Why are my mag skills still using stamina?

It happened to me with Radiating Regeneration yesterday. I was stuck behind a door in a dungeon and casting it randomly when it stopped going off properly. At first I thought it was the super-common bug where skills don't fire, but then I noticed that my stamina was at 0 and my magicka was full. Further experimentation showed that Radiating Regeneration was costing stamina. It went back to normal before it occurred to me to try other skills.

It's a glitch that's been going on for a while. Roll dodging fixes it.

It's because you're perma blocking. The bug has been present since last patch. It's a gamebreaker. If you get hit, it costs stamina too (because it thinks you are blocking). Thus... if you are under severe attack in PVP or PVE, your stamina is gone in seconds... and since the attack will continue you cannot dodge roll (since you don't have the stamina for it)... so... the work around is... DYING... stupid huh?? Game breaking is what I call it.

Been getting this bug too, but in addition to using stamina none of the skills are actually going off. I can only light attack. Sometimes a bar swap plus LA takes care of it sometimes not. Usually my stamina has to drain all the way down first then bar swap, LA, bar swap again and that returns everything to normal. Even heavy attacks won’t register.

Sounds like the sprint bug to me. Can't use skills and stam is depleted.

Happened to my templar on EU around one month ago. One of my magicka based skills was completely draining my characters stamina. My character could be standing still and stamina would continue to drain away. Unfortunately I cannot remember which skill I was using at the time.

Now that I think about it I was sprinting before one creature engaged me each of the last two times. Had I kept running instead of fighting back I probably could have avoided all the hassle!

This has happened to me several times healing in dungeons. I get the bug where my skills don't go off at all constantly. It seems to eventually go away on its own, or switching weapons/roll dodging sometimes fixes it. Then I sometimes get the glitch where my abilities start using stamina, and the game must think I am blocking because taking damage drains my stamina too. I can't roll dodge to try and fix it because I have no stamina, and I can't heal myself because my spells try to use stamina, so I just end up dying. Which is extremely frustrating.

I've heard people say its supposed to be fixed the Greymoor but I dunno... Has anyone said its not happening on PTR?

lol my radiating regen actually made my health decrease

ZOS should add a set that makes all positive effects negative so we can punish balltards in PvP once and for all!

I’ve seen it happen on IC-CP campaign for the most. When it happens to me i usually can’t swap bars either. The quick fix is to let your stamina drain and imagine that while you are Fighting a district boss while enemy players show up.

It happens on any of my mag 13 chars - on Xbox EU
It happens on overworld, trials and Cyrodiil. I play more over world - so I notice it more

I do not believe it is anything to do with blocking - I don’t usually block on overworld!

It makes none of my mag skills work

Roll dodging may fix but the problem is that the stam pool is often 0 by the time you notice (most of my chars have 10k stam) so you can’t dodge roll for a few second - by which time you are dead if are attacking something big

I think that having 0 stam pool might be a cause / trigger - I haven’t been able to properly replicate it though - I’ll keep trying

How often - every hour or so . It’s very common and ive spoken to at least 15 people who have same issue

Right I’ve managed to replicate it repeatedly

1) sprint (or cast a skill) to run out of stam
2) whilst at zero stam , tap block
3) hey presto, no more magika skills

Okay. Same thing on one of my NA templars tonight. Blazing spear skill (2797 magicka) turned itself into a stamina skill. Even bar swapping is draining stamina.
Bar swapping does fixes the problem with blazing spear.

For the same reason you can get killed by a mudcrab while waiting for your mag skills to actually fire off, THE GAMES BROKEN MORE NOW THAN IT HAS EVER BEEN, at least the clown store still works as does the monthly eso+ subs

The fact that people are arguing about specifically which bug this is (sprint bug, skills costing stam, something to do with block) really shows how broken this game currently is.
