It's the Hollowfangs vs. a plague as MOONGRAVE FANE battles SCALECALLER PEAK! Will the vampires drain the dragon priest, or will Zaan's pestilence rot their teeth out? YOU DECIDE!

A list of the overall action for BOTH the base and DLC competitions can be found HERE, so people can get a quick glance at the overall action.

All fights will go for TWO DAYS and end at 8PM CST (or your timezone equivalent; figure it out) so this one will end on Saturday, March 28th.

    I can't chose.

Scalecaller was my first dlc that I tanked. The place where I learned I didn't know how to tank at the time. It holds a special place in my heart.

Moongrave fane on the other hand is the only dlc dungeon that actually requires a healer. Yes. U heard me right. A place where a healer doesn't feel useless.

I will dwell on it, and maybe I will chose, but for now, it is no vote from me.

Moongrave Fane feels like one of those wedding ‘must have’ customs - something old (think the stone atro from vAA), something borrowed (like the ‘must break the shield’ mechanic from MoL), something puzzling (oh I know, Lara Croft sliding blocks), something blue (oh, wait that’s the other one). I do really like the haemo blood sphere thing and the dynamics of the second last fight. The final boss fight is just garbage though and the tie in to dragons is pitiful.

Scalecaller loses it every time because of its unamusing, undodgeable poison mechanic. No skill required, just the ability to be on the lucky side of the line time after time after time.

Red orbs? Nice mechanics, but inconsistent. Sometimes you use them to remove shields/immunity, other times to interrupt, yet other times to prevent a one-shot team wipe.

Meanwhile, don't get me started about the cubes. Worst thing a developer ever came up with in ESO. It's clunky, not fun, time consuming, distracting... The only cube I might consider leaving in the dungeon is the one during the Grundwulf fight, the one he ties to hide behind and you get to push it away and let Grundwulf get hit in the face by fire. Moongrave Fane had a lot of potential, but the gimmicky mechanics just spoil it for me.

SP is a much more consistent dungeon. It also has some original mechanics, but they are fun to do rather than a chore that interrupts the fight. Also, Zaan is one of the most sought-after monster sets.

I like SCP, boss mechanics are great, but it's a bit too long.

HM is a shitshow but the title is dope.

Might be my two favorites pitted against each other. Nooooooo!!!!! Scalecaller wins as I have more memories in it, since it has been around longer.

I have a lot of mag toons, and needed a lot of Zaan heads. Then there were the several dozen runs helping other people get Zaan. At this point SCP is firmly in the category of places I’d be happy to never see again.

I love SCP. I always crack up on voice chat with Zaan dialogue. "MUHHHH SHIEEELDDDD". I also recommend reading the journal about the plague boss. It really grossed me out, which means it's good writing.

I also think the mechanics are breath of fresh air. They are not the vanilla "Stay out of red". All fights had different and unique mechanics. I think most people get frustrated when they jump blind into vet SCP, since the mechanics are so unique you can't really adapt from past experiences on the get go, so you will wipe until you figure it out. It's one of the few dungeons I'd recommend first doing normal, then coming vet, unless you have someone to explain to you the mechs then just go vet hahaha

The double troll mechanic, each with their own mechanic and interacting with each other, it's a really different fight that I don't think I have ever seen in ESO before. I think most people wipe here because the indicator for you to use the ice mechanic bugs out 50% of the time, so you have to know when it will happen and not space out.

Gargoyle balls are really unique and I actually quite like them. If I recall they ended up nerfing that fight but I think it's one of the fights where it's on DPS's job to do the mechanic rather than tank or healer, which is why it can be frustating, since most DPS are used to burning through everything.

The ice giant with nereids is kind of cancer because of how they implemented, I dont think many people even know the mechs because they cheese it but basically every 10% it spawns a Nereid and you have to kill it because it activates the mechanic that does a lot of damage (or straight up one shots if you dont have enough hots on you). I think it's interesting but they should increase boss HP because a lot of the time my dots take down the boss HP while I am killing the add, resulting in me running around more often than attacking the boss. Ironically I also like this, it punishes dummy humpers.

Plague fight is a little bit boring because of the HP, but I think the concept is nice. Tank having to block the plague coming from sewers is really unique makes it more interesting for tank pov. Killing adds for the cure is also a really nice touch, the cure giving you ult gen and etc. I wish they made the boss do more things rather than acting like an archer NPC with a lot of HP. Overall I think it's fine that this boss is pretty easy compared to the last ones, It has it's own thematic which I feel makes up for the lack of challenge.

Zaan. Oh boy. This is my favorite dungeon boss of the game. The mechanics are fluid, fun, and very intuitive. Having to block the zaan proc on the poor soul, running to her shield, ice phase, overall I think it's pretty decent. Even HM I feel it's pretty intutuive and honestly could've been the base fight, it's just too crowded with mechanics, I feel the room (it's not a really room but you get it) should've been a bit bigger, it would make the fight more pleasant imo. The only mechanic which gets on peoples nerves is the poison mechanic, and honestly I don't blame them, it's something that's on the tank to figure it out and the other 3 guys suffer from it. Group should actually be really close to the statues, not the opposite. It's a bit counterintuitive, but if you're closer the aoe is narrower, making it easier to dodge. I wish you could roll dodge through it as well on non-HM.

Overall what I like the most about this dungeon is how it actually has a personality, as in, it feels completely unique and different from every dungeon. Even the dialogues, it's all really well done.

Moongrave is pretty wonderful (leagues better than the other three dungeons from 2019, at that) but SCP is my favorite overall dungeon of all time and Zaan is probably the coolest boss imo. I can't get enough of her design--personality, voice acting, boss mechanics, everything

Moons Graved wins for me cause I play healer, it is very nice having both bosses which require burst healing not just one shot positioning mechs and mechs which are designed for healer to participate in like the balls or ghost thing.

Healing phase of shield boss is really fun, still not difficult but at least time an ult and require positioning that favors healing.

Volcano one, healing fun for this and move around plus get to scold people for vampirism.

Ghosty boss, healer gets an actual mech to handle with launching the ball very nice, just need more fights that require healer dps (like chain thing in fang lair)

Scalecaller, is fun but you can probably do it without a healer.

    MAH SHIIIIEEEELLLLD

Zaan cracks me up, the fights are fun with a coordinated group, the mechanics are fair and for the most part don't rely on RNG or horsesh...droppings.

Now if only someone in there would cough up Jorvuld's lightning for my healers. :(
