun. More than anything it made me sad because I really love this game so much otherwise.

I don't PvP all the time, but it seems to me like the community generally agrees that things have gotten worse since Greymoor dropped. Extremely disheartening since performance is supposed to be a focus.

If this can't be addressed (reverse whatever Greymoor caused), Midyear Mayhem should be delayed. It will be unplayable.
If there is a magic switch that can be used to improve performance for the event, this should be implemented permanently.

I had come to my own personal conclusion that part of the issue with ESO is its old game engine, that "better servers" aren't going to fix the issue, and that unfortunately it's unlikely some of this will ever be fixed. OK, fine. But top priority should be to never make it worse, and if there is some kind of way to magically make things better with more resources... it's extremely insulting to the community that it can be done for an event but not fixed permanently. It's WORSE if Midyear Mayhem is fine, when more folks are funneled into PvP, and we have a better experience. I am saddened but can accept if there are underlying problems the team doesn't know how to fix. I can be patient. But if they can be fixed and it isn't being done... that's just wrong.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

this will be interesting.. went to cyro in peak hour today... well, it was not so bad (no kicks or mass crashes), but when each ability has like 3 second delay.... it's hardly a pvp, it's a circus

Cyrodil actually tends to lag the least during MYM due to the extra server resources they assign to it.

This was unbelievable. I have not been in Cyrodiil for a while, and then only in the Sub-50 one, but I popped in there today just to take a peek. This was happening all the time, probably once a minute or so, and each time it happened, I stopped dead.

I can't play like that. :disappointed:

Best time to hold this is when PvP players don't want to play. Makes it easier for the rest of us to just get our tickets and our boxes.

Sure, the point of the event is supposed to be for the benefit of PvP players and to encourage more people to PvP, and poor performance won't help those goals. But whatever. Just let me get my quick feathers and then boxes from town quests.

I have to say, yah this kinda also crossed my mind. :| Cyrodiil is barely functioning right now, during max population it's barely holding it together. This Midyear Mayhem event shall be...interesting.

I'll probably stick to just doing more battlegrounds than usual.

It is not upgraded servers. It is removed mirrors of other zones. Overland PVE during MYM is so much worse than in normal days (or even other events).

So, if I want to finish my Indrik I have to get tickets from PvP ? Shame, I was literally giving away tickets due to having nothing to spend them on in the anniversary event. Last time I went to Cyrodiil the game did not run well.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

They don’t care, or are willfully ignorant. The simple fact that EU has the same amount of campaigns as NA with easily double the population should be enough info for you all to see that they are completely blind to the non-performance of EU, and of PvP in general.

there might be less people than the last time.

I rarely PVP, so might represent several typical PVE players.

Why I will likely not join:

    - have not even done greymoor mainquest
    - motif pages are bound, so I can't sell them (first/second legion), and the others will be damn cheap so offer not much profit (alliance/akaviri)
    - I don't like this Indrik and have all others, so do not need event-tickets (there is no nice furniture available as alternative before)

The only reason I *might* join would be to farm some telvar stones to buy hekeijos or Alliance Points to have a stock for monster sets from the golden, but with the performance people currently report it might not be worth the effort this time.

So if you are lucky, this will be a pure PVP event this time without many PVE players.

This part I think is pretty key.
If they guaranteed ahead of time that all the berries and mini-indrik pets would be available at the end of the year that would be a concession.

It used to be the IC was a separate event that was half PvP, half PvE with the dungeon option (and double drops there as well). But they packed it together with Cyrodiil now.

Ive commented elsewhere multiple times mentioning performance, as have so many others. I am not one to bang that drum needlessly or exaggerate the issue, again as so many others do.

But pvp performance had indeed plummeted to new depts, just as the OP outlines, and that was simply not playable. There were several weeks after the major update dropped there, where I loaded into BG/Cyro and it was utterly pointless, as in skills/actions literally wouldn't work, so it was just a case of logging straight back out.

I popped into Cyro last night for a bit to see if anything had improved. Defended a couple of keeps & took one as well, it was fun, these involved large groups on both sides. In general lag was present but manageable, like night and day from before. I was pleasantly surprised and managed to wrack up some decent AP in a short session.

But, when the large groups did engage - when the screen is a blaze of colour and effects... then the lag returned with vengeance. It seems pointless, for me at least, to stick around for any large scale battles. Ranged combat in the attack/defend stages or small group encounters were fine, so maybe I need to stick to that and just bug out when it gets busy.

ps, the team meeting I am in as I type, is seriously boring, that is all, you may go about your business. #workingfromhome #onlinemeetings

They used to have a different number of campaigns on the megaservers. I wonder if the campaign population caps are the same across both. I would expect, if they are, that EU players spend a lot of time waiting in a queue to get into a campaign.
