Roots are out of control and need to be nerfed in PvP

Pvp in this game has devolved into nothing more than constant root spam and aoe's. The adjustment made several patches ago completely failed to dial in constant rooting as a pvp mechanic.

Several causes of this being the far too short root immunity on race against time and that cleansing roots via purge allows them to be reapplied nearly instantly.

Roots are a low skill high annoyance mechanic that directly contributes to poor gameplay. Nerf them in pvp

    From patch when they granted root immunity on roll-dodge + RAT + some game wide snare nerfs, I never had any problems with roots&snares. "Just keep on rolling, babe"

    And here I am struggling to keep people rooted with all the root immunity, dodge rolling, and purges. Dealing with the immobilization status effect is so easy nowadays everyone knows how to do it. If you have issues dealing with it I recommend increasing your stamina pool, using abilities like Race Against Time, using purges, and/or being more careful with how much you block and break free. You should always be trying to keep enough stamina to get out of crowd control effects.

    Please keep in mind that certain abilities have other things tied to control abilities that do not work unless the control also works. For example, the current stun and root immunities are also preventing classes like Dragon Knights from using skills like Talon and Petrify to deal damage/heal. If you want these abilities to begin applying both effects (a stun and a debuff causing your next attack to heal, or a immob and a sec3ond effect that does a DOT) that's one thing. But further nerfing these abilities without concern for the classes that use them needs to stop.

    Just give roots a cd much like breakfree, if you break the root you should be immune for 5 seconds.

    It's already 2 seconds. If you make it 5 seconds then they'll have to remove the numerous skills that break/make you immune like Race Against Time etc.

    You have skills like Talon which just is a damage perma-root spammable.

    5 seconds from shuffle is meh but at least we have that. Of course, roots are really only out of control in certain 1v1 scenarios and when being zerged down

    I always hated all the CC crap in PVP. Nothing about it felt much like fun...especially on mag toons with their pitiful amount of stamina. Just dumb design.

    So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

    They are fine when the game isn't broken and the counter measures perform as described. i.e not being cc'd twice in a row....

    CC immunity is broken way beyond repair.

    You can have Immov pot + Shuflle/RAT etc and still be CCed (server desyncs/jitter).

    roots are fine and the 2 secs immunity is enough + RAT and Shuffle exists. Atleast with Roots some fights actually end and not be a chase until eternity since people are so afraid to die that has to try to run when about to get KO`d.

    Playing CC style of playing with control and DoTs (that were nerfed a bit too much) should be a viable option instead of only Burst and nothing else.

    Only problematic root is Chilled+woe as this effect ignore root cooldown during status reapply unlike other roots.

    Recent PVP battles, it doesn't matter, Either your Root doesn't stick to your enemy until 4 - 7 seconds later due to Lag, or you yourself get rooted and never get immunity and die cause you cannot do anything due to lag....

    With the way Lag is if you cast on the run you will prolly root yourself :)

    the frost roots are the real problem as u are also snared. the root immunity should be increased to 4 sec to match the dodge roll fatigue.

    It's funny that you think it's a "root" causing you to not be able to move or respond to the fight, the reality is it is their junk server and code thinking your character is stuck and doesn't know how to respond to the action inputs you are trying to execute to break free.

    Roots aren’t the issue, OP sorry to say, it’s you. Been playing for 5 years, the game has more mobility than ever. Consider maybe instead of dumping all your points into max mag maybe giving up just enough mag to break free or roll dodge or block. BUt MY DaMAGE PoOL. You’re part of the problem.

    Doesn't one of the Mythic items being released give immunity to immobilization's and snares at the cost of not being able to run in combat can't remember the name though.
