Except this won't be fixed until some tomorrow US time. Which means that a good deal of day two for Europe will have passed by the time this might be fixed. Maybe. If we're lucky. Like always EU gets screwed and ZOS don't give a ***.

Also a lot of people don't have the luxury of being able to work from home. And yes that you and the devs can work from home is a luxury. Yet we should all have sympathy for how hard it is for you all to work from home?

There is no excuse for that. Greymoor is having monumental launch issues and yet there is a 500 Crown Gem ($200+) mount in the Crown Store. How is that acceptable?

    No, Crown Gems.

if only it happend a couple of times. at one point it has to stop.

I agree! But whilst ZOS are all working at home, and not in their usual ideal environment, we can't expect miracles from them. I'm sure that they are all really stressing right now about this, far more than we are! Maybe with the next update, fine, people can moan if stuff isn't fixed, but the entire world is crazy right now. Things aren't exactly working as they usually would in general. It's not fair for everybody to be bashing them when they are trying their best while not having the resources and work environment that they usually would have.

Lol, you sound like it was all butter smooth before covid-19. I did buy Summerset after 8 months it released, i haven't bought Elsewyr yet and didn't preorder Greymoor. I used the verb ''buy'' and not ''play'' because for the last 3-4 years Bethesda and ZOS is all about selling you DLCs, crowns, in game items etc. They don't make games and DLCs or chapters for people to enjoy anymore. Okay i get it, they make money from making games and it is all good. But there is still different approaches producing art, games, whatever you call. CD Project Red is the best example for this i think. They make games to sell but also to enjoy them, to make something out of it, to make people feel when they experience it. And at the other side we have EA, Bethesda-ZOS. They are living capitalism at its finest.

This is what make people upset or angry. When i pay for something i don't pay for the half of it, i pay for full but what i get is a half. Uncompleted, buggy, glitchy half.

So, you say we should feel empathy for them, do they feel empathy for us when we pay them, do they think ''they are paying for this so we should come up with a product that would make them happy'' ?

I think we both know the answer.

As a software developer, it's not too hard for me to relate with wfh being tough. However, as others have put forth, this is not an isolated incident. ESO has had a history of things going this way. Very recently, take performance patch. We were promised good performance but most of us could not play without client crashing every couple of minutes. And the performance hasn't improved till date. Cyrodiil became worse after the changes and Zenimax doesn't even acknowledge that.
That's just one example. Go back to the date of every update release and you'll find things going wrong in bulk. In an update, things get screwed up and then from that point on, all zenimax does is work on making things go back to normal until next update hits. To add to this all, the communication is really not good either. And no matter if you're paying $0.0001 per day to them, as long as you are paying, they are accountable. Your employer doesn't let you do a bad job if even they are paying you only pennies. They will still expect you to get the job done. Same with ZOS. If they screw up, we will show them tough love.

Edit: fixed a few grammatical mistakes.

I knew not everybody would agree with me, and that is fine, we all have our own thoughts and feelings about this, I just know how hard it is to work from home when you work within a company that relies on communication!

I know that most updates have had issues, I have played since the start, usually I am one of you guys getting irate about it, but I feel like these are strange and special times, and I feel like the people fixing this are having to work even harder to do so than usual.

Elara, it was absolutely the same before, when there were no Covid. Each update Steam users were off the boat on patch day, and ZOS was making maintenance in the night to fix issue for Steam. And I remember there was disaster in April 2018 so big, that they prolonged anniversary event for a week.

I know, usually I would not be making a post like this, I know that it is always broken in some way, I just feel like the team dealing with this are probably under an insane amount of stress right now

I think majority agrees with your intentions. There is no necessity to bash ZOS now, this won't make situation any better and I'm sure majority of them just does what they can.
But users have right to create angry threads/memes if those are within reasonable borders. Not-upgraded arena weapons and some questionable balance changes (or lack of) is another story..

I agree with you. I am just as frustrated as everyone else--I want to play the chapter, damnit!! BUT... that isn't an excuse to treat people like crap. Some people in these forums are being extremely mean. I'm not going to berate the individual people at ZOS on a personal level for this. It's not like this is what they wanted or intended to happen. No one at ZOS maliciously did this. It sucks and they need to fix it, yes. But jeez... we can have a little human decency towards the people behind the screen..

Personally, I'm not worried about whether or not I can play in the new zones right away. My main concerns as far as being able to log in each day are (1) grabbing my daily login reward and (2) doing my daily crafting writs. Anything else beyond those two things is just icing on my sweetroll.

If I miss a day on my daily login reward, it will just be a loss of 4000 gold at the end of the month, and I can get that from a day of looting, so it's no big deal.

And if I miss a day on my daily crafting writs, it's also no big deal.

Of course, I'd like to be able to get those on my PC EU character, create a new character and play through the tutorial, grab the free room at the inn, then do some questing on my main. But it won't be the end of the world if I have to wait a day.

I understand that with covid and lockdown a release isn't easy. I understand that. But with or without the covid is always the same, every release.

The game is beautiful, i love it, i really like to spend my time there and I deeply apreciate what DEVS have builded. But Pvp isn't working, pve isn't working, new patch is always a pain. With all the rispect but this start to be exhausting.

These people usually work on the game within the same office. If any need arises they can literally get up and walk over to the other person they need to consult with. I can't even imagine the limitations forced on them having to work on the game from their homes, separated from each other. Skype calls can only do so much, and I'm saying this after having just gotten off a 44 hour week done in just 4 days in a Warehouse, I'm very empathetic of overworked people right now.

Yes I tried to do some PvP the last couple of nights on Saturday and Sunday after work, which is when most everyone has their game time. Campaign was pop locked and the input lag was severe, nearly unplayable, but I'm not going to throw insults at the developers for it. I know it's an issue, it's an issue with high player populations in the same instance, and I know a solution takes ample time (if one can even be found with the architecture this game runs off of). As long as I don't die, I have all the time in the world to wait and this game isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Unless Zenimax just throws their hands up and either concludes support for the game, or announces a better built sequel.

I'm generally a lot more tolerant of bugs (like long loading screens) than I am of willfully bad decisions (like over-reliance on low-drop-rate RNG or overland, pug content that can one-shot you due to a mistake made by someone else you had no control over and no way to prevent).

But there's a process to prevent stuff like what happened today. How does no one catch some of this stuff? I mean, they spent years trying to get loading screens under control, and they finally managed real progress, only to make it worse than ever in the very next patch. I don't know how that's possible without just plain sloppiness.

I try to be understanding, and I know these are difficult times and circumstance, but right now, I'm just really disappointed.

Some of us pay, we put up with ALL the laggy Pvp and frame drops and wait while things are getting fixed just to introduce new/old issues. But the queue? That is pure bs, I don't know how they didn't expect overflow or what, considering this was anticipated and the stay home "event" we are all in. I am salty, bitter, I have been supporting this game since it was first released and for me, maybe it has just added up I think, and a queue seems like a lack of consideration toward the players and another middle finger after we dish out money.

    Greetings all!

After some editing and removing of a few posts, we would like to remind everyone that all posts should remain civil, constructive, and within the guidelines of the rules. Bashing and Baiting are both violations of the rules we have in place and are stated as follows:
Bashing and Slanderous Comments: We do not permit the bashing of individuals (including ZeniMax employees), groups, or other companies on our forums. We believe that doing so is neither constructive nor in spirit of our game and community.
Trolling or Baiting: The act of trolling is defined as something that is created for the intent to provoke conflict, shock others, or to elicit a strong negative or emotional reaction. It’s okay and very normal to disagree with others, and even to debate, but provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is never acceptable in the official The Elder Scrolls Online community. If you do not have something constructive or meaningful to add to a discussion, we strongly recommend you refrain from posting in that thread, and find another discussion to participate in instead. It is also not constructive or helpful to publicly call out others and accuse them of trolling, or call them a troll—please refrain from doing so. If you genuinely believe someone is trolling, please report the post or thread to the ESO Team, and leave it at that.
If there may be any questions in regards to the rules, please feel free to review them here.

    Thank you for your understanding,

So let's not use the Zos label for every employee. Elara's right in that respect.

There is a specific group of people who manage server stuff. Mud goes that way>>>

The artists, story tellers, zone designers and lore writers are likely sitting there feeling exactly the same as we do right now. They spent all that time, probably got paid peanuts, and would have been stoked waiting to see us explore the zone.

I got in for 35mins earlier and it felt sooo cool.

Then I learnt Harrowstorms couldn't be soloed. But that was funny.

Thank you design team -thank you artists -thank you lore makers -thanks to pretty much everyone BUT those two teams that have let us down in every update but shall not be named.

Maybe it will occur to them they let down their workmates too.

    Dear Elara,

Source of the problem isn't `1 more day without Greymoor`.
It's a snowball effect rolling down since quite some time and splashed the ground today with this failed launch.

    I think I can simply order the problems as following;

    1) Communication failures
ZoS Developer team isn't communicating enough with reasons of why they're doing stuff, in-line of what, according to what standards (as they're using this word quite a lot). Their road-map is unclear, what they have in mind is unclear and they love keeping it this way. People hate things they can't predict.

    2) Hypocrisy
    e.g.
They have changed let's say 2 places in-game:
    1) Veteran Asylum Sanctorum +2: Now every new Concentrated Force dropped there won't have unique value, instead XXX. It's fine. But changed the weapons in our inventories too, which we dropped before Greymoor chapter. It is disadvantage for us. But happened.
    2) Veteran Maelstrom Arena: Now every new Crushing Wall has changed too. And we have looted our weapons before Greymoor, but this time they don't change the weapons in our inventories. Because it is to our advantage.

This approach isn't acceptable. Either do both or don't. It's a personal decision of someone in the Developer Team and this approach cannot deserve any respect.

    3) Unending and unfruitful lies:
They have promised us to eliminate or reduce in-game lags, desyncs, FPS spikes, and bugs. We have re-downloaded the whole game for this. The result was only regret & disappointment. Since I joined this game nearly 8-9 months ago, I have seen 3-4 updates which `Fixing` exactly the same things all over again. It's either game is dead, or the team is lying.

    4) Dishonesty:
    e.g.
    Currently Followed Policy
    > Buff A,B,C,D by 50%-70% (they're aware and noting this to be fixed 2 patches later)
    1 month later:
    > Buff E,F,G,H by 50%-70%
    2 months later:
    > Hammer A,B,C,D by 50/70%
    1.5 months later:
    > Buff P,N,R,T by 50-70%
    1.5 months later:
    > Hammer E,F,G,H by 50-70%
    ...
    ...
    and so on.

ESO Combat Team meeting with the Managing Board:
    > Yes Sir, we're constantly working & keeping up to date in accordance with the community to make sure incomes are stable & increasing.

    Fact:
    > They're actually creating their very own job need to secure their very own future to be able to tell "there is a roadmap" to higher echelons.
    > The only real workers are "Lore team, dungeon designers, text-writers, community managers" etc.

    The Combat Team:
    > There is no such approach called "Buff 50% to Nerf 50% 2 months later" it's not tweaking. It's destruction. Its proof of they doesn't have any idea over what they are simply doing, proof of "No vision" at all.
    > There is a somehow ticking combat system, more or less satisfying. Fine-tune it, 5-10-15% and within 6-7 months you can find a sweet spot of skills/abilities in harmony.

    5) And finally, the epic launch failure with Greymoor, where people were whining in the forums since the first day about their unhappiness with many changes included, it's announced but no-one cared at all.
    ----

And Forum Moderators are removing messages secretly from all over the places. There is heavy censorship here. They want us to write all this on Twitter I think after tagging all devs & company owners and start a Mexican wave there. Do not remove messages like this please. It's uncivil and autocratic.

I can count more, but I will not bother myself. I just wanted to say it's not `late launch` that raging people.

    Sincerely!

The forums are here to inform them of game issues, ask questions and offer up ideas, not to spew hatred, anger and ignorance. People need to he built up and encouraged not torn down. Zos does need love and encouragement. After all they are people like the rest of us doing a demanding and stressful job. For the most part i enjoy my ESO experience and performance is good for the most part with the odd glitch or bug that is humourous at times and rarely game breaking. I just reload and carry on.
