Offered to help a guildie who was having issues in Direfrost. They couldn’t beat Drodda because no one knew how to bash.

Their response was “how much CP?”

Now aside from the fact that they could just look up my CP in the guild roster, it’s someone offering to help them.

    Never been asked that before....

I left 810 behind so long ago I can’t even remember when it was an issue.

@Gonadius /played in the chat window will tell you exactly how much for a given character. A little surprised they haven't implemented a /playedAll command yet.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

The community really looks down on new players and people that dont have CP810. I cant count how many times we have had to re-Q for a dungeon, sometimes re-Qing 3-5 times to get a team that would stay, sometimes having people drop group before the team got to get started just because someone didnt like our CP level. This has happened in Random Normals. My fav response was when I had CP330 and someone said "Your the healer? How can you heal anything with that low CP" The tank left group without us killing a single mob. I have played the healer or some other support class in every MMO I have played for over 20 years.

I have been in leveling and social guilds. Lots of low level players come across this and leave the game in frustration of how new players and lower CP levels are treated. Any time the topic comes up I am going to point this out because new players are what keeps any MMO going. This attitude needs to change.

I think they did you a favor in that case. If you were kicked from a random normal because you were only 330CP on a healer, you dodged a bullet and they saved you 3 key strokes.

@Nanfoodle sometimes people leave the group because they suck, not because the remaining members do.

And, when they ask dumb ?'s like that, remind them the content is scaled for 160/300 CP's. Then ask them why they need 810 CP's worth of healing unless their suviveability is horrible?

CP's help, but they're not the catch all. I've been in low level groups that burn it up, I've been in max level groups that couldn't kill trash mobs, and I've cleared content I've literally had to walk in the front door to access (because I was not allowed to queue for it yet).

Experience >> CP's, any day of the week.

Personally, so long as the game lets you in the front door, I at least give it to the first pull. A good group will know everything they need to at that point, no matter what CP the members are (or aren't).

I'm CP557 now and I still get people turning their nose up at me on some of the easier Vet dungeons. My reason for saying this is not to look for sympathy but I hope it will help some understand their actions hurt the game and getting new blood to the game. I have been MMOing for over 20 years and I'm willing to stick it out and get 810.

Thats where I get worried about the cap going up. If they raise the cap I sure hope it ends up being for non-combat stuff. This climb to being accepted hurts but I will survive. I worry about the causal gamers. The 810 wall is already an impossible task. Walking in BG, Cyrodiil being the one hit wonder all the time is no fun. Being turned away from vet and trials as you are the weak link in the team. So causal player cant get 810 and can't get the gear they want.

This game needs to shorten the curve to 810 or make anything above say 400 mean very little when it comes to combat. Make the CP be also for something else about a certain point.

I did the no death and speed run in vBRF with a 377 tank. Our first healer that cleared the speed run with us was 310. The replacement for the no death was 700. Skill is a large factor in this game.

Just one account, played since 2015 but after my main hit Vet 4 I started to level new characters ... one after the other. Sometimes I deleted them again, sometimes I didn't.
I was sitting at exactly 405 CP until last October when I returned to playing my main; then I decided to build him. Well, I thought about what I wanted to do with him and respecced, reskilled, re-CPd and re-equipped him accordingly. I've been achievement hunting with him ever since and hit 816 CP yesterday.

With the way CP works, you can rush a new character up to 50, and they can still have a minimum of Skill points allotted, so their capabilities in-game are quite restricted, while still having 1000 or more CP. Throw in point allocations that don't really match their play-style, and that count doesn't tell you much.

I forget how few skill points a CP 810 player can have. You get quite a few during the level-up process, but you don't have to do any of the quests that award them, or visit any delves or other locations with skyshards, especially if you mostly PvP in BG's. CP doesn't give you appropriate equipment, either. If your account hasn't done the content to collect the better sets, and you haven't spent the gold to get it without, then you don't have it.

So even though my characters are close to 1000, they don't yet play that way.
