Despite the issues they sort things out in a couple of hours. Congrats for that.
I hope there's lessons learned for console greymoor release.

I used to work in SEO company where I have to contact with a lot of unhappy customers. Company services was crappy and managment style was controversial so it was nothing weird that we have angry customers. I didn't have any capabilities to make things better because I had almost 400 customers and their websites to work. I should have 10 times less to have any possibility to do a good work for all of them. I quit this job couple years ago but still remember how frustrating for it was.

In higher managment of companies we have often greedy people. I believe that in ZOS are some people who care and love their job, but they can't do anything because Zenimax cuts the costs. They probably need more employees to do their work right but they won't get them.

So I send some love and understaning for this part of team which really want it better game but instead must deal with limited resources and players frustration.

btw I played only a hour but Greymoor looks beautifull :)

    Wow......
I think you just have to be a ZOS employee today. If you do your job well, everyone will love you.
If you don't do your job well, everyone will still love you!
So why the hell should I hang in there?

HOWEVER, you dont push a broken product out the door because your work situation isnt ideal and you need to meet a deadline set by yourself. Push it back two more weeks or more if you need too. But.get.it.right. Because people remember this right here. They remember being frustrated and aggravated and bugs and problems and not being able to play even though they should be able too. They will remember this in 2 years, 4 years maybe 10 years. You know what they will forget about in 2 years? That you pushed the game back another two weeks to make things right. They will only remember a mostly smooth release not that it was two weeks late.

ZOS is always coming up with inventive new ways to screw things up. Push back a week, and we get what happened yesterday. Push back 2 weeks, we just get a different mix of things. Push back a month, something will go wrong, just for different reasons.

I don't think that the problem is the schedule. I think that the complexity of what they are doing, and how they have things set up internally, result in seemingly random failures at any point in the process.

As a result, they launch, then spend a long day fixing things that went wrong with that launch  , and follow up with patches and hotfixes over the course of the next few weeks. Then, they repeat.

Lol, no. The criticism you're seeing towards ZOS is incredibly warranted. Few other MMOs have as many chronic issues and poor community engagement as this game.

IMO, there's only two groups of people that deserve some love. Support, first. They're the ones dealing with irate customers, and restoring my characters for the third time. Second, the developers left cleaning up these issues. I'm sure these guys are working loads of hours and tight deadlines. They're both absolute champs and every single one of them deserve a raise and a brand new puppy who can love them unconditionally.

Now, the people who made this decision to launch this game now on top of the performance issues- they get no love. They're not making good decisions and their community management strategy leaves a lot to be more desired. They're ignoring and in some cases downright silencing what the community is telling them. This expansion should have been delayed. The game clearly needs investment in server architecture and deployment tools.

Love? It happens every xpac. They should show buyers more love.

I think a free house giveaway period or something like ESO+ for a month would be appreciated.
