I see hundreds of forum post, hundreds of people complaining about lag.... Do we still not get a statement? Just a Chapter shoved down our throats but no fix insight for this lag/stability issues?

I get this lag in Cyrodiil.. Its been getting worse, but skill delay/queue skills:

Then outside Cyrodiil, skills dont even go despite hitting the button x many times.

I've seen mods respond to several forum threads, close several forum threads, but never actually address the biggest, most concerning issue...Gameplay stability and performance.

Why should we buy Graymoor if your game isn't working? 6 years, going on 7 for me and this is the worst it has ever been.

    It's getting pretty bad.

    My Nightblade was killed by three random mobs because my skills were not firing at all and this was just walking through the overland of Summerset.
    PC NA. Various alts, trying to find a main, I have no idea what I'm doing.

    I hadn't realised that overland pve was affected yet so thank you for sharing this. I was surprised to discover the skills not firing in delves while hunting skyshards recently, though.

    Problem is that most overland players/questers will probably just ignore it and move on, writing it off as a temporary glitch. I think we really need lots of F1 bug reports every time this is experienced - would be harder to ignore, maybe, if there's an overwhelming surge of in-game bug reports about these performance issues?

    Agreed, I mean it seems forums are useless and not actually read anyways.... Look at the forums HUNDREDS of lag post and all ignored the "Z" icon really means "I copy/pasted a forum response about multiple post violating our terms of service and we had to remove them. As a reminder, please read the community rules"...No Developer actually talks to us :/

    Allegedly, a fix they think might work is to be included in the update on Tuesday. Of course, I can't find the thread it was posted in, it was probably deleted by the Ministry of Truth mods.

    Allegedly, a fix they think might work is to be included in the update on Tuesday. Of course, I can't find the thread it was posted in, it was probably deleted by the Ministry of Truth mods.

    It'd be great if they could confirm this. I get theyre holding off until their RC is ready and they dont want to risk anything for its release.....But surely they can make a statement. Use this forum @ZOS_GinaBruno anything for us?

    This, as even when just doing quests and such, which is what the game is now more geared towards these days, it is still bad with the lag, and was never this bad before :(

    We'll see. They didn't make a statement about the current lag, which is new and that article doesn't cover the current lag, just old lag. This current lag is New Issues + old Issues colliding, I doubt the next chapter will fix, they'll just spin up more game servers / hardware to support the first week then drop them.

    If you don't believe what they put in a series of articles on the main site why are you hoping for a statement via a different method? Would it be more believable if it was a forum post?

    Supposedly they made a great effort to improve communication a while back......of course it was a couple of dev updates then back to business as usual.

    It shows they acknowledge the current issue. They hear the player worries and understand the frustration.

    At least they address it, it doesn't even need to be a fix right this moment it just needs to be "we understand." Even games like BDO (Sick monetization) at least give you "We're sorry" in the mail.

    I don't believe them when they put out that performance plan roadmap only because the state we're in now and we're like at 3/5 total already rolled out.

    We'll see, but I'd love for ZOS to be like "Heres a week of ESO+ due to the current issue" or just a general statement about the game. And its not a total of influx of new players due to covid-19 because even steam charts show its losing players right now.

    It's much more important to prevent people from being toxic and harassing each other than remove one of the biggest sources of frustration in the game. /s

    but really, these things are handled by different teams... The people who design and release new content are not the same people who work on the core engine.


    Remember when this game was brand new and cyrodiil could have over a thousand players with very little lag?

    During that time, we also had dupe bugs and bots that could teleport from node to node instantly, just harvesting whole maps in minutes. I've seen this happen to so many mmos... All the stuff they do to preserve the game integrity ruins the game performance.

    They need to fix the database and come up with a better solution for teleporting bots.

    Or what else can they do?

    Personally, I would fire just about all community managers and whoever the heck, even if firing 10 of them lets me hire just one engineer, I would squeeze every bit of my budget into engineers to fix the game's performance. Content must continue to be churned out to ensure profits but there's a LOT of wasted budget.

    I know it's not what you want, but there has been updates. They probably aren't going to say anything else until after Greymoor release, which is supposed to have even more "fixes". I hope everyone floods these forums full if servers are still shite for weeks, months after this.

    To be fair - the Mods here are just tasked to try to keep some form of orderly discourse, not to supply info or answer questions.
    Mods typically aren't given info to disseminate.
    And the Devs are too busy devving to spend much time coming here to answer questions with info they're not authorized to discuss.

    There needs to be an actual role in an info stream from ZOS to us that ZOS has no desire to implement.
    The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

    @Casterial Bro, I know you mean well, but you'll never get a statement from ZOS. It's a shame too. This game used to be so much fun. I think most of use Vets are still here simply because we have nowhere else to go.

    And I have a hard time resisting to take jabs here and there myself; but I wouldn't beat up our communication team. This sort of thing smells of a management decision to not dedicate resources toward it, or at least minimal; so they can push through the chapter for sales. I'd bet Gina and Jessica, as well as some of the devs; are just as frustrated as we are.

    Yes, theres Game Team and Core Team, their Core Team seems very underfunded as compared to their CS. If Mod isn't volunteer, then I completely agree there are far too many mods.

    I tackled this in an above comment, read it if you haven't! Thank you for the post though. It is useful, but it doesn't tackle the issue at hand right now, those were already planned.

    Don't expect much. ZOS profit is in the Crown Store and all of reasons people spend money that are unrelated to server performance.

    And it's quite possible they've build an artistic beast with technical issues they can't resolve...as witnessed by recent attempts to fix it only make matters worse.

    I do agree with this statement 100% Technical debt can become a monster....a million dollar monster.

    Hey all,

    At this time, there are no immediate plans to reintroduce group queuing for PvP Battlegrounds in ESO. We are focusing on game performance improvements, and monitoring PvP Battlegrounds activity and feedback. If we do consider reintroducing group queueing for PvP Battlegrounds in the future, we’ll let everyone know.

    There was this official statement put out to help settle speculation on another thread that clearly says there working on performance.

    I think they don't want to give you a direct answer because there's no promises any fix will work. This statement does imply that at least the PvP department is prioritizing it. (Whether that's the department you'd like to hear from is another concern.)

    Well you have to understand, any official statement will cost them revenue in some manner, either they commit to upgrading their servers and host IP or they announce they have no plans to fix the problem and masses of players give up. So yeah, why would they risk the revenue?

    I agree that the performance is a serious problem but Zos has made a statement. That statement is in the form of an updated performance improvement plan.

    Granted, they can address why the previous stages of the plan do not seem to have the positive effect we would expect but the fact is Zos did make a statement.

    You're probably right about this.

    It doesn't change the situation for us though.
