This basically drills down to the fact that the Gaming Community will put up with launches and games that have issues, and the reason they do? There’s only one Company that does Game X.
They know they have a captive audience, people very rarely vote with their feet online.
If this was the "real world" so to speak issues like this and the ones we have seen since launch would be grounds for terminating a contract.
People should familiarise themselves with the ITIL Definitions of Warranty and Utility.....To me as an SDM there is a lack of both here at the moment.

For the people who cry about maintenance windows during "primetime".
It's always 5 o'clock somewhere.

I took Blizzard two months to get World of Warcraft running stable / playable. I guess this means you can cancel your sub now because I can promise you, 1 month is not enough to get all these problems solved - imagining otherwise is wishful thinking on your part.
Hey all UK player on EU server here.
Just tried to log in and get a server maintainance message.
Have not been ay home most of day so not tried logging in till now.
23 pages is a lot to go through but I have read some and scanned others. I did not see an estimate from devs for this downtime and there is no message on launcher (this is something that could have / should have been done).
So, at the risk of being turned on; have we an estimated down time?
Anywho, I have a room that is begging to be tidied. So! I guess I have something to do for an at least.

Nothing new there though. As far as i saw in the past , not a single MMO followed ITIL/SDLC guidelines. Customers are handled differently in MMO than other online services. They don't mind loosing customers. The company i work if i make an error which causes possible customer loss , also means my resignation for grave professional error , which for me means i don't get any unemployment money.

I used to be a fanboy like you, but then I took a prime-time maintenance in my game (like many times). For the people who cry about maintenance windows during "primetime".

I used to be a fanboy like you, but then I took almost no feedback from Zenimax Online.

@arrisiane Exactly and because of this we have the issues we continually see with MMO's.
I know what you mean I also work for a Managed Services Provider, when theres an interruption to a Customers Service theres a large cost involved to the provider, be it Service Credits, Reputation or loss of Business, and as you say someone will take the bullet for it.

Problem is they always hide behind their EULA , whether it is legal or not.

Well 7.25pm on a Saturday. Doesn't get more prime time than that. Assuming it's to do with the problems logging in today. Might have to inquire about some more game time as recompense if this carries on.
