it was the steady build up I reckon.

honestly one tamrial was the release i enjoyed most as i messed around with all the sets and builds and had a huge amount of fun as the game expanded sooooo much.

Horns was great, homestead added a huge dimension to the game, clockwork city was great, but Morrowind sustain nerfs kinda coloured things, summerset launched with the light attack buffs as they embraced light attack weaving, cloud rest had some decent sets, dragon bones was hella fun, wolf hunter was also great, though mirkmire was underwhelming. I've never enjoyed a black rose prison run.

wrathstone and scale breaker has some of the best dungeons in the game, and sunspire has the best gear, i've run that trial more than anything else. northern and southern elsewyer are amazing content, but it was also a year of nerfs steadily making the things worse. This was also the year CP died and we lost all progression at end game.

greymoor is fantastic, except the gear sucks. like, all the itemisation is terrible. but no major nerfs (yet) this year so things are fine for now. hopefully the rest of the year will lift on the gear front.

you know, i read over that list and i think "holy ***, these ZoS guys have been hitting it out of the park over and over again!". For all our complaints and griping, it's insane how much quality content has been added to the game.

Pretty much everything about the game (except performance, of course) was much worse than it is today but it was also new and exciting.
Everyone was absolutely clueless and you never knew what you were gonna find next, a new adventure or a game-breaking bug.

Also, nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

    Yea gotta be that guy,

    2013
I started weekend testing in the summer but I got asked to start full time testing in October. While everyone was having fun seeing how far they could get in EP (because that was all that was unlocked on most of the weekend tests) I played through all of the DC quest line and got 3/4 way done with AD (as VR level). I also got to group with some of the folks who would go on to be bigger names in the community. (they had a limited number of folks to choose from ;) )

The reason I don't say 2014 is because the guild I helped create early on pretty much imploded once NDA was lifted and they found out that I had been testing full time when they were just doing weekends and I didn't tell them about it. There was some pretty hurt feeling over it. Most of the ones that stuck around migrated to the main guild I'm in now. I don't get to play with them much but I still do from time to time. I think the only reason they haven't kicked me yet and keep me around is for nostalgia.

Another reason I don't count 2014 was that by the time launch came around I had done so much that it took me nearly 3 months to get to new content that I hadn't seen before.

the nearer Tamriel gets to completion the better -this has been a dream for long to see all of Tamriel. currently I'm exploring Elsweyr and really enjoy it. playing without add-ons I have a lot of fun looking for skyshards and I found 12 already -so I guess I might have found all those not located in dungeons - and now I will go for the 6 remaining ones and then start the story content of northern Elsweyr. I'm enjoying ESO since One Tamriel - before I wasn't that fond of it.

At this point I had been playing about a year and knew more about the game. Mainly PVP was tons of fun. I enjoyed pvp in 2015 too, but I had started playing in vet at the beginning of 2016 and found it to be more fun than lowbie.

I voted for the Morrowind/Clockwork City year, but not because I think that was the year of the best content.

Rather, it was the year I bought ESO and discovered it for the first time. It was a magical experience that I'll never forget.

I can't really pick a "best content" year, because to me each DLC has a certain uniqueness to its content, and I enjoy them all.

It's really hard to say, because there has been a lot of highlights for me. Orsinium was an amazing DLC, TG and DB's time saw the arrival of the Maw of Lorkhaj, my favorite trial. Vvardenfell fed the nostalgia whilst also being new and also brought the first new class, it also led to CWC which was fantastic. It was also around this time I discovered my love for Stam Sorc.
Summerset had the least exciting additions imo, but the island itself was great and I enjoyed the story very much.
Elsweyr brought Necromancer. A class that has been troubled but ALSO a class I had wanted and requested for ages. Even with its problems, I still love it. The zone itself was great and learning more on the Khajiit and and Akaviri was another thing I'd wanted for a long time.

I can't comment on Greymoor yet. However, Harrowstorm's dungeons are god-tier. They sit right up there, next to my favorite; Fang Lair.

My overall favourite time in ESO though would have to be console release. Everything was just so new and exciting. PVP was a chaotic mess of joy, as nobody really knew how to make a good build, or play properly.
Everything was so fresh and unknown. Even vampires and werewolves were a rarity. Hunting for a vampire, with all the rumors going around, was like looking for a Mew under that truck in Pokemon Blue.

In every MMO, the new player experience always has a certain sense of excitement and adventure to it.Especially when the game itself is new, too.
Struggling to find a new class to call home. Please send help.

I really enjoyed PvP in 2015. People were not as locked into patterns. Today, everyone behaves the same...attacking from the same places,,defending from the same places. Back then, you never knew what was going to happen. I remember my whole group getting ganked by four NBs in the woods in an area where you’d never encounter enemies today.

It’s still fun, but I loved it around the time IC came out.

I agree with @haploeb14_ESO . You can not compare the game anymore to how it started in 2014.

Back then, everything was fresh and new and exciting. And yes, I really got goosebumps for seeing Altmer architecture and Auridon for the first time.

I enjoyed every chapter and DLC's so far.

Despite all the negative feedback on the forums, I enjoy Greymoor: The zone, the quests, the antiquities.
And so the Elder Scrolls foretold. You will be shy, and I will be bold.

Voted 2015. I'm on PC now but I started on console. I'll never forget the excitement of getting a physical copy at the midnight release at my local game store, and trying for countless hours after that to log in for more than 5 seconds without getting kicked. It was a rough start, but everything being fresh...stepping into Stonefalls for the first time, I'll never forget it.

I really enjoyed PvP in 2015, especially the PvP/PvE blend in Imperial City. I know there's probably people who put great stock in things like housing, costumes, festivals and stuff like that, but those things didn't exist back then and I never felt I missed anything because of it. So in that sense I've not gained anything, and since my favourite end game has gone down the drain of poor performance I consider it a net loss.
Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

    2014 :

    - when fighting mobs in zones was a real thing. A pack of 2-3 mobs was a real chanllenge,
    - when a named (not even boss) was hard to beat and required thinking and strategy,
    - when playing magicka & stamina skills at the same time wasn't a disavantage (skyrim style).

Greymoor is now out, all mobs are a joke, the main quest line last boss can be killed while wacthing a movie afk. What a shame.

I also liked One Tamriel; no more useless mobs below my level + ruby crafting nodes everywhere :) I remember when it just hit PTS, I logged in to test this, saw few Ruby nodes in Auridon, and logged out cause I couldn't contain the joy of this simple discovery :D

Every other update removes some fun out of the game :/ And I never enjoyed the game more than I did during just a few months of 2016.

Running as white ghost werewolf everywhere, doing quests and RP in cities as friendly werewolf. No nasty dire wolf pets, timer refill on heavy attacks and pouncing/feeding on critters. At least I have those memories, but new players will never experience this werewolf fun; Greymoor's justice system is the most awful thing which happened to werewolves (and vampires, my poor vampires...) since Dark Brotherhood :/

Don't think I enjoyed it most in 2016 because the game was so much better. But because I had just started playing. Everything was new, and I traveled on foot (as far as it is possible) from area to area, trying to explore every nook and cranny of Tamriel available. It was lots of fun, and I was in awe of all the details and the depth of the game already back then. I just to long for the evenings every day, when I was finally able to log in again and continue my "Tamriel hobo" adventure.

Of course it has grown on me since then, and in several different directions. I think PVP was the most fun just before Morrowind, the extreme sustain nerfs of Morrowind kind of took away a little of the rush. But it was still lots of fun. Especially Imperial City was a lot more alive then, and it was lots of fun running around with some Alcast werewolf build and kill people twice your CP level.

Bias post. Where is an option for, "I have enjoyed the game from beta to the present time".

Not necessarily biased if OP doesn't need your opinion, for what ever reason.
Not every poll needs to be aimed towards everyone

Also, OP asks "[...] enjoyed the most" not if you've enjoyed it at all. So you can, if you like, join the poll if you have one specific year that stands out to you

Me for example enjoyed 2015 the most. A huge reason is because of the people I was playing with in pve. Another reason was the pvp+pve we had in Imperial City and I simultanously had huge hopes that ZOS would polish the area and keep working towards that type of gameplay. Instead they did a 180 :heartbreak:

    Sorry but how exactly?

Because what i'm seeing at best at the moment is trading a problem for another, if not just straight bad choices.

The game is not improving at a rate it should, they still have not done anything to compensate for power progression like a new mode, they still have not done good performance patches... Many problems still unfixed, no new actually cool stuff... It's not getting better, it's getting stale, or even worse, and getting stale is equal to getting worse overtime.
