They've started it. A lot of the people ARE now banned from forums.
But don't worry, those of us who aren't banned in game but know innocent people who were banned will keep bitching for them.
I don't play this game unless with my gf. This is our little hobby together.
So, what, will they ban me for sticking up for her? Well, that'll make the decision real easy on whether to wait it out or find a new game now.
I'm actually enjoying listening to people make excuses while seemingly unaware that ESO keeps logs of your actions.

This!
It is unbelievable that here in 2014 people dont understand the easiest bits about server technology. It's not like they banned on a whim, they have logs of EVERYTHING.

She's not lying to me about the ban. We play together. Sitting by each other.
I can see everything she does, and we were playing together when she randomly got kicked out of game.
I can tell you she's A) not in a guild with a guild bank. Andhas 3k to her character's name.

That is a very general view that will not stand further questioning. You are partly right and partly wrong.
But they can see a lot. That still does not mean there can not be mistakes.

That's not the point here.
The bans happened after a process of evaluation. This process is appropriate for an online game. So yes - it is the right way to ban if there is suspicious activity.

Then I hope you can get over the anger about the ban by doing something great together while the support lifts the ban
I would like to suggest that if you ban an ingame-account you should also ban the linked forum account.
Yes - there MIGHT - be people that were banned wrongfully. But I am sure these bans will be lifted with an appropriate apology - maybe even with a reward (at least the game-time should be refunded, naturally).
These people can appeal their ban through the support and if that does not suit someone there is still a legal option left.
Everyone else is just as guilty as most of the prison inmates. They should not be allowed to rant in here and slander on a game that can still (despite the obvious BIG, HUGE, MASSIVE flaws) be a great game if those cheating idiots would not succeed in actually spilling their hateful speech all over the place.
And if YOU (yes, you) are one of those ranters, that are guilty but pulling off a number in the forum, and you want to tell me that this is "freedom of speech" then I hope a tree punches your head hard during the next summer-storm.

You realise that there is exceptional evidence that alot of the banned individuals were affected by the bank bug right? Zenimax's bug sent them duplicate CE items, so basically it is very likely that their process of evaluation flagged players who they themselves compromised by sending them duplicate items (they are flagged as unique, players technically shouldn't have two of them).
If I knew, that there was no chance that someone I trust implicitly had been banned due to this bug, i'd slap him on the back and tell him it was just tough love. But when there has been overwhelming posts suggesting this is the case then I will not sit in the corner and accept it, because it's not right and I am sick of worrying about bans. First it was partners being banned for exchanging gold (unjustified and turned around after 2-5 days), now there's a chance people are being banned due to developer bugs?
I haven't been banned, my husband had. I didn't have the bank bug, he did. Given that I can see his computer screen at any time I have no reason to doubt his innocence. And i'm on the forums because his last 3 tickets due to his wiped bank were ignored.
If the masses are right and alot of these bans were wrong, then it has massive implications for both the companies credibility and customer trust. And the real kicker? We were both loving this game.
