Yes, they do. ZoS IS Bethesda and the past few years, maybe more, they have shown a only a love for $$$, while releasing games in alpha (basically) and treating them like fully completed games, and charging full prices. I could go on and on. ZoS/Bethesda has changed not for the better, and it will be the end if Starfield, and the next Elder Scrolls is a mess.

I am an Elder Scrolls fan just like you, but please try to understand the perspective of outraged fans here. In my view, I find it very hard to respect the company for what the have done to this once great game and the Elder Scrolls franchise over the past few years, especially when some changes have been explicitly for monetization purposes. Sure, I realize that every game studio needs money to run, but having a cash shop with macro-transactions on top of a subscription, on top of skill-line unlocks, on top of "chapter" releases, on top of "DLC" releases, on top of basic "services" which should be available for in-game gold costs (tokens/skil-line and shard unlocks), on top of gambling crates... It has gone beyond making profits to totally nickel-and-diming Elder Scrolls fans who are emotionally invested in the franchise. Yet even with all these funding methods, none of the problems are ever resolved. This comes off as incredibly predatory. Did I mention that they advertise this game as Free-to-play? It's not just happening in ESO either, Fallout 76 and other games are starting to become heavily monetized in the same manner as ESO is too, so you know what the company's true intentions are. I worry a lot about the future of TES VI because of this direction.

Balance is great, I don't deny that balance needs to exist for the sake of PvP. However, balance should never erase fun and interesting play-styles or character depth. Their idea of balancing is just oppressive and kind of suspicious considering they buffed non-class skill-lines to be better than some class skills, coinciding with their new shiny new skill-line unlocks they released in the cash shop. I actually start to wonder why they made some skill-lines so stupid to rank... (Psijic skill-line anyone?) Not to mention the pre-Greymoor hyping of vampire skills only to release an abomination and suddenly give werewolves the buffs they've been begging for literally years for and spotlighting the paid vampire cure...

I don't even want to get into how wrong and unethical the whole Maelstrom weapon debacle is.

Nobody hates the game. We just want it to run properly, at least like it was running before Elsweyr release.

Yep mostly this. The content developers and community managers are great and care and I appreciate every well-done single change that comes out in ESO that either I like or I know other folks will like. Even tiny things like a cool new piece of furniture I know was designed by someone (or a team) with pride.

However there has been a subtle, slow descent into excessive monetization that has caused many of us longtime players to lose faith that there is a plan or that problematic things will be addressed. Even the standardization of abilities, which sounds good on paper, is clearly meant to reduce testing time to save costs and increase profits even though in some cases the blind adherence to those standards removed many things that people found fun in the game.

I think that they can’t just press a button so that everyone can have access to the server now and the lags disappear, but they try to fix problems as soon as possible, and I see it and thank them for that

Is for people like you, that this game is in this state, they completely runied the game experience but let's stay quiet because I have had enjoyment at some point.

We paid, we are currently using crowns , continue supporting by playing the game, we have brought friends to play, BUT this game right now is almost unplayable

Instances are bugged, animations are bugged, PVE overall is laggy, PVP IS LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE! So no, we are not gonna stay quiet seeing that hey could turn resources to FIX the damn game, this is NOT A FREE TO PLAY GAME, so is not acceptable and they keep adding content and BUGS every damn time.

Even the QoL in the game is what forces most people to quit, INVENTORY without Eso+ is awful AF and they keep adding stuff every patch and is hard to manage, the long loading screens when changing zones, entering instances, switching to another toon is getting worse, and even solo instances are full of bugs too.

We have the right to complain, you and I both paid for this and I dont want to see this game die because the game is full of bugs and lag.

Maybe they don't deserve it. It just seems that this is not the company that should be engaged in the development of the game about universe of scrolls, and I'm not talking about developers now. They are probably ashamed that they work for those managers who cannot even prioritize correctly.

I'd like to say kind and warm words about teso, about emotions, about those unforgettable impressions ... it's all has disappeared in the hell-fire of bugs, lags and lies.

I wish I didn't do the long term subscription, has anyone been able to contact support about that? I'm sure ZOS is "aware of all the issues and looking into it" but I don't really know what's going on, all this stuff with the game has been pretty consistently a negative experience for me. I'm also still qqing at the fact they were deleting comments and banning people from their pre-Greymoor Twitch streams, all the ones that mentioned servers & performance & lag & vMA. And here we are, servers still aren't working for me. I'd like a special ESO+ queue but we won't get that, I'm not sure what I'm subbed for if I can't even log on and when logged on it crashes / doesn't work properly.

A better example would be if we ordered a steak well done but you cooked it medium rare by mistake. You would take the steak back and bring us one well done. Just like ZOS will be working on fixing the issues to give us the game that both we and ZOS expected. Patience.

lol zos deserves a lot of the hate.

not for servers being overloaded by people, but for the *** choices they've made. ninja nerfs to sets, vma/dsa changes.

the overall lack of listening to their playerbase, and blatant ignoring of us. (minus the LA changes) which tbh, EVERYONE said hell no to.

currently they can't get their servers to deal with people playing, why are the releasing new content, and not focusing 100% on making the game playable. PVP in cyro is a joke. PVE is just as bad now, my group did a non primetime vss raid. final boss headslapped us, we all blocked, 8 seconds later half of us died.

You can say zos doesn't need the hate, I can say many of the long time players i know, will not pay the sub now, and are talking about quitting, because zos not only doesn't listen, but because it's gotten progressively worse over the past few years and they're sick of playing a game that doesn't work 60% of the time.

Would you buy a car without brakes or a working engine? Why do you expect people to not be upset with whats going on now?

I'd love to blame a lot of this on patch day issues, but lets be honest. It's been around for a long time and the DEVS have stayed silent.

Well, as for overland, singleplayer or out of prime-time gaming I would agree. Otherwise, sry to say it out loud, the game is a sh**show at the moment.
Realase of Greymoore was unprofessional and game perfomance improvements are still missing (PvE Trials or PvP perspective).
Like I've mentioned above, I can agree a lil bit BUT no1 should win a prize or getting praise for just doing normal/competent stuff. (for example, NOT MAKING IT PAY TO WIN when it is still a PAY TO PLAY/PAY TO SUB/ game.)

Therefore, I've read your thread, posted my opinion, but if i would have to express my feelings after this **** patchday it would be something like this:

ZOS is a company owned by millionaires. I owe them nothing and they owe me nothing. Our relationship is between a seller and a buyer.

Thus, I could absolutely not care less why their game has so many problems or how hard they are trying to fix them. I DON'T CARE as ZOS wouldnt care if my credit card had a problem and couldn't pay for new content. They wouldnt unlock it for free. They would tell me "fix your credit card and pay to play". So that's what I tell them too. Fix your junk game.

Its their own matter how they fix the issues e.g. invest more money to hire more employees, upgrade their servers etc etc.

So, I have ZERO reasons to feel sorry for them or anyhing like that as if ZOS was a charity organization working for free or a company that gave us a free-to-play game. Its not F2P. Its P2P. So I DEMAND a working game. Not sth that 50% of content is completely broken.

Yes they do. They're a poorly run company with no quality assurance on the platform they mostly develop for (PC) let alone PS4 and xbox.

When South Elsweyr came out we had 3 months of blue screens (that is crashing to desktop for your PC plebs) and nothing was done about it until the beginning of February after which lagging became a commonplace.

You may also know the phrase, "Money likes to be counted," and what it means. Very true when money exchanged between parties for this, that or whatever. The problem, and I apologize in general for my omissions, occurs when people, again in general, have difficulty compartmentalizing the topic, discussion or subject. Well state of the game completely warrants some hate posts... Especially when they have been warned on PTS forum where apparently same thing happens during introducing of NEW expansion. I really wonder why we have PTS when no-one cares about results from it.
Even I dont play much these days, I still have feeling that they just milk it dry prior shutdown.
How else you can explain persistence of some bugs for years, old zones not being optimized.
