Light attack nerf

Setting the standard of the game, to players who dont know how to play the game is a really bad decision. And will truly be the last straw this new clueless combat team will do for a lot of people.

    Without playtesting, I'm not going to say I mind the proposed change a ton. While I've always liked animation cancelling for faster attacks, weaving is not something I am as wed to. It was a necessary part of doing damage, not something I 'enjoyed' or felt made combat smoother/more interesting.

    Also, using heavy attacks situationally is interesting. Not sure their changes will actually bridge the gap between low and high apm players though.

    Are maelstrom staves going to get a new bonus if these go ahead. As buffing limp noodle light attacks is pretty disappointing :/

    You can grab your torches and forks: I like the LA nerfs.

    Right now 99% per of all players weaver a LA in between their skills. On live servers there was zero room for anything other than LA - 1 - LA -1 - LA -2 - LA -3 playstyle.

    Which may be OK, honestly. It can help differentiate good from bad players, without it being directly about damage, and without it being highly burst oriented in PvP as it is now.

    Hard to say without playtesting.

    This change alone is not a big deal, but a complete overhaul to LA/HA in the middle of massive performance issues.... ehhh

    Maelstrom staff adds a flat amount of damage. The decrease in LA damage does not affect it at all.

    Hate to break it to you. If the change goes through LA weaving will equate to about 400 stam/mag recovery. It's not going anywhere.

    I like this change actually. Was never as good as guys who do the perfect weaving, because I can't do this crazy amount of LA clicking. Even with the changes you still need to do some LA's though to keep the resource-gathering up, but that should be fine. It always bugged me that I was never able to reach such high DPS numbers, just because my LA weaving doesn't work as good (when players do 90k at puppets, I am doing 60-70k with raidgear for example).

    Issues with nerfing ACing and tank meta? Lets nerf light attack damage by 78% and incentivise light attack spamming!!!!
    Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

    U think it will change? The only difference is that those that dont la, wouldn't be able to sustain.

    After changes some players will do around 70k and You will get 40 at best, so they will be clearing vets as they do and You will be struggle at dungeons

    It's almost scary how they're going down the same path DCUO has. Reminds me of weapon mastery/awesome mechanics, which was an awful attempt at increasing dps among the low skilled section of the playerbase. Spoiler alert: Vet DPS still outdamaged them, even if it was extremely dumbed down.

    Catering to low skilled players won't help at all. In fact they will now complain about not having access to the resource recovery vs efficient light attack weavers.

    I knew a light attack nerf was coming. Didn't think it would be this awful. They really are winging it....i mean killing it :trollface:

    The changes themselves don't necessarily upset me, I'll adapt, but the constant changing of a combat system that has been around for SIX YEARS is pissing me off. STOP CHANGING THINGS TO CATER TO THOSE UNWILLING TO MEET THE BAR, YOU JUST BREAK THE GAME MORE AND MORE WHEN YOU DO THIS!

    This really was such a great game but its been poorly managed over the last year.

    I'd be willing to bet a mass exodus will take place this year.

    It will even broaden the gap

    If you can not pull high dps with this fast paced combat, you can not pull in the slowed version either
